This; if Judy has only said those things and rejected Nick then I may have a slightly different opinion, but the fact that she pushed him, with near hosility, into dates with vixens and she kept telling him that him dating a bunny simply wouldn't work out just makes her near unforgivable to me. It is a complete lack of respect, and a show of what she wants rather than what Nick wants.

As a side note, it is funny that past her hatred of Jack she does respect him, and he thinks she is wasted as a police officer. I'd be amused if by the end of this Judy finally gives up, asks Jack to make Nick happy (something she couldn't do) and follows in Jack's footsteps since he retired.

So I will give her that, and the fact she is starting out small is also very good. She hasn't rushed into this, expecting to get everything that she wants, right away.
Now, once she finds out the truth, and how she is going to act is a completely different story.

I won't lie, that ending that you are hypothesizing is honestly something I haven't thought of, and it sounds rather comedic. I am also personally happy that the author finally knows what ending he wants for the fic is set in stone. Now we just need to sit back and watch it unfold.

I think the thing where she "knew" that Nick wouldn't settle for some vixen has two parts to it; first off I think it was near subconscious that she was doing it. She was "aware" of Nick's sexuality but was still in denial mode, perhaps trying to trick herself with the false possibility that Nick would get with a vixen and be happy, even though she knew that future was never happening. Secondly, with her knowing Nick's dates with vixens would fail, she was purposefully keeping Nick from finding a relationship, so that she could keep Nick "to herself" even if they weren't in a romantic relationship.

Makes her actions arguably more despicable, doesn't it?

From how chapter 7 went, I think Judy did love Nick, she just fooled herself into thinking bunnies couldn't be with predators, and that no matter how much she loved Nick she couldn't be with him. A nasty loophole due to her initial fear of predators.

As for the abandonment complex, I posted a few threads ago of how, given the circumstances, Judy could have developed one at least concerning Nick. She was just about ready to have Nick as a partner, meaning she wanted him in her life, only to fuck up, hurt him, and have him walk out on her. She went three months without him, and not even a minute into finding him again under the bridge, he was already set to walk out on her again. She cried at the thought of him hating her, cried at the thought of the fox that stood up for her when he had nothing to gain by doing so.
She could count herself lucky and have the hidden fear in the back of her mind that, at some point, Nick could walk out on her again if she hurt him bad enough.

Bleh, I wasn't specific enough with what I meant. When I meant "She didn't love him at that point", I meant that she didn't exactly love him at the point when she was forcing dates onto him. She was still covering her emotions in a denial so deep it was a part of her very existence, only have the revelation within chapter 7 and farther onward did she finally see everything for what it is.

I do personally also head-canon that Judy developed an abandonment complex, when it comes to Nick. And I always felt like she really wallowed in those emotions during those month's before she finally couldn't take anymore. And everything goes pretty much how you describe it. I have only seen this kind of complex really show up in only two different fic's, and it's surprisingly super damn rare.
