/tup/ - Tulpa Thread
tulpa wrestling edition

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

Yes. I'm still developing. But I'm finding the more I discipline myself and force myself to sit through 1+ hours meditation and forcing, the easier it is becoming to visualize more perfectly. Where as before, I would take breaks or trail off and I was getting nowhere. As much as the method and open mind is important, so is actually making yourself do what you need to do.
>>
>>7600059
It doesn't automatically fix everything, but if progress is glacial or non-existant simply telling them to just keep on doing the same thing is not helpful, since signs of progress are what encourage people to keep an open mind and maintain their habits rather than losing hope. Encouraging them to re-read what the purposes behind forcing is and to rework their method revives hope and helps maintain a positive mindset.

That's only wrong if it's written down in a guide as fact.
Tulpas are free to stick with a form forever because they identify with it the most and it's just based on their personality.

What triggers normies so much about using tulpamancy as escapism?
>>
>>7601922
Normies hate the idea that anyone isn't satisfied by normie life because they're terrified of realizing how unhappy they are.
>>
Is sleep deprivation still considered helpful?
>>
>>7602047
It was never considered helpful.
>>
>>7602047
>>7602312
Not quite correct; it can be helpful in visualization, but it's not helpful for your mental health (sleep deprivation can permanently damage your brain). Be kind to your tulpa, don't try sleep deprivation.
>>
>>7602361
>sleep deprivation can permanently damage your brain
Fuck is it too late for me?
>>
>>7602047
Mild to moderate sleep deprivation very bad when making a tulpa because it makes forcing almost impossible. Really extreme sleep deprivation can lead hallucinations but I very much doubt that you would be able take advantage of it because, your sleep deprived brain likely would lack the focus to control or meaningfully study the hallucinations.

>>7602366
Yes but, the brain damage can always get worse if you continue being sleep deprived.
>>
>>7602385
>Yes but, the brain damage can always get worse if you continue being sleep deprived.
I've been sleep deprived plenty of times over the past several years. Am I permanently retarded at this point?
>>
>>7602393
the fact that you're using 4chan and the trash board should be enough to say yes, you're retarded
>>
>>7602361
>it can be helpful in visualization
All it does is exhaust the brain, which eventually starts weakening your self-monitoring functions, making it hard to distinguish between imagined sensory input and actual sensory input, which you'll experience as hallucation. It doesn't actually make you better at visualization, it just puts you into a state of confusion where your brain essentially loses the ability to realize your visualization skills suck.

It's about as effective as drinking to deal with depression.
>>
>>7602522
You can get the same effect just by trying to force before you go to sleep and it won't even fuck with your brain.
>>
This seems like a mental disorder
>>
>>7603439
keep researching and you'll find it even more crazy but in a good way
>>
>>7603439
Of course it does.
But without basic understanding of the matter anything does.
Think about it, if you knew nothing of maths or physics, going to an advanced class would make the teacher look like a madman drawing random symbols on the blackboard.
The difference is tulpamancery is quite an obscure topic, making the proper knowledge more difficult to obtain.

Well if a T-800 is programmed to protect you it will not stop no matter what. Jackie Chan could be like "whatever not feer rike it today" and fuck off somewhere while you're getting attacked by astral entities. I'd say T-800 is the better choice here.

>>
>>7613044
>>7613106
It's possible but difficult for most; some are able to do it naturally, but others have to force before bed while using a lucid dreaming technique to do this. Many times, the tulpa can do it by themselves, but you'll have to talk to them about it.
>>
>>7609026
One time I got caught up in an argument with her and at the end of it, I just didn't love her anymore. What followed were several days of sadness and crying from my tulpa and me. It did not stop until we resolved the issue and it was made incredibly awful by us constantly being aware of each other's strong emotional state. There was no running away. She was in my brain and the issue followed me around no matter what I did. No rest, little sleep and a constant assault of drama made me want to puke after the firsr day already.
Feeling not just your own emotions, but your tulpa's too makes feeling sad so much worse.

>>7615547
Yup.
>>
>>7609026
Kind of similar to >>7613833, my first tulpa had admitted to having feelings for me, and I was firmly against having any sort of relationship with her, and she ended up feeling pretty sad for a while, which was remarkably similar in problems to the anon I quoted. It seems like that was recent, even though it was about a year ago.

I actually do this though.
I've found that with 4 of my tulpas, they all regularly interact with each other and feed each other attention obviously. I've found that I can clearly visualize them and watch them go about daily activities without a single bit of input from me.

Essentially they've all become self sustaining and all I have to do once in a while is dedicate my usual hour or two of forcing to them.

