He tends to get the ones where the entire family is involved, so he has to put in a lot of work and it shows. I really want to study his boards from an episode to see how he handles framing a show with so many characters involved, making sure there's still room for action and not leaving anyone out for too long. From the GIF previews I've seen of The Whole Picture, it really bugs me that Lincoln's not taking the approach to retaking the pictures with his sisters. I can understand he'd be nervous about pissing them off, but for a more entertaining episode, just get that out of the way and make the sisters understand that he feels bad about it.

Then the rest of the episode can have funny moments showing the dynamic of the FAMILY, and them squabbling over certain memories and how they posed during those moments.

And then for the last bit of conflict you can have it so Lincoln and his sisters go to recreate one of the most important photos, only for the location or thing they took it in front of no longer exists. Then the parents can come in and say "You guys, we know how rambunctious you can be, that's why we made digital copies years ago!"

The family laughs, and they take one more picture for the hell of it. You can't GET that kinda shit out of... Rusty Spokes. Clyde being there I can understand, because you could have some jokes with him being all persnickety with the photography like he's some kind of expert.

I'm not going to be able to propose it properly, and it goes a bit into personal tastes, but as you say that you can't "get that kind of shit out of Rusty Spokes" there are just things that you can get out of Lincoln's friends like Rusty that you can't get out of the family members. It shows off more of Lincoln and there are things he can do with them that he can't do with his sisters. By using the friends to recreate the scenes you get to see the event lead up and see Lincoln hang out with people other than the same characters all the time, flexing out the cast.

And I wouldn't mind that, but I'm nowhere near satisfied with the family interactions yet. As of now, Lincoln's sisters seem antagonistic not just because we're meant to see Lincoln as the main character, but because they only seem to come around when he's in trouble, so we've mostly seen just one side of them. The side where they're annoyed with him. All of the most enjoyable interactions have been extremely sparse, and even then they're usually negative. I don't mind negativity, arguing can be funny, but I think you can also get humor out of two or three sisters gushing about something or talking about things they like.

Honestly, I'd just like an eleven minute episode where there's no real conflict whatsoever and we're just seeing sisters come and go in a conversation with Lincoln where there's some insults, some new details about the characters we didn't know before, and a lot of laughs.

the plot device is that Lincoln has to recreate the pictures by himself, getting the sisters to help would make things too easy, and it's OOC for them to not be mad at Lincoln when he fucks up something, going by previous episodes like "sleuth or consequences" and "come sale away".

going to the sisters for help early in the episode would deprive it of a very fitting ending shot with them hugging it out, anything other than that and the episode would just turn into "Cover Girls 2"
