Tulpa Thread.
a e s t h e t i c edition

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

How many of you have wonderlands? does the wonderland have a specific name? how big is it?

I have quite a big wonderland, but it started as a very small grassy field in the afternoon or at sunset. its really big now. I gave my tulpas complete creative control over the wonderland

I have a wonderland, it's a kind of tall grass valley surrounded by mountains. There's other areas, like a rainy forest and some foothills into different more mossy mountains, they get connected to the main area a different way almost every time.

I'm new to the term 'tulpa', but am nonetheless very interested. I began simulating what you would call a wonderland in my head five years ago. While not everything is filled, it is an alternate reality consisting of several planets. This whole thing was a place for me to escape to, with different people to talk to (both alien and human) during my stronger depression. For about the past two years I've been thinking strongly about a specific set of characters, and even gave myself a different appearance as well. I've mainly been focusing on a girl, but I'm unsure whether she's become a full-fledged tulpa yet, though I do think of her a lot and she seems to have a distinct personality. I have researched little into the subject of tulpa creation and would appreciate any advice. Thanks

My wonderland is mainly inside a building with doors to whatever sort of room or other location I need at the time. It used to have a specific layout, but at some point it just became easier to have doors to non-specific locations. My tupa informs me that it does still have a specific layout, but I keep changing everything because I am forgetful and stupid.

Making the main area inside a building with no windows or anything is mainly because I am terrible at visualization and need an area without too many things to focus on at once to start off in. In retrospect, I am unsure about where the light in the place actually came from, but there are now chandeliers.

As a serious answer, some tulpas are lewd because of the way they're made. People often have common lewd thoughts, and early tulpas are pretty much sponges for any attention or drifting thoughts. So, some tulpas who were created when the host was very horny very often may be more lewd (even if the host loses their libido later) than one who was made by someone without an active sex drive.

There are things you can do during active forcing time. I personally am at the point where active forcing is no longer about development, but rather just setting aside time to just spend with them. When I was developing them, I had a couple of methods I used to sort of flesh them out, and hear them better. Asking them questions, listening or feeling for responses. I think in the earlier stages it's more important to feel for your tulpa rather than listen for them to speak. Emotional responses and head pressures usually come before any sort of wordage. This is not always the case, however. Everyone's brain works differently. There are some who are better at visualizing things, and others that are better at hearing things that cannot be heard. I always think of it like... If you're the kind of person who can picture a person or place in your head really well, then work on visualization earlier on. If you're the kind that can bring a song to your mind and practically hear it down to the last drum beat, then perhaps try to work on speaking to this formless entity first. After all, a tulpa doesn't necessarily need a form to exist. I think I'm rambling at this point.

>>
>>7166350
After parroting your tulpa for about a year, chances are that your tulpa is already vocal. You can't really screw up all that much through parroting. Maybe delay progress for a bit.
You will probably feel your tulpa trying to form sentences by herself at some point. She might still need a little help to form her thoughts into sentences, but she will eventually learn how to speak herself, needed little to no help from you anymore. If you ignore her doing that, then she might just will herself to push through your parroting and tell you to stop talking for her.
Either way, being scared about it probably the most detrimental thing to do.

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like this. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. This character could not possibly be anymore me. It’s me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that this character is me. This character is me, it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that this character is not me is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and this character side by side, you’d see no difference. I can safely look at this character every day and say “Yup, that’s me”. I can practically see this character every time I look at myself in the mirror. I go outside and people stop me to comment how similar I look and act to this character. I chuckle softly as I’m assured everyday this character is me in every way. I can smile each time I get out of bed every morning knowing that I’ve found my identity with this character and I know my place in this world. It’s really quite funny how similar this character is to me, it’s almost like we’re identical twins. When I first saw this character, I had an existential crisis. What if this character was the real me and I was the fictional being. What if this character actual became aware of my existence? Did this character have the ability to become self aware itself?

>They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories.

How do tulpas have free will if free will doesn't exist?
>>
>>7171976
Well, see, free will may not exist, but it is what I'd call a `useful illusion.' While believing you have free will may not be a belief which is verifiably true, it is a belief which generally leads to greater happiness (in those who have been predestined to believe in it), as a feeling of personal agency is important to human happiness. So, even if we truly do not have any free will whatsoever, which is most likely true, it is useful to believe in it regardless.

Basically, the statement in the OP is a totally good one to make.

