Personally the problem I have with it is that family dynamics fuck up the concept of consent a lot. Coercion by power is something people pull all the time at companies, for instance; bringing that into a family home where you have to live with the person only makes it worse.

If a borderline-abusive father starts coming on to his daughter, even if she eventually says "okay", to me it's tainted by the idea that he holds power over her, and even if that never takes solid verbal form ('fuck me or else'), it certainly could lend itself to abuses.

I liked it!
Yes it was very useful, you are right, I should have added more 'pulp' to everything. There were many things that I wanted to add and many situation that I wanted to expand, at least to make them clearer.
For example, in the Gideon scene you can see a little from his answer 'Ah no, HE didn't...' that he knew that it was Manchas that stole the pen. So the shovel hint maybe wasn't a lucky coincidence... However, without additional dialogue this is difficult to extrapolate.
Sadly this week has been extremely busy and this, coupled with my, as you said, harsh style with short phrases (maybe from all the greentexting I do) made the fic short and very to the point, without many additional parts. Also thanks for all the other suggestions, they're very useful.

My only big complaint with this is the prose. I see what you're getting at here. I really do. It's gritty, it's dark, it's cut short and edgy. But it doesn't FLOW. It's damn near incomprehensible at times. I'm not sure if it's the editor in me talking or the reader, but the biggest flaw is the prose.

At times it's quippy and funny, full of life and fun, but other times it just rambles in that cut-short tone you're trying to cultivate that seems to chop everything up into a mess.

Most notable is your intro. It's hard to understand exactly what you're even talking about.

And my god you've got the talent to do it, it's just hard to read sometimes.

I think it could use some cleaning up, some clarification of a lot of things. Most importantly; some slowing down.

Because the prose is simultaneously your strong suite and your weak point. It can be SO good in this piece, and then other times you're several levels above your audience and they're gasping for air. Throw a fish back into water every once in awhile.

Heya buddy! I don't think it wasn't clear enough! I think you're right and it is very stop-and-go.

The intro definitely comes out of nowhere, and it isn't until much later that it becomes clear that its about an ice cream truck. Without knowing its a Cyberpunk TT, the setting is completely devoid of context as well.

In terms of the structure, there's just not a lot to connect every one of the segments together, and the dry tone probably doesn't help distinguish when transitions occur. There's probably also a lot of signal-to-noise confusion about what's important to the plot and what's icing on the cake.

Slowing down... Any particular segments you think are rushed or don't have enough of a connection to the next section? Off the top of my head I wonder whether the 'one-star review' gag works or is just a strange segment that's too long and doesn't add anything to the story proper, and whether transition between 'i'm in debt forever abloo bloo bloo' to 'huzzah macguffin saves the day yay' works with the weird corporate email transition?

As always, would appreciate any feedback or comments on it. I tried to use first person perspective, I thought that it would let me write a little punchier. Not sure if that worked as intended, I definitely had a harder time keeping to the same tone for the protagonist.. Last time I did a greentext it was full of multiple-line sentences, I think I did a better job of keeping them short this time.

Also, it's not Jack Savage, I was trying to go for a direct descendant who took up his famous relative's job in the Shadowbun era. Threw him in there for an excuse to have a smarmy bastard of a controller, and I couldn't think of a better choice for it!

Even if interspecies isn't uncommon in Zootopia, I'm sure a lot of mammals frown upon it, moreso if it's a pred-prey relationship. The whole LGBT thing would probably only be a problem with specific individuals and extreme fundies.

I like your use of first person, I was a little confused for the first few lines but I picked it up after that. I think it was the ram using first person to speak and then it switching to first person narrator right after.

Like Percy's about to lose his mind because of some OCD/anxiety triggering thing in public, Clancy has to talk him through it by encouraging or distracting him. Clancy, conversely, is getting wound up and ready to start a fight with someone getting on his case, and Percy has to deescalate the situation without making Clancy feel weak or inadequate. In either case, gay Shorty Squad snogging is an acceptable approach?
