Yeah, but they weren't thirsty for their art in particular, they were just thirsty. Spazzy was willing to scratch a niche itch they had for free. It's a freebie so beggars can't be choosers. Alright, if you want to gain weight really the best way is just to eat more and enjoy eating. It'll be hard at first, so a good idea is to have plenty of snacks on hand and try to continue munching on them throughout the day. Over time you'll just do it kinda mindlessly and combined with meals, you'll stretch your stomach.

A good way to get extra calories in if you're struggling, however, is to make a gainer shake. This isn't going to be like, buy the powdered gainer or something and do that, but like... something else entirely.

At the minimum, you need three ingredients:

* Milk, or milk-like liquid. Almond/rice/soy/whatever milk works too if you have issues with dairy. Coconut milk works great, too, but it's not as good for you in the long-term. (Avoid cream, it'll give you the shits worse than what this'll do already to your stomach.)

* A "healthy" oil. Typically canola or olive - I prefer canola just because olive has more of a flavour.

* An emulsifier. I use soy lecithin. You can get it at health food stores and sometimes places like bulk barn. It comes in liquid or granular. I prefer liquid just because the granular one is kinda... yeah. Doesn't dissolve nicely.

To make it actually taste good, you can use anything like:

* Fruit (I like this. Nice bonus vitamin C and some fiber so your shits aren't just watery squirts.)
* Dissoluble fiber, specifically the kind with no grains. See: To avoid the shits.
* Sugar, for taste
* Some sort of flavouring like vanilla extract helps a lot, too.
* Ice cream, yogurt (frozen or otherwise), anything to make it more of a milkshake instead of oily milk slop. It helps A LOT.

I typically throw about a cup and a half, maybe a little more or less of milk into a blender with some fruit, a couple tablespoons (or up to 1/4th cup) of oil, a little vanilla extract and yogurt and some sugar.

Make sure when you use lecithin you only use about half a teaspoon (maybe a little more) to emulsify the oil. Too much will make you hurl, same with too much oil.

You NEED to emulsify the oil using something because it helps to mix the fat in with the rest of the liquid so that it's actually digestable. Without it, the oil tends to pass right through you and you end up getting, surprise, the squirts.

I also recommend maybe halving the recipe, or at least the amount of oil at first because it's a lot of liquid to take down at once and your digestive system will NOT be happy with you in the beginning.

For a while, I had one of these shakes every morning before class at uni. Partially because I wanted to gain weight, and partially because it was infinitely cheaper than any other breakfast and I'm a poor student.

The only reason I stopped was because my boyfriend noticed I was putting on weight rather fast and I got super embarrassed, and stopped. Doctor said my heart and blood pressure was fine, too. But I also tend to walk a lot and make sure to get a serving of veg, meat and startch at every meal otherwise. So if you're gonna do this, you should aim to be a little more healthy in your other meals or at least exercise a tiny bit.

see, my issue with using FA is just supporting it in general. I don't want anything to do with it. It is so badly run, coded/maintained that I don't want to add to it's userbase. Sure, it would just be me, one person, who would make an account. What harm could it do ,right? However, the way I see it, when more people do it or cave in, it inflates FA's numbers. I feel it sends a false message to the owners who see visitor numbers increase that they're doing well and getting more people to join everyday; they should keep doing what their doing. Nothing will change because they don't see a huge withdraw from the userbase. And Artists are just as guilty. They stick to FA because that's all they know. "It's too hard to move" "No one wants to move" "All my userbase is on FA""I make the most money on FA". All excuses that keeps FA in business.

Or maybe I give them too much credit. They probably couldn't care less as long as they get to mine all that sweet user data. And if the site starts under performing, they'd just scrap it and move on. I still don't get why a company like that bought a furry porn website if it wasn't just to inject ads and collect data.

I've never really followed furry drama or anything like that, all I know is there were plenty of FA accounts and artists now gone who had a good part in shaping the utter destruction of my life as a young teen and it's gonna be a shame for that piece of my personal history(and indeed the history of our very young and fucked up community as a whole) to fade away into obscurity. All I'm saying is when you delete a picture from 2006 or 2007 or 2008 you might be deleting the first pic little timmy ever beat his meat to and that's a shame. It made me so happy when somebody uploaded an almost complete don cass / don cassie art archive onto /v/ a few years back.

Is FA really all that bad? considering how most things furry go could you really hope for much better? It's been an invaluable service for me which I've never paid a cent for or been inconvenienced by in any way (aside from users deleting art on it for the most part which I don't really get to complain about, I just don't like), I've already lost sheezyart, it'll be a sad day in my life when FA disappears too.
