Yes, I am that anon who conducts the surveys. I'm very confident Sway have the majority this round, and regardless, their boons are the most beneficial and getting Refreshed Quest Request during Daily Faerie Quests would also be great.

If you were in the last thread before it died, you'd notice I, the survey anon made a post. I had great difficulty finding any Obelisk-relevant tallies. Avatar/Neosignatures lacked much, Battledome had a few very small threads, and the Help Neoboards was overrun with Faerie Quest threads.


Getting good tally results is kind of unfeasible, but as far as I can tell, things still favor The Sway, and they almost certainly do have a numbers advantage this round.


So yes, join The Sway is my official recommendation this round.

Posting this again because the last thread died and I'm not sure if /trash/ is archived:

Has anyone had any luck with getting the shockwave games to work? I've tried running them in a 32-bit browser, but it still acts like shockwave isn't there.

Recently I tried using the IE Tab extension in Chrome and got to the loading screen, but they all freeze there and I can't get into the game. I'm only interested in the avatars, so I tried score sending too, but the current best score sender on the market force closes when it tries to get game data for those games.

Has anyone had success with them?

According to that guide I just posted, the first Skirmish was on May 2nd, 2013, right after the original Obelisk War Event concluded, which was much more in-depth, with some other parts to it than fighting, and actual story of sorts.

Hey, quick heads-up! Today's featured game is Math's Nightmare, which currently has a 0.50=1000 NP Score-to-Neopoints ratio!

That means a score of 500 Neopoints in-game gets you 1,000 NP.... And because it's the Featured Game today, NP received from any 1 of your 3 Daily Score sends for this game today is doubled, even if it means awarding more than the max of 1,000 Neopoints for a Featured Game!

That means if you can send a score of 500 or more in Maths Nightmare today, you can get 2,000 Neopoints!
And like any flash game, you can do it 3 times a day, for an easy 6,000 NP in a few minutes!

Well, if I had to guess, it would have to do with the fact that purges free up names in use by accounts and pets that aren't actually using them.

IIRC, you can get rid of any pet so long as it's a Lutari, or if not, by turning it into a Lutari and trying to abandon it at the pound, and it'll "run away", disappearing instead. Then nobody can own that pet.
And an account can get frozen or deleted, or closed voluntarily IIRC.

But official closings and pets running away don't get rid of accounts, nor pets. Not completely, anyway.

That Lutari or pet-turned-Lutari, even though it's no longer accessible to ANYONE, is still taking up a name on the servers.


If I name a pet NamingNuisanceNigger and -supposing it lasts long enough for me to do so without it getting deleted or my account getting deleted/frozen for using Nigger in a pet name- try to pound it while it's a Lutari, it runs away....

But the name of that pet -NamingNuisanceNigger in this case- is still on the server.
So even though that pet would be entirely inaccessible to users, its technical existence would still prevent anyone from making a new pet with the same name. NamingNuisanceNigger, in this case.


Likewise, a deleted/frozen/closed account still exists, and still takes up a space on the server, even if it literally hasn't been touched at all for an actual decade!

BOTTOM LINE, if it hasn't been PURGED, that account/pet still takes up a name, preventing that name from being used, even though the account/pet with the name isn't accessible or isn't being accessed.


This is why purges happen -aside from taking up TNT's precious server space, costing them money as well- so that people who want specific names can get them.


The last purge was several years ago, and while 1.5 to 6 years between purges IS regular, AFAIK & IIRC, many people would still like those names to be freed up, and it could attract traffic.

Even if you're not some pound surfer or something after a specific account or pet name, it's possible people might also want a purge because they can't get back into an old account of theirs with a specific name.

If they've lost hope of getting into the real thing, maybe some people are hoping for their account to get PURGED so they can make a new account with the same name. Even if it has none of the NP, items or pets, it would still be the same name, which could carry some nostalgia value to them.


But of course, that may not matter as much to some as being able to get specific account names so that they can get like, an account named TheCrystalGems with pets named Steven_Universe, GarnetRubySapphire and such or whatever.
TL;DR - People want purges so they can get account/pet names that are otherwise inaccessible/not-in-used, or to claim them for nostalgia value or such.
And no, obviously, TNT isn't just going to purge literally thousands of active accounts.
Maybe thousands of INACTIVE accounts, if there are that many, but who knows how many the Purge bots will get.

After all, at the end of the day, 1 of their reasons to Purge is money; Inactive/Inaccessible names use space and costs them cash, but accessible names still in active use belong to players, who are still sources of revenue, so they're not just gonna go and delete the accounts that are being active/accessible.

Yes. There are a few ways. Obviously, 1 is to use them.

Of course, you can't send a Basic Gift Box in a Basic Gift Box.

You need a different type of Gift Box to send a Basic Gift Box.

So check if the NC Mall is selling Gift Box Mystery Capsules, since those can be used at any time, and give you 2 to 4 non-basic Gift Boxes along with other NC items.

WHY would you want to Gift Box Gift Boxes, you might ask? For possible side account abuse, of course! Since you get 150 NeoCash on each of your new accounts -the rules normally allow for 5 accounts to 1 e-mail address, and IIRC, it's frowned upon for 1 person to have more than those 5- and there have been some events that gave out NC where side-accounts can participate and receive said NC, you can use that NeoCash to purchase useful NC stuff like Training, Faerie Quest and Lab Ray Fortune Cookies.