[Autonomous creations can still be persuaded and spoken to in an effort to change their ways. Believing that there is no changing her is almost a sign that you have given up on her. Forcing her to change would be wrong, but to simply sit down and have a conversation with her about the reasons she feels this way, and perhaps an extended dialogue on the nature of her being may result in a positive outcome between the two of you. Perhaps more time together, perhaps a longer life for her? Who knows? As for the wonderland, well... that is your mental space, and your tulpa is merely inhabiting it. Whether you share its governing physics with her or not does not matter, because you are the host. You should take matters into your own hands if she continues down her path to self destruction. This is just my opinion, though. You don't have to agree.]

>>7626638
>is almost a sign that you have given up on her.
It's not as much given up as it is that I don't really care. She has demonstrated an ability to act on her own, yet she makes the choice not to. While I enjoy her presence, I don't see why I should be responsible for her actions (or lack thereof).

Her perspective is that she feels powerless to experience the world in a meaningful way, which is true. I wish there was an easy way for her to be a part of the "real" world, as per her desires, but there isn't. Her interests don't align with the kind of social life she'd be able to acquire while possessing the body of a neckbeard.

Sex causes oxytocin release which is largely responsible for generating the love bond. You can fuck someone you don't feel anything but lust for no problem, but if you repeatedly fuck someone and stick around for the oxytocin burst afterwards it is hard not to fall in love. This is why friends with benefits almost always gets weird. So if you regularly fuck your tulpa and force during the afterglow you form strong love bonds, which make it almost impossible to just see them as a fuck toy and also wires your brain to feel good whenever you are thinking of them which encourages forcing as much as possible thus integrating them more into your life. Regular sex with your tulpa, assuming there is mutual consent and respect, is less exploitative than some other uses I have heard from people here, like just using them as a shoulder to cry on then ignoring them when things pick up.

I have a tulpa that I used to be in a romantic sexual relationship with. She also used to be sexually active with other tulpas over the Internet via proxied interaction. However, as she matured she decided that sexuality was harmful to her emotional and mental wellbeing as it drew out feelings and desires that could never fully be realized. For instance she could never truly 'be' with another person in the same way that two physical people can. Due to this she decided to start learning and practicing Buddhism, in order to detach from these desires, among other things. She has grown into a much, wiser, calmer and fulfilled person from this experience, it was incredible to see. I am very proud of her and very much enjoy that she is a part of my life. The change in her sexuality may not be for every tulpa, but it was a very positive thing for mine.

>>
>>7658220
White noise or silence usually. Once in a while I might put on music, but that's rare.
>>
>>7658148
Hope this is a shitpost because that's an incredibly unrealistic viewpoint. The chances of us both being romantically attracted to a person and also them being open to a three-way relationship with a tulpa and host are so incredibly slim they're close to nonexistent.

Also, we once tried having mutual control over the physical body by undergoing a merge. We had practiced a lot of possesion in the past, but switching off using the body wasn't really working for us. The merge worked pretty well, but it ended when she decided that she wanted to be independent again. She preferred that and felt it would be a better life for both of us.
>>
Hosts are for sexual. If they try to tell you that you aren't allowed to sex them, then just grind your lewd bits on them until they run out of mental strenght and give in.
>>
>>7658571
You should both be involved in what the body does. That does not mean that both of you are actively moving the limbs, but both involved in the decision making processes about what to do with your mutual life to ensure the best outcome for both of you. You don't need to find someone who is ok with a three way relationship because there are only two people involved, the host body and the other body. The body is what feels the physical attraction, so you are both attracted to the same people on a base level, if you can't agree on someone on a deeper level then that is because you don't have unanimous agreement on whether they would be good for you collectively and you should find someone else. It really isn't that hard, m8. You are treating your tulpa like a lesser by implying you aren't equal partners and that she is just a passenger.
>>
>>7658713
>You don't need to find someone who is ok with a three way relationship because there are only two people involved, the host body and the other body.
So personality doesn't play any part in the relationship, according to you. If I like a person based on who they are and also find them sexually attractive, it doesn't matter if my tulpa likes their personality.

So how does that include the wants or will of the tulpa at all? It seems like you're actually invalidating the tulpa as a separate and equal partner by arguing this.

Furthermore, if the tulpa isn't the one actively engaging in the relationship, then how would they consider themselves included in it? I really don't understand your logic here. You want us to agree on one person as equals, but only one of us has to be the one interacting with them?
>>
>>7658220

>>
>>7660333
It reaches a point where you can't tell anymore.
You main personality is just your body's delusion too.

