Ive never gone to a gym, but i used to be a big time runner/walker, crossing town on my own to get places. ive basically never dieted but only recently started dedicated gaining. are protein shakes and protein bars good for gaining weight? Because I look at the contents and a simply protein shake 330ml gives about 300 kcal. Seems kinda little to me. It seems the only way to gain weight is to buy cheap mass produced food filled to the brim with transfats. Better genes for it and/or ticking time bombs. I've had thr same experience, with an added cases of even getting up in weight is a torturous gauntlet. Biggest I've ever been is 255, and that last like a week after months of stuffing my face constantly. Then came the holidays, then an illness, then depression. Every time I've tried since, it's like my body rejects fattening/oversized meals. It's really frustrating when I know people who are effortlessly 300+ (and taller)

Doctors will tell anyone even slightly overweight that they need to lose weight - it's a common joke amongst fatties that you could go to the doctor with a broken arm and if you're overweight they'd find some way to blame it on your size.
Which is honestly quite a big problem, seeing as they might just diagnose things as "problems from being fat", so you'd have to be good at talking to doctors to get them to do their job properly.

That said, despite the fact that you can definitely be healthy even if you get large, being big is not exactly conducive to being healthy - if nothing else, you'll be putting a fair bit of strain on your joints - and you'd have to put a lot of effort into being both big and healthy (certainly more than just being big, especially with what you eat)

That said though, how bad were these health issues that cropped up, and were they making things really shit? And how do they compare with your enjoyment of your chub?
If you're enjoying being fat why not just accept that you might not see your nineties and grow large? These days you'll still see 70, even with a bulging belly and thunder thighs.
Become a fat little piggy anon, be lazy and gluttonous.