Thus, being able to send a gift box to 2 to 4 of your side accounts so that they can purchase a useful Fortune Cookie or some other NC thing to then send to your main with the Basic Gift Box you obtained and used a non-Basic to send to said side can be a useful opportunity, if possibly a little underhanded.
Another way, sadly, also involving spending NC, might be to try gambling your Gift Boxes with an Upcycle Fortune Cookie. I say gamble because you have to spend NeoCash to get one, and it's not guaranteed you'll win NeoCash back, as opposed to NP, NP items, or NeoCash items.

And lastly, you can just Deposit your Gift boxes into your Safety Deposit Box, or throw them into your Gallery. You have to do so from your Quick Stock, however.

In any case, even if you don't think Elderly Colour looks good, as a base, keep in mind, it still introduced plenty of new clothes; You only need to Paint a Uni Elderly to get the clothes on it, and then you can remove them, thus getting them in your closet.

Once you have Paintbrush Clothes -like the ones for Elderly introduced here- in your closet, any Neopet of the appropriate species, like Unis, in this case, can wear them!

So given that they can worn by any Uni as long as the owner obtains them, what do you think of all the new Uni colours and clothes, including, but not limited to Elderly's perhaps somewhat unsightly base colour, /npg/?

Only just decided to start farming pets for stats, but adopting pets from the pound never works for me... their birthdays are always the date they were originally created, and I can't tell what date that is until I adopt them.

I only get the cupcake when I create a new pet.

Browse the Neoboards. Avatars/Neosignatures, Battledome, Help, and sometimes Fan Clubs are what I look through.

You want any thread asking who's joining the Obelisk in the title, or with the thread author saying they are, or threads that mention at least one Obelisk Faction, like "JOIN THE THIEVES" and/or threads with titles that list the available factions that round.

There's also a guild that regularly posts on the Battledome board at the least, keeping their own threads bumped, but a little frustratingly, avoiding publicly saying who they'll join. Instead, they only let their guild members know, but, supposedly they have hundreds of members.

I'm not sure how many exactly they have, but in my tallies of the Neoboards just ONE HUNDRED users joining one faction tends to be a lot, and as that whole guild tend to ALL join the same faction, they're a big influence.

It would be a good idea to join them if you spot them being open to new guild members, or find a similar & better guild.

It's from September 10th, 2015. Given that NeoCodex is likely considered a cheating site, IIRC, I don't recommend letting Neopets staff, or Neopets users -on and via the website- know that you use it.

TNT/JumpStaff made sure that the birthdays of Neopets are no longer listed on their profiles UNLESS you're the owner of that Neopet.

You can still confirm if it's a pet's birthday TODAY though by viewing a Neopets' profile to see if it has the birthday theme and balloons and such.

Given how old that list is, though, you'll have to hope that every day you go Birthday Pet hunting, there are still some existing/accessible/unowned Birthday Pets for the current day.

Not sure why, since no one ever told me. My best guess was that it had something to do with the database leak that happened in 2012. Apparently JumpStart decided to respond to it in 2016 by doing password resets on some accounts, and freezing others. My account, presumably, fell into the latter category.

Well, apparently I was one of the lucky ones who DID get my Crafting Faerie Quests, so at least we can be certain TNT didn't remove Bonus Crafting Faerie Quests from this event so that people wouldn't refresh them away for some reason like... Problem for me is Crafting Faerie Quest Refreshed into a Grey Faerie, who can either give out an Elemental Faerie's reward or a Fountain Faerie reward.

Since I already have a Fountain Faerie use and you can only have one and any of my pets levelling up would make my training more expensive, I have to hope I don't get Light or Fountain Faerie Quest results, since Light would make training my pets more expensive and take longer unless Count Von Roo reduces their levels -I don't have access to other level reduction methods- and a FFQ reward is effectively nothing.

Oh and Air Faerie Speed reward would sort of be nothing, but at least it would be some stats, instead of nothing, or a "reward" that hinders me.

You can also use the Shop Wizard during Faerie Quests so long as you have it open when the quest begins, and during it.

There's also the troublesome task of just trying to find the item in the Main, NPC-run shops, assuming you don't have the Item in your Safety Deposit Box, Closet, or Neohome Storage Shed.


Also, Neocodex's Item Database lists user shops that sell any items that had it -presumably- during their last pricing of the item.
However, if you do use NeoCodex, keep in mind, NeoCodex's price estimates can sometimes be a bit high, or conflict with other item databases or their price estimates will be off compared to the user shops they list.

Not to mention it's possible they may be considered a cheating site, so don't go telling everyone on Neopets you use them.

Oh, and they only list 1 group of names selling the items in their shop, and they may not list every shop if there's too many, their prices or shop listings could be outdated, the 1 name grouping means they only lists shops beginning with any of 2 or 3 pre-selected characters.

Then use a pet you don't mind getting damaged.

You can use the Healing Springs every half hour anyway, and besides that, visiting the Snowager doesn't guarantee a blasting, and some of the things you can win from it like actual Neggs, and some of the books and other exclusive items are worth a good few thousand.

Hey /npg/, if I train one faerie ability in a level class, and then train for another one, does my pet just completely forget the first one, and if I want to redo it it will cost the same amount of bottled faerie things as before? Or can I just unlock all the abilities and change them out how I like?
