Sure do. I use a variety of tools for sketching, but I basically start with circles for the head, chest and hips.

Then I use darker colors to block out and sculpt the sketch until it's the form I like.

Here you can still see the first sketch lines, with the darker strokes going over it.

I read your Martina fic, and I really like where you're taking the characters. There's a lot of little details - internal monologue description generally - that flesh out the events and the characters in an organic way, rather than just piling on exposition for its own sake.

I wasn't exactly in too good of a spot emotionally before I first started coming here. I felt like nothing I did mattered and that there was no point in trying to better myself.

But then I found this place, lead here by Weaver's drawings on e621.

You guys got me back into drawing, you made it fun for me again. You made each of my days a treat to look forward to. You made getting out of bed each morning worth it.

You know, that's what's cool about Pack Street. We get reminded that these guys are animals, and do animal-ish things. It informs their culture, and how they live their lives. They're not just human beings presented as animals, with certain real life words swapped out for others.

They have their racism allegories, we all know what Pack Street is supposed to represent. Maybe you're a Greek living in Turkish Constantinople, or a white guy in Harlem, but that coming to terms with your surroundings narrative is the heart of the story.

Then, a fantastically element is introduced in that they're all animals. Makes the allegory much less black and white, and in some ways more realistic. More open to being explored.

I remember how they got black people into the NFL. Back in ye olde times, the law was 'seperate but equal', and that it was totally okay to have an all-white stadium as long as you built an all-black stadium for those excluded.

It's very dissimilar to a moba. There's one game type that could possibly be considered moba-like (dominion), but even that one is just capture point with little AI minions constantly trying to cap the midpoint, but they all die in one hit. There's no towers or gold or last hitting or any of that.

If anything I'd say it's a cross between a fighting game and Mount and Blade/Chivalry. It has distinct characters with combos and guards, parries, and guard breaks, but it's also about reading your opponent and timing your attacks, as well as choosing the angle to attack from.

The skill ceiling is extremely high though so you can completely style on someone while yourself being completely styled on by someone else because the guy you're fighting feinted his overhead attack to bait out your counter, which he then parries and combos you into the fucking dirt.

The singleplayer/co-op campaign is alright I guess but it's really just something you do more for the armor customization unlocks that you can use in the multiplayer, at least for me. I'd say watch some gameplay vids (there's a shitton of streamers as well) and if you like what you see then go for it, because the actual fighting controls are solid, even if fighting someone who is much better than you can feel like you will never git gud in a million years.

Slivers of truth aside, I'm seriously doing pretty fine. I think that what makes a lot of artists unhappy also tends to contribute to what makes them good artists. For some, it's a desire for perfection in a life without any. For others it can be a need to simply express their feelings in a way that they wouldn't be able to in real life. But as always, EVERYONE, not just CCs, is generally unhappy with SOMETHING.

There's two sides of that coin, I feel. Being an artist includes being constantly unsatisfied with your work.
It what moves the wheels of creation.
But I will always take this life over a boring, dull one devoid of content, unable to do anything.
Because we could hate our works, but for an artist every single piece is important, a part of self that it is jotted down on a medium, be it paper, an image file or something else, and put in public for all the other people to see.
And always some satisfaction comes with it

I've taken to believing that art generally comes from some inner discontent. If someone has gone through times that left them feeling sad or frustrated or any other negative emotion, they're going to have an experience that they can channel into creating something. Humans like to share emotions with eachother, and if someone has gone through something that effected them deeply enough, they're going to tell people in one way or another. Maybe someone cut them off on the freeway and they had to swerve to avoid dying. Maybe they lost a hundred dollars at the slot machines. That's something they'll feel almost compelled to tell their friends.

But I think it's when you can't get this feeling out of you for one reason or another- because it's too vague for you to articulate, or because you feel like it wouldn't help to tell the people you know- then you turn to other methods. You write a story from that feeling, that idea, that event, or maybe you just draw a short little one panel comic or edit an image and post it on a gregarian chanting board, because you want to see if anyone else will understand that thing, and laugh or cry or get a boner or whatever else.

But I also don't think EVERY piece of OC made has been born of some direct negative event or something. And hell some stuff gets made from positive emotions, too. But I think it's more like people who are depressed gravitate towards content creation than it is that content creation leads to or causes depression. Because let me tell you, making stuff that anonymous people tell you they enjoy does wonders for fighting away thoughts that tell you you aren't worth a damn.

I remember there was a time when I was a poster on a certain containment board. In my thread, people waited for me and really told me how great my stories were. Told me they couldn't wait until I posted more.

Then I actually got some reliable friends and I noticed my content creation dried up because I wasn't miserable anymore and stuck in a room trying to please a board of Anonymous shitlords.
Art is a fantastic way to explain ideas and emotions.

I'm rarely happy, but I try to be.

At the risk of fucking blogposting, a lot of things in my life aren't particularly good, and sadly that usually slows down my content production to a grinding halt, even if I find making content therapeutic.

I still think it's important to create and express yourself. It's helpful. It can put things in perspective sometimes too.

Some people have problems that nothing can ever fix, but there are ways to cope. For some creating something is one of those ways.

This was pretty enjoyable, and it rounded off with Judy unleashing some insecurity on him. And having some light Hurt/Comfort. Yet it does feel strangely right when she could think she would be insignificant to give Nick pleasure.

I also don't think you need to have normal text/green text switching. I mean as long you keep a 1:1 ratio of whoever is talking/acting out. The reader should be able to pick up on that and know they are switching back and forth.

As it stands it just looks really messy. But luckily the capp's look better in the end.
