I just put the brakes on a big story that I really want to tell but I don't know how to tell yet.

I feel like I've lost my writing voice and my ability to characterize and pace events, all overnight.

I know it's temporary, but it's got me feeling down. Anyone have romantic wildehopps prompts I can maybe prep for TT instead? I need to focus on something else.

I want to start off by saying thanks you for liking my characters enough to write a fic for them. I don't think I'm good at 'reviewing' things as my reading comprehension is pretty shitty, but I'll see if I can point out positives and flaws in a healthy manner.

First of all the flow of the story was very nice. I had difficulty understanding a lot of the idle movements described, but I think it's more on my end. Like I said reading comprehension isn't a strength of mine. Even then the story didn't feel like it was dragging at any point, at least not to me.

I have to say, the characterization is very well executed. For what I've shown of each of them you've got them pretty down pat. Minor nitpicks include Percy's delivery feeling unlike him, but the things he says seem entirely in his character. I imagine his tone always having a hint of unease, and I didn't feel that in this. Again though what he says is entirely fine and it's a nitpick, not an actual problem.

Also minor, but Clancy doesn't drink. I've only mentioned it once ages ago so it's not like it's commonly known. I do feel if he did though, you described it just fine.

All in all I really liked it, and I thank you for writing it. The ending was very strong in my opinion. Not overly happy, but realistically so. The scene with Hugh and Caitlin was probably my favorite. I think you wrote her exceptionally.

I probably wasn't particularly helpful, but I at least wanted to say I enjoyed it. Thank you Hasty!

Last thread I took a greentext requests. One of the requesters got dubs, so I did that one.

In which Judy plans a surprise party for Nick:

I am furious, Hasty. Not only because I wanted to write the first Shorty Squad fic but because you absolutely deserve more (You)s.

Your prose is very beautiful, and this was a sweet story. Caitlyn and Hugh talking about the laundry winch (and the rest of their exchange) and the ending stood out to me as high points.

I'd say that the first few paragraphs are a little...big. Intimidating, I guess. If you wanted to change something, maybe find a way to break them up? Ease the reader in a little. Totally your call, though.

I know its rethoric but its pretty much spot on my thoughts, and probably chumpy's and other CCs who fled this shithole for discord or other communities. Even Weaver admitted he was living hell here.