There are many tulpamancers that come upon this phenomenon, and become interested. They dive deeper, and eventually some will end up creating a tulpa, or struggling to do so until they give up, or see some semblance of progress. The important thing to remember when creating a tulpa is that you are in fact creating another consciousness within your mind. One with its own hopes, dreams, loves, hates, and aspirations. You should remember as well that they will continue to be with you for years and years throughout your life. Stopping, or moving onto the next big thing or internet trend will subsequently starve and erase this other being that you created. If you decide to read the guides and FAQs about tulpamancy, and create one, I urge you to remember this fact. Throughout the years, I've met so many tulpamancers, and some of them seemed to have such great promise. Then, be it quickly, or slowly, they have stopped. Please if you create a tulpa, know that while it is fascinating, it is also a responsibility. Don't take it too lightly, and don't bring another being into existence only to forget about it later.

I started lurking again these past few days and it's worse than when I used to be active half a year or a year ago or so.

The community is just not what you'd used to find on 4+4 or even /x/ during the old days. Now it's just mainly people from tumblr or /co/ I feel. A quick look at the reaction images and the fact that a "discord" is now the norm pretty much sums it up. No offense of course, have fun guys.
>>

The discord sucks. It's full of tulpa.info-tier autists ans literal retards. I was there since day one and had to leave a few weeks ago because all the cool people left and 12 yo kids started coming from reddit. All they do is shitpost (and it's not even the fun kind of ironic shitpost).

It's really not as bad as you two are making it out to be. The Discord does have shitposting, yeah. What IRC doesn't? But I've been there a few months and it's really an okay place. There are experienced tulpamancers there that can actually help you with what you need, and some of the discussions are pretty interesting. Also, I was around 4 years ago when tulpamancy first came to 4chan, and I can tell you that these threads will always go through active spells and less active spells. It's natural, especially as more people do actually go to that horrible autistic Discord and stay there for some reason. Even though it's so horrible. Maybe it's not that bad and you just have a sense of entitlement? Either way, yeah.
>>
>>7187817
>There are experienced tulpamancers there that can actually help you with what you need
And that's where the good points end. Even the main channel feels like one of those channels in the IRC days where people split off into separate channels just to circlejerk. I can't get into that shit anymore, I only have 3 friends from the .info days now after I left it because most of the people I met turned out to be totally shit (if I see a tranny or """genderfluid""" host again I'll flip the fucking house over) and the people I saw on top of the shitposting they did just made me feel like I wasn't going to feel welcome.

Despite my best efforts to enforce the rules in the discord so he would talk in there more often, he ended up getting butthurt about the quality of the place and left.

Since then it's improved under the efforts of me and the main server owner but he's pretty much permanently gone and I don't really miss him, nor does anyone else that much.

Maybe you want to add that people who are here only occasionally don't know the discord well enough to have an informed opinion? That way no one has even a chance to prove you wrong anymore and you always win.

The important thing to remember is that you're all tulpamancers. There aren't that many of you and you shouldn't try to divide yourselves. I'm sure if you just give each other a chance you'll see that the Discord can be a good place for us to talk. I'm thankful for it being a place that we can actually talk and interact with other tulpa. I'm not trying to convince you to go and stay there, but you should give it a chance. For your tulpa to talk. I'm sorry, it just seems like a nice place to me.

Say that then you stupid fuck.
However it still doesn't help your case because I absolutely cannot think of how it could be beneficial to any "quality" when the only reason people would complain about quality are the active users, not the people doing nothing or those that just want to watch conversations, like lurkers on this thread. Any forum or chat that banned long-time lurkers would give off the impression of being elitist or circlejerky, "if you're not in then you're out" sort of deal.

It's also just kinda rude.

They talked once, maybe twice when they came in months ago and then absolutely never again.

When I pruned, there was literally one of those "LE YOU GUISE HAVE SCHIZO" dipshits that just sat here to watch our "psuedo-science bullshit" as he called it.

Then another one who claimed he never had his questions answered despite the fact that our designated help channel is slow enough where I would've absolutely remembered if he had ever asked.

On top of that, majority of people pruned where those had no roles and weren't online at all in the past month coupled with people WITH roles but also have not come online in ages.

Finally, when I issued the warning for the pruning, a lot of people lying around actually came out and asked for hep and they got it. Now they regularly chat with us and ask for help as needed.

And to add, it's not rude. The other admin and a quite a few people agreed it would be for the best.

This whole tulpa thing... I wan't to believe, but I can't. It seems too good to be true. Help me.
>>
>>7227102
What's too good to be true about it?