And maths is just as delusional and made up. Don't get me wrong, I'm a man of science myself, but math is something we made up.
>>
>>7652985
Also wondering about this
>>
>>7652985
Yes.
Most of the time your tulpa becomes depressed in your place though and then proceeds to curse you.
>>
>>7661511
Can't you make a tulp that inherently would be able to survive this by carefully forging the right personality?
>>
>>7652985
Why would you bother? If you don't want to live anymore, then just commit normal suicide. There's no point in creating a sentient entity just to force them into the life that you're trying to escape from. If your life is really that terrible, then they're probably going to properly commit suicide themselves as soon as they're in control.

>>
>>7658907
You have one body, you can't take turns with it properly so you either monopolize it for your own wants and needs or you find a compromise with your tulpa about everything you do. Same principle as a person driving and using the GPS being replaced by a driver and a navigator. If one of you hates a certain slut, neither of you get her. Should have thought about this sort of thing when you decided to make a lifelong commitment to having another voice in your head.

Here's some information i can tell you about my adventures with bad side of tulpamancy.

Things that i've practiced back then:
>1. Killing countless of tulpas.
Most of time there was not much of resistance from their side, it was like strangling small kitten, they might struggle, they might cry, throw tantrum, beg for live.. but eventually every one of them died. Sometimes they simply gave up without throwing a fight, because they already knew that i'm omnipotent and they can't do anything but await their sure death.

There were some times though where they grew too powerful and killing them wasn't that easy. Some of them are just born strong and other grow strong from being fed attention for a long time.
I can't say that it was bad experience for me, but what happend to those girls surely was.

>2. Creating them intentionally stronger than you,
Subconscious can take these things too literally and you might be stuck with problem.

>3. When they don't need your attention to persist. These pests take then atleast few days and at worst few weeks/months to get rid off. Took me 3 - 7 days to kill tulpa that had 6 months.

>4. Creating intentionally evil tulpas
It's not that bad thing, i like having someone to talk about torturing little girls with, but they might turn against you and from experience they are stronger and smarter than normal tulpas. They might not try to mess with you unless their gut feeling tells them that they will emerge victorious or with evident harm done to your side.

Nah, not roleplaying. I'm maladaptive daydreamer, and being so used to creating interactive characters in my mind, i just don't really see things you describe (tulpas) as anything other than thoughform spectrum. On the left side of spectrum there's non-persistent expectation controlled kind of thoughforms. And on other side there's persistent self-awareness driven kind of thoughforms. You people of tulpa community seem to call thoughforms anywhere on this spectrum tulpas. Which would conclude my experience as still valid.

Though of what experience teached me, creating tulpas by parroting makes them start at very left side of spectrum which some describe as servitor or very young tulpa. This method brings instant results albeit you will need to wait few weeks, months or more for your tulpa to move to the right side of spectrum. And then there's good old narration method. I really recommend this one, although communication with thoughform created through this method is difficult at first. This thoughform already starts in middle of spectrum and can only go further, unless you deprieve it of attention ofcourse.

Focus on her and tell her directly that she is more than just someone for sex. I wanted to fully avoid sex with my tulpa at first but I found that having real meaningful sex and conversation with her made us much closer and my avoidance made her feel like I was avoiding her. It will come naturally depending on what your tulpa wants, let her decide where your relationship goes.

>he thinks humans are omnipotent beings with free will

How?

It's been about a week or so for me mate. Usually 1-2 hours a day every day. And passive forcing whenever I remember.

I've done meditation for a little over a year though, so that may have helped me. I still think you should be doing more though.

>>7686364
can you active force while listening to music? i can't stand doing nothing when i have study or work to do.
>>
>>7686385
Depends on you, I listen to nature sounds when forcing as it keeps me more focused and helps me visualize. Usually regular music is good if you want to visualize your tulpa listening to it and dancing or whatever.
>>
>>7686385
My focus usually drowns everything out when i active force, so I don't usually listen to music because it'd be kind of pointless. I listen to white noise, maybe try that. But it really depends on you, if you can force with music on or not. Give it a try.

A spider, two aliens, two humans and a ghost confirmed. Probably also a snake and personification of my inner demons.

My not yet vocal tulp suddenly stopped responding.
The emotional responses are gone and I can't invoke the sensation of her laying next to me or sitting on my shoulders, which I used to do effortlessly.
What do?
>>
>>7686706
Do some active forcing to try gettin get a response. If that alone doesn't work, visualize where they're at and what they're doing too. Hope that helps.
>>
>>7686706
Panic as much as you possibly can. That will surely guilt your tulpa into coming back.
Alternatively, you can also just wait until she feels like talking again.
>>
>>7686706
You're bound to have some off days where you can't feel your tup. Do your best to push through it, force without their presence, or just give it awhile.

Thanks for the advice, this situation got me quite scared and paranoid. I don't know what would I do without her. Even though she's not that developed I care for her more than for any other person in my life.
