protip: if you're gonna write a character, get the personality traits out of the way first. Nobody wants to husbando someone that's indecisive, or poorly written.

Not trying to give you shit, or start shitposting, but a lot of games get slack because character design isn't fully fleshed out, and then you have people who stop giving a fuck about plot heavy characters. Great example where that happens: Persona 3.

Some advice about character development:
I'm gonna suggest looking at games that are easy to emulate like Golden Sun (GBA) Disgaea 1 (PSP), Zero escape: 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors (DS), Vagrant Story (PS1), Phantom Brave(PSP), Secret of Mana (SNES) and others like those old gameboy zelda games (oracle of seasons and ages) to get an idea on how to craft dialogue for characters to make them fleshed out, deep, memorable, and overall interesting.

I literally spent an hour just fucking around and making different characters to see how the different introductions play out. That was really fucking neat.

I'm currently repping 295x5 and yea, I have pretty damn thick thighs and ass at 190 weight, but even still I feel I'm a ways away from goals.

I don't blame you, its extremely difficult to keep disciplined to keep going by yourself.
Truth be told before I got fit the only on who got me to get out and lift was my brother. After we moved away it was difficult to keep going consistently for a while due to roommate not having motivation to go with me. I've ironed it out though and am still making progress and going consistently even if its by myself now.

Although it would make a world of difference to get to go with someone again

are you looking to lift, or just get fit? There's a difference in cardio and eating right vs lifting and eating to get bulk.
most fitness gyms work well enough for lifting big, its just a lack of facilities and way too many ellipticals that will get in your way
depending on where you live at, you could try an LA fitness or 24 hour fitness. They have pretty good hours plus they are pretty large so you wont always have to fight for weights.

You should count calories and make sure you're getting enough protein.
From there it's all about getting enough calories, exercise and sleep (which is the most important part).

For beginners most people recommend a starting strength program to get basic lifts to workable weights.
3 times a week

5x5 Squat
5x5 Over head press
5x5 bench
then most recommend 5x5 deadlift. And while deadlift is a great exercise, If you have improper form you will destroy your back. That goes for squat to some extent too.
Instead of deads, Id say do 5x5 pendlay row because theres less chance to hurt yourself as long as you keep your back strait.
The most basic rule is that you never want to bend your back or start to slouch over on any exercise

If you cant do squats due to balance or flexibility issues do lunges instead while working on your ability to squat

20 minutes is more than most people who lift run. Thats perfectly fine to add after the lifts as a good last burn off of energy.
I forgot to mention something. You want to push yourself when you lift, but never do more weight than you are comfortable with doing. the reason why I say that is due to seeing so many people with their first go in the gym slap on 1pl8 for bench and drop it on themselves. remember to NEVER sacrifice form for trying to add more weight.
Its the easiest way to hurt yourself and get awkward looks
no one will bat an eye at someone learning squat with 90lbs, but people will give you some looks if they see you trying to half rep 225 while dipping your back or clearly faking being able to lift the weight

myfitnesspal (d o t) c o m is an amazing way to keep cal count and other macro nutrients. Its useful for gauging how much of what you need and what everything gives you

Yes, that's the ideal way to build muscle, expending more calories than you consume.

Yeah that's a good way to look at it.
You basically want to cut carbs and soda.
I know how hard it is, believe me. Have a cheat day once every two weeks or so to kill those cravings.

Also learn how to cook chicken, eggs, beef, fish and vegetables to your preference. Stirfry is the easiest way to go about that, but there's other ways too. Also, get some protein powder to make shakes with to have in between meals to curb your appetite.

Keep that up for a couple months and your dietary preferences will change.