It requires a lot of hard work and commitment. Plus the responsibility to take care of a tulpa is not one to put lightly. Having another consciousness in your mind means that sacrifices will need to be made and challenges will be faced. It's not a walk in the park, or some magical gift that floats down from your personal version of heaven. The difficulties you face on this journey are part of why it's so meaningful in the first place.
>>
>>7227341
Still, I bet that the process (even if it's hard and requires commitment) is going to be fun and rewarding. And once the tulpa is "complete" you don't have to face all the challanges alone. And you basically have a super best friend who undersands you like no one ever will. And you can do all kinds of awesome stuff with them. Forever. The pros easily make up for the cons. It really seems too good to be true imo.
>>
>>7227669
Well, no one here can objectively prove it to you. It's an entirely subjective experience that's supported by anecdotal evidence. The only way to know if it's real is to try it.
>>
>>7227708
I'd like to try but this only works if you BELIEVE it will work, right? Or could I make a tulpa just by following the steps and forcing even if I don't think it's going to work?
>>
>>7227817
Well, this is a mental practice, so your beliefs on it will affect it. Think about it in the reverse, not in terms of belief, but in doubting.

If you sat down to force, or meditate, and you had thoughts like "this isn't going to work," or "this is pointless" swimming in the back of your mind, it will make you more likely to ignore signs of sentience, or disregard progress in areas like visualization.

So it's not a matter of "you have to believe in the magic for it to be real" but rather you should open yourself to the experience and reign in those doubtful thoughts to give it an honest attempt.

bum
>>
>>7227669
If the process were fun and rewarding, we wouldn't constantly have people who think tulpas are a great idea and fully believe that it'll work, only to give up after not receiving signs of sentience within a week or two because they realize that the process actually sucks and only the results are interesting.

Basically, it's like learning to speak a language or play an instrument or anything else that's easy once you already know how to do it. Being able to do it sounds like a great idea, and you might already love the things other people have done with it, and can certainly imagine all of the benefits of being able to do it yourself.

But then you start to try to actually learn it and unless you happen to already have a fascination with linguistics or music theory or whatever, the process isn't fun or interesting. And then you grow frustrated because no matter how many rules and methods you drill into your brain, you still aren't going to actually be able to do anything with it yet, because the whole thing doesn't work until you've learned enough of it. So you're stuck putting forth tons of effort for results that you begin to doubt will ever come.

And then if you do stick to it and finish, there's no guarantee that the results will be great. You might have enjoyed those foreign shows, but now that you know the language, you realize that the dialogue is generic and the translators just did a great job localizing it. Some people might make great music, but yours might suck because you understand the theory but lack the creativity you thought you had. You might have envisioned a super best friend tulpa, but just because they understand you doesn't mean that they have to like you or share any of your interests.

You're essentially paying upfront for something that might be really good, but not guaranteed to be, that will change your life and can't easily be undone afterward.

The same way that you'd get anybody else to like you. The difference is that the tulpa will know exactly what you're trying to communicate to it and why, even if you're socially retarded or just really bad at expressing yourself, so it really comes down to just not being a jackass about things. Honestly, as long as you give them the same respect you'd give any other person and you don't abuse them or anything stupid like that, then it's generally safe to assume that you'll get along just fine.

If you're making a tulpa, it's probably best not to even worry about "what if they don't like me?" and just treat them from the very beginning like they're already a really good friend. When they do gain sentience, they'll know that you been spending all of this time trying to be a decent person that cares about them and they'll most likely return the sentiment. Even if they end up having completely different interests from you and even think that some of your interests are retarded, they'll still consider you their friend-who-likes-dumb-things. And isn't that what friendship is all about?

Also, keep in mind that they can be your friend but still not like certain things about you, like if you're lazy or whiny or whatever, just like there will probably be things that your tulpa does that annoy you, like being lazy or whiny or whatever. That doesn't mean that the friendship is ruined forever. Talk shit out, work out a solution if it's actually a problem, and suddenly your friendship is that much closer because you care enough to try to work together on not annoying each other for all of eternity.

Basically, just try not to be a complete asshole and you most likely won't ever have a problem with your tulpa not liking you. But if you do have that problem, not being an asshole is also the way to fix it.

If God exists he sure is a Hitlerstalin 2.0
>>
>>7234922
According to the bible, God has a far, far higher killcount than Hitler and Stalin combined. He as well killed people simply for not believing in his ideology, or just not believing well enough.

