I would have only been annoyed if it was just the fact that she became friends with Peridot and learned to live on Earth off screen, but now she's just straight up acting like she's buddies with the CGs and everyone's just treating her like she got redeemed. She had the potential for a full character arc with tons of character development for everyone, and now the whole cast just acts like it already happened.

The headset was a Logitech wireless G930. The right ear cuff is shot, likely due to a severed connection between the left and right head phone, and it doesn't charge properly and will sporadically and unexpectedly reset/shutdown. I haven't decided what to replace it with yet.

It's only been fucked if the show considers all of her issues with the CG sufficiently resolved. There's was that scene where she jokes about the mirror but it's hard to tell that the show is acknowledging it's in the past and therefore fine to joke about (like Steven's "just like the time you almost let me die!" in LOOOBC), or they're putting on the table (heh) again to remind both the CGs and the viewers that that shit is still a huge problem that'll need to be addressed eventually

We also know less about her past than we do Jasper, so that hasn't been squandered, just untapped. And then the inevitable crazy friction for everyone once Jasper gets out of the bubble

Okay, she acted that way at first, but last episode she was literally acting like they were cool with each other. She was helping them and happily working alongside Garnet and Pearl. Before we're talking about the episode I'd like to get some fundamental things out of the way, if you don't mind.

You're thinking in extremes. I am saying that the show is not obligated to push progression at a fixed pace. The present episode had subtle changes in character and behavior which could be considered minor fluctuations in writing or small signs of new development. Talking about extremes, the notion that each and every conflict and it's resolution is spelled out or discussed with everyone involved in greater detail is ridiculous. That is not how human communication works.

Now something more relating to the episode at hand.

Generally speaking, I have nothing against certain things resolving off-screen. Of course, the core of the conflict between Lapis and the CGs should be resolved in the future to be really meaningful. On the other hand, people have been complaining about Lapis "suddenly" being okay with peridot. That's a case where I am in favor of things happening off-screen because although you could make it interesting enough to knit an episode around it, fact of the matter is that she just got used to her because she lived with her for an extended period of time. That's something that can just occur between somewhat functional adults but is not particularly interesting to watch. Same here: Lapis calming the hell down about her traumatic experience to deal with it in a more level headed way is not something I would personally care to watch. It has now been hinted several times that she reached a point at which she is at least able to talk about it in a coherent, reasonable way. With her actually "joking" about the situation I think we can consider that terminally established. Lapis and Peridot getting lonely was an interesting aspect. Especially Lapis craving people around her was new.

It wasn't spelled out or discussed in any detail at all. One second Lapis doesn't like the CG, the next she's going grocery shopping with them with a smile on her face. That's not how human communication works either, that's how poor writing works.

It already has off screen, which is the main problem of this episode.

Altogether your post was much like the episode, you took a long time to say absolutely nothing and mean absolutely nothing. This show is stagnating and Gem Harvest is a prime example of how having poorly written ideas about how characters should be handled is a great way to make sure your show turns into neither a plot driven show, nor a character driven show. They've planted themselves so firmly in the middle that now neither occur and so nothing occurs.
