I have no idea if that was the right decision since I've never been in one of these before, or if the villain team will just be filled with edgemasters who don't actually do any of the challenges, but my decision's already been made so no turning back now.

Surprisingly, and much to my annoyance, the majority seem to have picked Brutes, for the Avatar, and because they're due for a win.
Frankly, I'd pick Seekers, for the Bank Bribery Boon, but it seems like they have a lower chance to win than usual this round.

I hate doing it, but I reccomend joining The Brutes this round, for the reasons mentioned above.

The species doesn't really have any effect on the stats. All it affects are what the pet looks like, what clothes it can wear, some species-exclusive equipment that's almost always worse than the generic equipment, and some pets can eat things that normally can't be eaten. And maybe some other minor things that I overlooked.

Just choose whatever pet you like the most.

Is it just me, or are the "Daily" Challenges stuck on day 1?

In my experience toying with the Create-A-Pet, certain species DO seem biased towards certain stats.
Maybe it's just my imagination, but I'm not so sure pet statistics are ENTIRELY random.
Made a screencap just in case, though.

That said, there's more species differences other than possibly stats (Not to mention starting height and weight.).

Some pets have allergies, which is basically them becoming sick if they eat food items with certain words in their name.
Apples for Kyriis, Cheese for Skeiths (Despite that they can eat, seemingly, literally every kind of item.) and Neggs for Tonu.
Why Tonu need to be ugly, allergic to one of the most notable and delicious Neopian foods, AND Limited Edition, I don't know.

Pteri and Kaus also become bloated from eating worm, and milk food items, respectively.


I'm a little lacking on time, believe it or not, but in the past, pets also had species-specific resistances and weaknesses to the various icon-type, and species-specific attacks, which I can dig up in a little bit if anyone wants.

Pretty sure this GMC began on the 22nd, and like most GMC, the day 1 challenge lasts a day and a half, because the news announcement for the GMC comes late into the day, and TNT wouldn't want people missing out on day-1-completion bonuses because the new news wasn't noticeable soon enough.

That might be true, at least for their starting stats. But if someone is interested in training their pet, what stats they started with will quickly become irrelevant. At best you'll save yourself the trouble of training a few points.

I actually wasn't aware of most of those allergies, other than the Tonu's because of it being a question in the Princess Lunara game. But even if a pet could only eat food with the letter A in it, it'd still be extremely easy to keep it fed with all of the free food that the site gives you. Power rankings?

On a different note, doing the GMC, I've learned a lot more about Imperial Exam after I decided to try and get a good score in it.

For one, a lot of effort was put into it, since you can play in Japanese, and a number of other languages. Of course, it IS only a spelling game.

It's annoying to me as a Canadian, that some Canadian spellings are "incorrect" in place of the American spellings, and there's no Canadian spelling options.

But, more importantly....

This game has fucking great faces.


Sadly, many are difficult to get, because the good ones come when letting in someone incorrect -which loses you a life- and turning down someone who IS correct.
In either case, the Grarrl guard gives a pop-up bubble that darkens the rest of the scenery to tell you about your mistake, and his dialogue and image usually block the view so much that it's nigh-impossible to get good shots of some faces.
With incorrects let in, you can button mash to close it and then screencap, but it's still a window of like, 2 seconds.
And with corrects turned down, there isn't enough time to do that, because it's farther into the building from the line than it is to go off-screen from the front of the line, making turned down corrects go off-screen before you can close that stupid guard window.
Very hard to cap. Wish there was a way to hack it out or such.


But hey. At least the guard has a good face himself.

Oh, and before today, I don't think I knew garrulous was a word. Funny how it kind of fits me.

Honestly, my biggest gripe is the colours, but it's still a petty gripe.
Mostly, it's because, IMHO, some colours look better. Like Striped for the Acaras, and because I have terrible taste in humour, Black/Shadow/Skunk for the Mynci.

It actually wasn't that difficult. The strict timing sort of stops being a problem when you use a screen capture program to record your gameplay and then just grab the frames from the video afterward.
The RNG was slightly annoying, getting two wrongs and a right for every pet, but not too bad. If you want specific colors doing specific reactions though, you're definitely on your own for that.

His intention wasn't to show off the site or make it look good, it was to say "look how shitty this shit site is, isn't it such complete shit?" so that people can laugh at something terrible. His intention was to make the site look as bad as possible and, based on the comments, that's pretty much the image that everybody got of it.

Though it's not like he dissuaded people who were thinking of joining neopets, since most of his 2.9 million subscribers probably had no idea that neopets even existed. So at the very least, he reminded people that neopets was a thing.

Maybe after the flood of people making badly named pets so they can make fun of the site themselves, a few of them will actually be interested enough to stick around.

So you have low rarity weapons, and from the one with the most pre-power creep weapons, leading to REALLY weak stuff.

So, after noticing Freaky Factory was a Challenge today, I went, and spent several hours beating my old high-score of 690.

This GMC has been piss easy, to be quite frank. If you're somehow having any trouble, I can probably give you advice... or if it's one of the few "send scores from all qualifying games from this category" challenges, provide a list of the games to play briefly, and then send any non-0 score in.

Depends on your preference, mostly, I suppose.

GRRRAAAAHHHHHH! is +10% damage, presumably, non-icon, so said extra damage may not be blockable either.
But who would use it when you can't fight faction challengers when you have boons?
Equip ALL THE THINGS lets you equip another item in the Battledome, for a total of 9, instead of 8.
And Doppelganger gives you a chance to sometimes have 1-use items you use in the Battledome replace themselves. You know. Snowballs, Battle Muffins, Novas, some types of Healing items, etc.

Those 3, while nice effects, aren't profitable normally, and aren't practical, unless there's a war or plot going on when you can use them.
Or if Defenders of Neopia comes back.


Right Round Round Round lets you spin each wheel an extra time, without having to wait out the cooldown, per cooldown.
So for example, you can normally spin The Wheel of Mediocrity only once every hour or so. Or 40 minutes. Whatever.
With this boon, you could spin it once, normally, then again, without having to wait out the 40 minutes.
The Wheel of Excitement and Misfortune, every hour and a half/"2 hours or so", and for Knowledge, Mediocrity, and Extravagance, twice per day.
And you could continue getting those extra spins as long as you have the boon.

Scratch Master works the same way as Right Round Round Round, except it's for buying Scratchards from the NPC-run Kiosks.
Considering that all of the Scratchcards are items that you can sell in your shops, trades & auctions, -so long as you don't begin scratching- and such, and the rarer ones can go for hundreds of thousands, if not millions....

Well, it's high-reward. But high-risk, too, because rarity, and because while the cheapest Wheel is 100 NP a spin (Mediocrity.) and the most expensive is Excitement at 500 NP a spin (Excitement.) or 100,000 NP a spin if you count Extravagance....
....Scratchcards go for 500, 600, or 1,200 NP!
So choose carefully!

Well, it apparently counts how many Qualifying Games scores for different games you've submitted for all of the Qualifying Games, during the whole event, as you can see for yourself, here:
