Sadly, I'm not the customization expert of the thread, but I'm pretty sure Xweetoks, Zafaras and, Aishas can look good in a lot of things.
Draiks and Rukis have good options, but are Limited Edition.

Maybe Kyrii, Korbats, and Skeith could also look good? I'm not entirely sure, and might leave it to someone else.

For now, if it may help you decide, several fansites have tools to help you see how pets can look. I usually use JN, but Sunny Neo also works well for checking out pet colours.

Of course, training is also a good incentive.
Or releasing a new Pirate Petpet to be sold in the main shops.
Nonetheless, giving people an incentive to spend their dubloons would definitely help their value.
Of course, I've already been hoarding all my dubloons; I only train my non-battle pets when it's free, and/or I have a Training Fortune Cookie. Sadly, I have none, and lack the NC to get one.

Anyway, what random boons did RNG/the loli Wockies bless you to pick from with?
Personally, I'm happy with Cartogriphication, but Right Round Round Round is also nice.
If my choices were worse, or I was lazier, I could pick Strength of Mind so I could fight with my pet that has very high intelligence, and use that as strength, and KO stronger challenges than usual.
Still, already done Faerie Caverns for today. Unsure if Cartogriphication reopens them, but whatever. I'll probably hold off on picking a boon for now.

Yeah, looking at the Prize Pool, Ugga Dome has some interesting prize pools for challengers.

For example, according to JN, the Quiggle Warlord on Medium Difficulty (110 starting HP.) doesn't have any challenger exclusive prizes, so you only have to worry about getting the Tyrannian Battledome and Main Prizes.

Also, excluding the Tyrannian Ghoulash, and the Camelior and Mazzew petpets, most Ugga Dome prizes aren't worth much.

Compared to the Ugga Dome's 16 default prizes, the Neocola Dome has 24 default prizes, but it has about 11 or 12 that are worth 100 NP or more instead of only 3 items.
However, it's only the rarer neggs that are worth 1,000 NP or more, so, although I'm inexperienced with both, I'd guess both have roughly the same amount of low-value items, without knowing the drop probabilities.

The Neocola Dome is also a little more lacking on prizes with good shallow or empty individual prize pools.
Only the Space Faerie, on Medium & Hard supposedly, has no items in her prize pool, and Commander Garoo on any difficulty... supposedly.
However, it could be a lack of data-gathering for Commander Garoo, and the Space Faerie starts with.... 550 HP on easy, where she has prizes....
And then on Medium, her starting HP spikes to 11,000, and on Hard, it's 22,000.

Commander Garoo only has starting HP values of 120, 156, & 192, however.
But assuming his prize pool IS empty: Which would you rather do?
Chance getting rare neggs worth a few to several thousand, and items worth a few hundreds....
Or only have the shared Battledome Prize Pool to win prizes from, which is only Bottled Faeries -very low value- but also regularly gives out Yellow and Red Codestones, which are all worth thousands?

Lastly, The Dome of the Deep has 19 prizes, with the okay value Water Pizza and Deluxe Water Pizza, 1, 2 & 5 10 Dubloon coins, okay value Realm of the Water Faeries book, and slightly valuable Necklace of the Water Faerie and 2 plushies.
Its only challengers with no prizes listed are Chiazilla on Hard, and The Drenched on Medium and Hard.

Again, this could be a lack of data gathering for those challengers on those difficulties.
However, Chiazilla's starting HP is 500, and The Drenched start with 600, and on Medium and Hard, both challengers are 15,000 and 30,000 starting HP, respectively.

Really, the Giant Spectral Mutant Walein might be your best bet if you want to dive into -pardon my pun, please- The Dome of the Deep's Prize Pool; On Hard, it gives out Blue, Ghost, Green, default colour and White Walein petpet.
It also gives out only the default colour Walein on Easy and Medium; The other colours are worth just a few hundred NP, and the default colour one is worth almost nothing.
However, a challenger having only one prize in their individual pool is still good, even if it's very low value.

I dunno how commonly they're given out for beating the Giant Spectral Mutant Walein, though.

I'm definitely willing to believe that's a possibility, but if it does turn out some challengers have empty Prize Pools -Like the Quiggle Warlord, who's listed as giving out a Gilded Wing Helm on Easy, and that and a Protective Lime Helm on Hard, and nothing on Medium- then you only obtain the Arena's prizes, and the global prizes, Codestones and Bottled Faeries.

The Ugga Dome may have garbage exclusive prizes, but there's only 16, and many of its challengers are listed as having 3 or fewer prizes on their own pools, on most difficulties.

The Cybunny Scout, for example, doesn't have too much starting HP (90) with only the valuable Cybunny Carrot Stew and Scout Unit prizes, and Magnus the Torch has only 94 starting HP and the valuable Fire Faerie Sword on Easy and Hard, and nothing listed on Medium.


It may be interesting to find out their exact prize pools and prize drop probabilities. The Ugga Dome has very consistently shallow prize pools, with very valuable items in the individual prize pools, even though there's mostly junk in the arena prize pool.

My training regime simply consists of training, Turmaculus, and any random faerie quests I happen to get. And occasionally finding neggs while restocking.

Basically, Kitchen Quest can be done up to 10 times per day, and can increase a random stat of a random pet of yours by 1 when you complete a quest.

Similarly, with Scratchcards, some can grant a random pet of yours a level upon completion, assuming you get the right spaces.

For Ice Caves Scratchcards, it's Terror Trove (2nd most common.) and rarer and for Deserted Fairground, it's Festering Fortune (3rd most common) and rarer.

Desert Scratchcards can't award levels, IIRC.

It's because of these levels or stat points for these being awarded randomly that having fewer pets on an account where you do training is recommended; Otherwise, you end up getting stat points or level on pets you don't intend to use for battle.

Luckily, no other training method works this way.

You can also visit Coltzan's Shrine every 12 hours for a chance at stat points (including level) to your active pet.
Some of the higher, much rarer rewards of the Fruit Machine give levels and/or strength points.


Other than Birthday Cupcakes, various items can increase the stats of your pets when consumed.

The Wishing Well can also help.

You can make 7 wishes every 12 hours, and as long as you donate at least 21 NP per wish, you're eligible to get it granted.
However, it only grants Rarity 89 or lower items, and it only checks item names to see if they CONTAIN whatever you wished for; If you wished for a Negg of some sort, it might grant you the Rarity 80 book "101 Negg Recipes" for example.

Nonetheless, you can use the Well to wish for Yellow Codestones, or stat-boosting items, or better yet....

You can just use an item database, like JellyNeo's or NeoCodex's, & track the most valuable rarity 89 or lower items, & wish only for those. Then sell 'em & use that NP for your training funds.
For example, The Well is how many got a Turned Tooth recently, IIRC.

Dragonmars was frozen, so Novalind's petpage is now at the default.
Neopets is excluded from the Wayback Machine, and I don't know of any other lists of Neopets Height and Weight Data.
I also don't know why they were frozen, nor any alternate sources of such data; Neocolours only has the height, not the weight, and not the averages, maximum, or minimum.

And I can't find any archives or caches that have the version of Neopets.com/~Novalind that DO have the data.

Well, my reason's training, but arguably, a Training Fortune Cookie might be better than a Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie.

My Battledome pet is level 250, exactly, allowing her to simultaneously train at both the Mystery Island Training School, & the Secret Ninja Training School.

A FQFC gives you 9 days where you get 1 guaranteed Faerie Quest a day.
A Training Fortune Cookie gives you 5 days where each training course has the time it takes to complete reduced by 30% to 75%, with the reduction always being a multiple of 5.

Assuming ideal results for training a level 250 pet....
With a FQFC, I'd get only Battle Faerie Quests, which each give +3 each in HP, Strength & Defense. Or Faerie Queen Quests, which are 2 levels, 5 HP, 5 Strength.
Thus, the ideal yield for a FQFC is 81 or 108.

With a Training Fortune Cookie....

7200 minutes. The longest time for a reduced training course at the Mystery Island Training School is 16 hours, & for the Secret Ninja Training School, 2 hours, 48 minutes. 30% reduction in both cases.
With a 75% reduction, it's 6 hours at MITS, & 1 hour at SNTS, per course.
Of course, the time reduction can be any multiple of 5 between 30 & 75 percent.

So....

5 days=7200, minutes or 120 hours.
Assuming a 30% time reduction (the minimum) for each course....
That's enough time to start & complete 7 MITS courses & 42 SNTS courses, with starting an 8th & a 43rd with reduced time being possible, assuming I'm very punctual about starting & finishing courses.
So about 49 to 51, assuming worst time reductions, and I'm willing to sleep only 2 hours & 48 minutes at a time.

Or, assuming ideal time reductions (75%), 119 completed, 120th started with reduced time, and 19 completed, with a 20th started with reduced time, for about 138 to 140.


Needs for sleep & other stuff aside, I like what seems to be an average of 93.5 to 95.5 stat points gained versus the FQFC's "ideal result" of 81 or 108 stat points. Yes, I'm a fucking training nut.

Oh, and yes I know that Training Fortune Quest Cookies cost 25 NC more than Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies, and that the Codestone costs would be very high, even with as "few" as 49 courses completed.

I'm willing to cope with that.

Also, another pro to Training Schools is choosing what stat points you get, and the potential for Super Bonuses, which don't seem too uncommon for me, and I've heard can go as high as 6; I've gotten ones as high as 4, myself, IIRC.

Not to mention, even if I got Refreshed Quest Request, Faerie Quest RNG (Both in which you get and what they request is considerable.) and some of the better ones, like the Battle Faerie and Faerie Queen Fyora ask for high rarity items that could carry a risk of being much harder to obtain &/or more expensive than just codestones, potentially meaning not completing the quest, & so no stat points, or paying out hard for it.
And of course, there's the possibility just not getting a useful faerie.

Sorry if anyone minds all my extended explanatory exposition endeavours, and I hope it's found to be helpful, informative, & accurate, perhaps even in others' own training efforts!

I've neglected to update my BD pet's set a bit, but....

Scarab Ring, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise, Scroll of Knowledge, Multi Barbed Ice Spear, Dangerous Maraquan Yo-yo, Lesser Healing Scroll, Yooyu Knuckle Duster, Yooyu Knuckle Duster.

But again, I don't update my pet's set very often; As long as I'm training and fighting faction opponents I mostly only use Lens Flare (A Level 50 new-style Faerie Ability that freezes the opponent for one round, usable once per round.) and Yooyu Knuckle Dusters to one shot my opponent.


If there were plot opponents and such out, I might put a bit more consideration to my defensive equipment, depending on what strong opponents there are.


Anyway, updating your set.... Well, that depends a lot on your budget, kind of on what level your pet is, and what you're upgrading from.

I'm certainly not using the strongest weapons, and you may be willing to sacrifice power to save NP.

So yeah. If you're asking about upgrading your set, what are your stats, level, and current equipment and/or Faerie Abilities?

I earned close to 10,000 Prize Points in the Altador Cup, albeit, grinding to All-Star, but yeah.

ANYWAY.... A Yooyu Knuckle Duster deals 7 Physical Icons, and 7 Light Icons. Not ideal icon diversity, & physical and light aren't too hard/uncommon of icons to block, but still great.

Sadly, I neglected to wish/restock for Shurikens when it was plausible/practical.

2 of all 7 icon types, for 14 total, 50% chance to freeze, & while it "breaks for the battle" after freezing -pretty sure that means you just can't use it again after the freeze, unlike Once Per Battle, which is one use per battle, no condition meeting for disabling involved- 14 icons and freezing is still INCREDIBLE.

The catch? While the Shuriken weapon was once Rarity 87, & only like 250,000 NP to buy from users, it's now Rarity 99, & JN prices it at around 12.5 MILLION Neopoints. Yes, really.


But yeah. Budget. Dr. Sloth's Bath Buddy is another good option. 10 Water icons, 2 Fire, 2 Dark, multiuse, & 2 million with no discount. You can get 3% if you're account is old enough, & on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Or a 10% discount from a Random Event. No, the discounts don't stack, sadly.

Lastly, there's the Turned Tooth. 500K priced by JN, 2 Million priced by NC. 8-12 Earth Icons, & 5-10 Physical Icons. Rarity 83, so you can get it via the Wishing Well, also.

And have you considered a Yooyu Knuckle Duster? Even if it is 7 Physical and 7 Light, its price is great for 14 icons. Although, JN's pricing is out of date, now that I look at it (They last priced it on January 4th, 2017.) and Trading Post prices are around 110K or more.

There's also an auction for one going on asking for 100,000 NP for it. Minimum bid increment is 1 NP, and the auction ends in 8 to 24 hours. No bids yet.

All this, of course, assumes, of course, that you don't just have 180 Prize Points to spend at the Altador Cup Prize Shop right now, lol.
Oh, and the Floud Bomb is an option if you're okay with Once Per Battle items. It might be a little pricey, only on the TP in lots with other items and not much info right now, and Rarity 99, but a last known price of 800,000 NP -Albeit, on November 3rd, 2015, at a 1,100,000 NP drop from its September 23rd, 2015 price.- could be nice compared to some other weapons with that many icons, but 5 Earth, 5 Light, 3 Fire isn't THAT bad.
But if you can get pretty much any other 13-iconer or higher, just forget the Floud Bomb.


