Sometimes. The change normally ends up better than what was planned before, so it can be worth the time to revise it.

Some advice though when doing that would be to save the progress you did make and then compare it to the revised version. That way you can possibly combine ideas and/or remember good bits from the scrapped ideas that you forgot while writing.