If God was a tulpqmancer, people on here would be disgusted by him.
>>
>>7235046
He's a terrible tulpamancer anyway. Who the fuck makes over 7 billion tulpas? And then he doesn't spend any time forcing with them, so of course they aren't developing properly.
>>

You know, some christian people say they can literally talk to god.
I think they've literally created a god tulpa in their minds
>>
>>7238506
Think about it, praying is quite literally forcing
>>
Has your tulpa changed your opinion on a topic that you were stubborn with? I generally didn't care about religions at all, and just passed myself as an atheist if someone asked me. I was far away from your edgy fedora tipping atheist but one day my tulpa asked me this "Why don't you believe in a God? Aren't you a lesser God to a degree? You're a God who's capable of creating someone sentient, perhaps there's a stronger God out there who can create not only sentient personalities, but everything physical as well. Maybe humans are just tulpas in a stronger Gods mind. The 'god' image in your head might not be the actual God"

This was a legitimately good philosophical question that made me question my beliefs, I'm way more open to the idea of a God now.

I have 'two' wonderlands. One is a cozy cabin on hillside surrounded by forests. It doesn't have a name.

The other wonderland is more abstract. It's a long, flat plane, with the floor being covered in about two inches of water. It doesn't serve much of a purpose, but when me and my tups go to our wonderland, we pass through this place before getting to the cabin. If we ever had another place, we'd probably also access it through here, thus we named it the 'Thought Junction'.

How much time do you spend forcing a day? Divide it into passive and active.
How long have you had your tulpa?
>>
>>7253713
2 Hours, all active. Passive is impossible.
1 year, 4 days
>>
>>7253713
Mostly passive while alone or at work, no active unless we both want a session of that or are going for imposition

1 year, 10 months, 14 days
>>
>>7253713
3-4 hours, mostly passive, around half an hour active.
Four months.
>>
>>7253713
I passive force all day, every day. And I active force for 15 minutes a day. It's weird calling it forcing now, because to me it's just spending time with your tulpa. Keep in mind there is no required forcing time
>>
>>7253713
I don't active force nearly as much as I should. I passive force most of the day, though, the only time I don't talk to my tups, usually, is when I'm focusing on stuff.

At the height of my active forcing, I'd probably do it about an hour a day.

First tup is about 1 year and 1 month, other tups are about 3 months.
>>
can you make a tulpa with no active forcing at all?
>>
>>7254505
Yes, you can just talk to your tulpa until they talk back but active forcing is necessary for grounding yourself and things like enhancing visualization.

Any type. A feeling that feels foreign to your own and surprises you. These are most likely her and they are referred to as "emotional responses" in the tulpa world. It's often the way young tulpa first communicate. If you think you're puppeting, then simply wait for her to move on her own without willing her to do so.

Of course, the alternative is never even giving them the opportunity to even have those hopes, dreams, loves, and joys at all, because you were selfish and decided that they didn't deserve to exist because it might make you feel bad.

Hi, I have just began getting making a tulpa. I was imagining what I wanted her to look like, and all the sudden it started to talking to me. I don't know if it was her or just my imagination. But I got an amazing adrenaline pumping feeling in my body. Please tell me what that was.

>I got an amazing adrenaline pumping feeling in my body
normally means you did it, afaik everyone feels this when the tulpa first acts on their own
how long have you been at it
>>
>>7266857
Literally like 30 minutes. I'm reading an article and then I'm like okay, let me imagen its core traits so I sit back and close my eyes and I'm thinking hmm... And then I hear her say hey and I know in the back of my mind that it's me saying it a little but I responded to her and then she said hey I'm your tulpa or something like that I cannot remember but then she said I'll let you get back to imagening me.

>>
>>7267715
w-what... really? I thought it was bad to do lewd stuff to your tulpa before it's complete and vocal
>>
>>7267941
That's because of moral issues, not because it wouldn't work.
It is general seen as an issue because your tulpa might have problems with being a "fucktoy" to you, or that they were unable to give consent, which makes it rape.

They might also end up enjoying all the love you give them though. No sex is just the safe route.
>>
>>7268087
Sounds like a great way to repress and demonize the idea of sexuality to the tulpa.
>>
>>7267941
Technically, any interaction with your tulpa, whether it's good or bad, will work. The only reason sex before sentience is generally considered to be bad is because you're forcing them to do something that they might not be okay with, with no way to tell whether they are or not, and that's usually not a good way to start any kind of relationship with someone you are going to have around for the rest of your life.
>>
>>7268087
If you went about this right you could achieve a submissive mindfucked into enjoying the lack of control tulpa.
>>
>>7268477
Wouldn't it be infinitely easier just to make a servitor with no free will who's only purpose is to beg for you to fuck them senseless?
>>
>>7268506
Probably but not nearly as satisfying. I feel I should mention mindfucking people into happy submissive playthings is a fetish of mine.
>>
>>7268458
If you do it right, sure. It doesn't really matter all that much as long as you both are happy in the end.