Also, dang. Level 400. Wonder what the strongest pets are in /npg/ right now.
I've no actual idea, but I'd like to think my Battle Pet has at least the "Wooden Medal" (4th place) even though I have little to no idea of the actual pet stats around here.

And it sells for over 100K on the Trading Post currently.

This is why I laugh at people who didn't grind in Altador Cup 2016.

I already have 2, so I'm probably gonna buy several before the next AC starts, or near whenever the Prize Shop closes, so that I'll have a ton to sell when the supply is a lot less renewable.

Or they'll be worthless because some new weapon powercreeped them and they become a lot less valuable, I dunno, lol.

Also, wow. My pet probably hits only around a little under a 1050 HSD total.


As for which weapon....

JN's Battlepedia has these notes on the Hasty Mace:

Trials: 3000
Minimum: 13 icons
Maximum: 29 icons
Mean: 16.64 icons (10.3 earth, 6.34 air)
Mode: 16 icons

The Trident doesn't have any notes listing test results, but they do have a min max & average chart & such info:

Minimum: 17.00
Maximum: 24.00
Mean: 18.34

Looking at the reviews, Earth & Air is a hard combo to block. Air is very difficult to block especially, Earth kinda easy, but not much can easily shut down both entirely.

Physical is easy to block, and there are plenty of options to block Water, but shutting down lots of Water icons isn't as easy.

If you want to 1-shot opponents for prize-grinding while you train, the Trident has 4 more minimum icons, but 5 less maximum icons, and while it has no trial/test numbers, and its mean icons is 18.34 (It deals 5 icons of Physical, but 11.25 to 19 Water, hence the odd number.) which is higher than the Hasty Mace's 16.

Being honest, I'm not good at working out what the damage probabilities for weapons. Tougher math isn't my strong suit.

With that in mind, though, I might recommend you Daily Neo's Battlepedia, as they're good about having probabilities on the item pages:

I guess, all in all, I'd choose the Trident. 1-player opponents are much worse at blocking mass water icons than other players' Neopets ("2-player opponents".) and it has the higher minimum & average icon numbers, it seems like, going off what limited information I've seen.

Air & Earth is a strong combo, so the Hasty Mace does have that appeal, and the higher -but much rarer- max icon yield.

The Hasty Mace also has being 2 million Neopoints cheaper in its favor at the Hidden Tower. With a 10% Discount (The most), it's 6,300,000 NP to the Trident's 8,100,000 NP.

When would I ever need 50 Dubloon Coins? I've got three of them somehow and I don't know what to use them on.

You could use 'em for training, buying Krawk Island Petpets.... Although, I'm not sure if the restocking system is different there, and it's also possible people may have the petpet prices as almost impossible to profit off of, assuming people keep up with Dubloon values and how many Dubloons each petpet costs.
May wanna look it up on the Item DB.

You could also hope for a new Smuggler's Cove item.

Or, of course, you could go and gamble them at the Golden Dubloon.

Check their pages, and in most cases, they're not priced, usually because they're unpriced, and I'm pretty confident many would sell for lots.
Easy sells too, as I'm pretty sure most, or all of them, qualify as Gourmet Foods.

But why do I say you can "gamble" your Dubloons there?

Because to obtain them, you have to get them taken home as "leftovers", which is RNG, as opposed to just having them automatically fed to your pet(s) off-screen by an NPC.
Only then, when you get them as leftovers, will you get them as items in your inventory, which you can actually sell for a profit.

You may want to read the guide for more info, of course.

For example: "As a note, your pet will not receive Gourmet Food Club points for eating at the Golden Dubloon. Your pet must instead consume the leftovers via your Inventory to get the credit."

Humorous to me, but yeah. That, among other details, is in the guide.

Honestly, I follow the majority because it's what the majority joined, and I believe that offers the greatest chance of winning.
If you want, I can seek out actual numbers from the Neoboards, and post them.

There's also who's won when as a possible factor to consider.

However, if I had my way, I would have joined Seekers this round. I greatly prefer Bank Bribery to Cartogriphication, even though the latter's okay, too.

I tell /npg/ who I feel they should join because I honestly believe how many fight for who has a big influence and I want /npg/ to get to enjoy boons, and be on the same side. I already have all the avatars, so those play little to no part in my decisions.
Even if one team has better boons, it may not be worth it to join them if you need to fight like, 4000 battles to get them instead of joining a team winning this round, taking a slightly less favorable win this round, and then going for it again this round.


From what I saw this week, a lot of people were motivated by want for the Order's Avatar anyway.
