A thin pair of lips, belonging to the eyes' owner, speak to you with a fragile, fragrant voice. You can basically feel her hope drivelling out of the, you'd like to call it adorable, nose.
You can't see more of her, you're too numb and she's too close for that. Oh, and she's probably waiting for an answer.
While you are pretty certain that you're not this Conrad she asks for, the recent encounter with Apollon did probably make you question your actual identity.

The hope in her eyes wanes quickly.

The woman moves out of your field of view, making you stare at the upper corner of the room you're in. Unplastered bricks, solid steel covering both roof and walls. It seems like it's a rather old, unrefurbished room. You can see the hints of other things at the very corners of your view, but you're unable to take a closer look to identify them. It's starting to frustrate and frighten you, you're not even able to move your eyes in their sockets.

From your right, you can hear paper rustling. Something humming all around you. Huh, you didn't even notice that at first, as if you were used to it. Some other sounds you cannot identify. Beeping? Ticking? Yes, definitely ticking. Muffled hisses, sounding like gas or steam.
Mumbling.

"Mhm. Either I am too tired to read those or you really are conscious. An unexpected high density of Alpha complexes, but mainly Beta waves. You are definitely awake. Let's see..."
Suddenly, you see her hand lash out at you, you already feel the slap on your face, but her hand stops abruptly and gets pulled back out of your view.

"Aaaand a packet of high frequency beta waves. That, and the fact that I haven't done a mistake in AT LEAST ten hours only leads to once logical conclusion."

A tuft of short brown hair appears, the woman's young face beneath it. She's pouting.
"You are ignoring me. Now that's kinda rude, you know? Please stop teasing me like that, Conrad. A-assuming that's you?"

You can see her struggling to keep her spirits high.

It's the first time you see more than just her head.
A young woman, maybe in her earlier or mid twenties, with almost boyish short brown hair, her turquoise eyes still big and inviting. Her body doesn't seem overwhelming, but her clothing isn't very flattering, so she could be hiding more.
A buttoned up, plain blue shirt, definitely for a man (which contrasts the black underbust corset she's wearing, the only feminine article of clothing on her) and a white labcoat over it. You can't see her pants, you're still angled upwards, looking towards the upper corner of the room.
Is she a doctor, mayhaps?

"Anyways, you asked what's going on. Well. The answer is a lot less easy grasped than just told, you I'll try to be... careful."
She pulls a chair from somewhere in the room and takes a seat right next to you.

"What is the last thing you remember, Maxwell?"

What happened after the fall?

And suddenly, after finishing, you feel an overwhelming ache from inside your soul. A kind of unfulfilled satisfaction, like a key almost, but not quite, fitting into a lock. Two lines on the street almost, but not quite, matching up.

Soon, Emily's voice is getting muffled. You can hear her getting nervous and getting up. Mumbling terms you wouldn't understand even if you were able to make them out.
Your eyes close, you guess. There just are no eyelids, your vision just fades to black, like an ancient, turned off TV screen.

Then you open your eyes - now with actual eyelids - and you find yourself once again in that weird room with the statues.
The Atelier.

Apollon seems to be missing, so are the benches. Instead, there is a big mirror in the middle of the room, emitting the same ache you were focusing on.

You are approaching it, observing it, with those young, golden eyes.
You don't see them in the mirror though. You only see woman, a busty one at that, with moss green eyes and hairs, the latter being styled like some kind of ape-tail, if you'd have to guess. She wears weird glasses and some even weirder ornaments on her forehead.

But she mimics your every move. You jump. You grimace. You pose. You lift one hand to hold against the mirror...
And while you do so, the ache increases. You press your flat hand against the mirror, and so does the woman. Of course, your handprints are not in the slightest bit alike. Both physically and... mentally?
Sensing her hand through the glass of the mirror makes you feel the perfect example of a lock that almost, but not quite, fits around a key.

Startled by Apollon's voice, you turn around, only to see him sitting on the empty podium, watching you intently.

"That's what this ache is called. Your soul knows something is wrong, your mind doesn't want to acknowledge it. And let's not even mention your body."
He jumps off the podium and walks over to you, his appearance still fluid and changing, so much so you don't even want to focus on it lest you might get dizzy.

"I can tell you what causes your dissonance. I cannot correct it though. You can't. Emily surely won't be able to.
Nobody can.
If you know what's the root of your ache, you might be able to "get over" it, and continue on with your adventure without worrying about it, enjoying the whole trip. But it might also upset you, so much so that you don't even want to continue. I'd say this risk is small, but I'm a curious being, so I'm biased on this."

He circles you, taking long, hammy steps, the occasional clicking of heals filling the room whenever his costume so pleases. His words seem split, like they are addressed at you, but not JUST at you, and also at someone behind you, someone beyond you.

"If I don't tell you, the "what if?" might eat you whole and ruin your fun - or you'd be able to ignore it, and continue on like nothing ever happened. Either way..."
He goes over to the mirror and pushes it over, slowly, fiercely, until it falls down with a big THUMP, but without any shards.

"You will get a neat little present."

I have Ruby's route about 99% planned out, but nothing really written besides the base structure in my Excel flowchart.

I have a couple points for the other girls, but I'd say they're maybe 1-5% planned at best.

I never said it was bad, just that it was unaffiliated. I started mine before they started theirs. They also publicly posted a few of their ideas, which made me have to scrap some of mine since I didn't want to look like I was copying them. Octi being in charge and Marsy being the lead artist cemented my involvement, though.

Now, you could argue that us being okay with what Ciel with did leads to Izzy not understanding why we're upset with her. But keep in mind that Izzy was upset that we were okay with it, and clearly still was. So that'd kinda go against how she would feel.

Gently you start to coerce the emotions from underneath you, black mist starts to creep on the ground. Its form briefly takes the shape of a thin wolf, eyes revealing an insatiable hunger for power.

Cinder doesn’t notice it, as she focuses on you.

Her arrow flies whistling in the air. You dodge left trying to get away, but the arrow slices into your shoulder before you could fully move.

A blinding pain is set afire beneath your skin, as if the affected wound had acid on it. The arrow then shatters to dust once it impacts the ground.

“In this fight you barely touched this man. Underestimating him was your greatest mistake, and for that you lost the match.”

Cinders eyes grow wide.

You pump your hand in the air with a silent “YES”.

Salem lets go cinder.

“For your foolishness you will be punished later. For now you are dismissed.”

Cinder turns to leave her step slightly limping from the pain and stiff with anger.
