In my headcanon, many of thebori from the generation that were frozen in the ice caves ended up with heightened magical abilities from their long- term exposure to the heart of the mountain's magic. Also any of them that were frozen from that long ago would still be very familiar with old neopia and would be pivotal to archeological or historical studies. Both are good reasons why Rasala managed to become leader of the Red Erisim instead of any of the old wizards

Being frozen near a magical artifact didn't give the bori heightened magical ability. Of all of the notable bori, only Rasala and the Bori King have shown any aptitude toward magic at all. Most of the other notable bori are guards, Yooyuball players, Brute Squad members, miners, or other professions that focus on physical aptitude. It'd be more accurate to say that Rasala became leader despite being a bori, not because of it. Bori are shit at magic.

As for forgotten knowledge, they could easily get that from the bori, or any of the many ancient tyrannian species, or Jerdana, without giving up control of their entire order.

I'll take that response as you conceding that you are no longer able to support your proposition.

Rasala learned her magic from an ogrin, and the bori king only had magic because of the Heart of the Mountain. Bori are good at digging and other physical tasks, and that's pretty much it. They're the neopets equivalent of dwarves, except they aren't even dwarfy enough to grow beards.

While what she summoned were supposedly only apparitions, and the guilds faced them before, each apparitions was fought by only 1 guild and were fought as a collective.

And they could STILL take hours, if not days for the playerbase to beat them, because they had 1 MILLION HP at minimum.

The guilds only had to beat them once each, and the HP of said apparitions didn't get restored whenever someone finished battling them, but they still had incredible stats and weaponry.


The point is, there would be considerable resistance, and even if they did manage to beat her within an inch of her "life", there's no guarantee she couldn't just leave, find safety elsewhere, or just not give them the boons.

Assuming they can hurt her.

Not to mention, if she's as all-knowing as she claims, she could potentially outstrategize her attackers, or if she has precognition, know the attack is coming, and act accordingly.


It'd be a high risk move without a great chance of a reward, when they could just continue fighting the other factions, who they're enemies with, and get boons for THAT.

Okay, so I followed JellyNeo's guide of course, but if you're not already get on that. What you need to be doing is buying Quadruple Fudge Cheese, and diving left every time. Don't ask me how it works, but I was winning at least once a day with that strategy, and sometimes winning all three times.

The thing is, I'm almost convinced that you have to win by a large margin in order to get the avatar. Like there may be a small chance you could randomly get it when winning with 58 seconds or something like that, but today I won with like 49 seconds and got it, and that was the most time I've ever had left when winning before.

Other than magic that benefits Neopians, little about her actually suggests faeries.

She was discovered, seemingly sealed inside an Obelisk in Tyrannia, which had been found out about after an earthquake and a beacon of light, which prompted people to start digging at the site.
Eventually, the Obelisk was unearthed, and the 6 factions started flooding in, all with their own reasons to want to be at the Battleground of the Obelisk, and so, Neopians picked sides, and the Obelisk War began.

Besides the fact that it was hidden away, the Obelisk was in Tyrannia, miles away from Faerieland; The closest Faerie known to be nearby was The Negg Faerie living inside the Ice Caves.
I'd think the Faeries would've been more involved if so.


Although, while she's far away from it, there is Aethia, the Battle Faerie. Maybe she'd have been interested in the war for some reason?
Of course then again, other than her ability academy, if she was so interested, why didn't she show up, other than being too busy teaching pets abilities?

Oldfag returning player here: So I read up on the new revamped Battledome, but I'm still not sure on how often codestones drop, and what affects it.

1. Do codestones drop more often on higher level enemies?

2. Do they drop when you're fighting someone relatively tougher than you, or less often when you fight relatively easy opponents?

3. Do they just drop at a fixed rate regardless of your level or who you're fighting?

The only thing that effects how often codestones drop is how many other possible items you can win from the battle.

If you're fighting an opponent with a large pool of prizes you can win in an arena with a large pool of prizes you can win, then you are much more likely to get one of those prizes instead of a generic prize like codestones. But if the opponent and the arena both have fairly small prize pools, your odds of getting codestones increases substantially.

SSW is pretty awesome if you sell a lot of stuff, it really helped me out during Charity Corner (and now it's helping me stock up for the next one). But unless you have one of those enormous mall shops and you constantly need to keep it stocked, the SSW really just saves you a few minutes of monotonous refreshing now and then.

Nerkmids from the Cosmic Dome challengers are fairly nice but not an extreme benefit; I'd estimate you earn maybe 40-60k per day more fighting Premium challengers than you would get from the most lucrative enemies in the regular Domes.

The fifth pet slot is a big draw for a lot of people, but you only keep it for as long as you have Premium (this part is complicated, check JN's Premium guide for the specifics).

....Unsure. Paint Brush sources aren't that common.

Off the top of my head, Paint Brushes can be obtained from the Jacko the Phantom Painter Random Event, won through the Wheel of Extravagance, as well from the Alien Aisha Vending Machine.

The Wheel of Extravagance costs 100,000 NP to spin, and can be spun once a day it can grant Paint Brushes.
Similarly, provided you have Nerkmids to spend on it, the Alien Aisha Vending Machine, can grant Paint Brushes.


My best guess is that people just weren't spinning the WoE that often, due to fewer newer -and thus, higher value- paintbrushes and/or they were hoarding Nerkmids. Then, with the announcements of the new brushes, the WoE and AAVM got a lot more useage, allowing people to obtain the brushes quicker.


Frankly, I'm more concerned about what colours it will be possible for Marble to come in.

GUYS I think I won the Dice-a-roo jackpot, but I didn't get the avatar.

I've been following the method where you just mash the "play dice-a-roo" button a ton of times to get it to play a bunch of games and save time. So I was doing that today while keeping track of my NP, and I noticed that I had gotten 1,500 more after some fast clicking.

I assumed I had won a jackpot so I checked my avatars, but I didn't get it. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Do you actually have to be on the page where it says "You won!" to get the avatar? Wat do?

I'm feeling brute squad this round. Hopefully word on the street looks good in the next few days.

It's a shame TNT had to begin the Daily Faerie Quests around now; A week later, and if The Sway won, we'd be able to enjoy Refreshed Quest Request Boons with it, to let us swap out 1 unwanted quest for a new one with each new, non-Refreshed Quest!


In any case, I recommend waiting until the beginning of Neopian Wednesday or so before picking a faction.
