Growing up in Northern California, the Western Fence Lizard, aka, the Blue Belly Lizard, was probably the most common species of lizard I've seen. While they're rather plain in appearance compared to a lot exotic lizards, I'm really fond of this breed. I'd catch them all the time and carry them around. While most of them were probably scared to death, it seemed like they didn't mind being carried around once they got used to it.

The only Dragon Quest games I have played in any significance is the original Warrior on the NES and DQ8, so I couldn't say if 7 is good or not. I think those two games were 'okay". Really simple, but solid, jrpgs.
As for Builders, I honestly adore this game so far. I only just picke dit up yesterday but I've been playing it constantly since, I've already put in 12 hours.
It's like if you mix Minecraft and Terraria and put it in the setting of Dragon Warrior. I got it because I had a strong itch for Minecraft but I didn't really to buy and play, well, Minecraft; and Terraria is just incredibly boring and stole to me. DQB is single player, no multiplayer, and it's not as open as Minecraft or Terraria but it is still very vast with good building mechanics that feel great on console. Pretty much every single instance of me attempting to play Minecraft multiplayer has just been nothing but awful so I'm glad its just singleplayer. I wanted a Minecraft with a stronger emphasis on questing and rpg gameplay and that's what i've gotten so far.
If that sounds like it interests you, you should try it out.

It just happened to come into my during a time when i was first starting to play Romancing Saga: Minstrel Song, which is a one of my favorite games of all time that I still play every now and then and SaGa games are far more deep and complex than DQ8.

SaGa is a series that loves to not explain its mechanics. The exception is Minstrel Song but even that is bare minimum. SaGa IS harder than the average jrpg but that's mostly due to the learning curve.
For that same reason, it's one of the most rewarding jrpgs I've ever played.
SaGa Frontier on PS1 is probably the easiest to get into but I started with Minstrel Song and that one is my favorite.

The epitome of this issue of not explaining is Unlimited SaGa. If you look most reviews, it would mostly have scores of 5/10 or 2 out 5. In actuality, if you can learn the game, you'll find that its a rough diamond.
The odd thing is, Unlimited was released in Japan along with its strategy guide, which served as its manual, ala The Players Handbook of Dungeons and Dragons, but the US release had just a shitty 20 page manual that didnt anything you really needed to know. This really left a bad taste in the mouths of the people that most likely only bought the game for the demo of Final Fantasy X-2, which is slapped on the main menu, like an ugly blemish (see: Zone of the Enders 2 including a demo of Metal Gear Solid 2). This is really unfortunate because Unlimited is one of the most progressive (actual progressive, not sjw """progressive"") jrpgs to ever exist and it really deserved to have better documentation to get new players into it.

Sorry for the long reply but SaGa is my favorite jrpg series and i'd really like people to get into them.
Pic related is Gulla Ha, a character from Minstrel Song. he is also one of the best character in the game due to good stats and a high LP (life points) count.

I dont think its bad, in fact, this style seems rooted in the kind of pulp comic comic style of the 80's and 90's and artists like Chris Sawyer are clearly not amateurs. Their style is of different area than most of the art that gets posted here.

I agree with the "so about those dragons" approach. It's pretty safe to start off as passive as possible. If they're insecure about it, they'll likely react defensively if you're too suspiciously forward about it, so acting as if gaining a growing interest might be a good way to get them to open up.

The manga and light novel come recommended by my friends but the overall reception is mixed, some love it some hate it.

The lizardmen arc is just the one arc and then they're hardly seen again, but during the lizardmen arc they completely steal the show and become the protagonists for a while. There's updates on them from time to time, like those two do get married and have a kid as a happy couple, but only now in the latest part of the light novel series (way ahead of the manga) that beefy lizardman bursting in on the couple is a main character again, acting as a guide for the Overlord through the dwarven lands.

Great mod. I loved it. I recommend playing it on the hardest difficulty though because you are rather overpowered. Get the crows as soon as you have 2000 coins. And the shop sells red spheres in case holding one BFG at a time is not enough.
