I guess the biggest argument, at least for me, tends to come from a more... Domination and degradation angle. Obviously you have the mouth play, though I tend to... While I don't doubt predators could still probably eat prey without any health issues, I figured they evolved out of the habit or mentality of eating mammal prey. It was hinted that prey evolved before predators, which makes sense, so predators probably looked for other food sources while they evolved to fight prey.
