/scaly/ - Scaly General: Thread #142
Post lewd reptiles and discuss scaly stuff, male or female is fine. Dragons, wyverns, reptile folk, snakes, and sharks on top of other scaly things are welcome. Ferals, anthros, and human/scaly are allowed, but please, no monstergirls. As some may take a few creative liberties on their creations, do inquire if there's a particular edge case you're unsure about.
Please avoid reposting images from the past 2-3 or so threads, try to keep things fresh and post other content.
We don't have any other form of chat setup outside these threads, don't ask.
You may enjoy a collection of scaly-related smut and other relevant items of interest here, of which you are also free to contribute to:

>the long, scaly appendage curls around your chest, the very tip slipping between your legs
>she pulls you towards her, a lustful gleam in her eyes
Wing hugs for cozy
>afterwards, the two of you are exhausted
>she demanded you go longer than you thought you could
>and her tail shenanigans even wore her out
>laying down on her bed (or as she calls it, her soft-hoard), she lifts a wing and smiles at you
>you accept her silent invitation, sliding up next to her

>"I could eat them! I'm good at that sort of thing, you know."
>'That just ends in more problems. I promise, I'll be back before you know it.'
>she presses her head against your chest, nuzzling back and forth
>you hug her back, gently massaging her head and neck
>she eventually pulls back, clearly wishing she didn't have to
>"Alright... any other knight tries to steal something, though, and they get a one-way trip to my belly!"
>the two of you are smiling as she says it, yet...
>'Er, "other"? What have I stolen?'

>A seven-year old boy from Cambodia has a rather unusual best friend. Koun Samang has been spending time with his python, which now weighs 18 stone, since he was born.
>They are the same age and have hardly been separated in their whole lives. Most parents would be horrified to find their child curled up with such a creature but Samang's father, from the Kandal province, is happy for his son to play with the six-metre-long reptile. "My boy and the snake have been living very happily since he was born seven years ago. They are the same age," said Samang's father Koun Samol.
>The snake is named Chomran, which means "lucky" in Khmer. Samang spends his days playing with Chomran, hugging the snake and trying to teach it tricks. >The snake "eats ten kilos of duck and chicken in one week", Koun Samol said. Unlike most snakes in the area, Chomran does not eat rats or frogs, as its diet is similar to that of Samang. The whole Koun clan believe the snake has brought them good luck and they treat it like a member of the family.

Goddamn that's a huge snake.
We think about the positives of having a scaly lover all the time. But, let us consider the opposite. What would be some of the negatives of having a scaly companion?
>>6260553
Shed scales, high AC/heat bills to stay within a good temperature range, potentially rough scales against sensitive parts of your body.
Plus probably diseases. There's a reason people with pet reptiles generally have to wash their hands before and after handling.
>>6260553
You effectively have to plan any QoL changes or additions at home to their needs, maybe even the property itself.
>>6260553
It'd probably be illegal to have sexual contact with them.
Scaly mouths would probably be rough to kiss. Teeth would make blowjobs difficult.
Claws aren't fun to hold. Handjobs would be dangerous.
Chairs wouldn't fit them. They wouldnt be able to use most tools.
It'd be uncomfortable cuddling or having sex with something with a significantly lower body temperature.
They work great as a fantasy but probably not in real life.
>>6260553
>warmblood dragon lover
>get most of what I want out of a scalie lover without most of the maintenance

>>6260990
Shed skin is easier to clean up than hair
Lice wouldn't be a problem
Easier to clean body fluids (e.g. semen) off scales
Scalies look better while wet (pic related)
Scalies can wear tight clothing (not like they'd have to, but still.)
I'd think of more, but I'm lazy.

Writefags, sure. Drawfags, I admit, there's a level of physical dexterity required that some might not have.
But if you can type coherently, you can write. Neither require talent, just practice - as much as I rag on my own skills as both, I can still see a noted difference between a dragoness drawing from 4 years ago and a kobold drawing from this year, and between a HTTYD fanfic I wrote 6 years ago and "The Kobold in the Bed". The second difference is much greater, of course, because I've practiced writing far more than I've practiced drawing.

>>6268002
I do both and while I wouldn't call myself an expert in either one I know I have some skill. I'd argue that writing is harder simply because it's so much more subtle. I think anyone could look at a poorly drawn picture and explaim why it's wrong; they could point out that the shadows look inconsistant, or the colours are too saturated, or the anatomy is too unrealistic.
But the average person can't do thst with a poor peice of writing. The differences between good writing and great writing are easy to notice but hard to explain, and even harder to master.
An amateur could look at a picture for a second and determime if it's good or bad, but they'd have to spend a few minutes analyizing a peice of literature to form a strong opinion on it.
And I don't agree with "if you can type coherently you can write" maybe you can do the most mundane kinds of writing like instruction manuals, but not the actual things that make writing interesting like world-building, character development, vivid descriptions, and prose. Those things are far more difficult and it's much harder to master. While anyone can potentially write, very few can write well.
At least that's what I've noticed.
A-are gargoyles allowed?

>>6270434
nvm fixed it
hue
>>6270115
>anyone could look at a poorly drawn picture and explain why it's wrong
Perhaps, but most people wouldn't be able to then take that poorly-drawn picture and correct it - it's easy to say "oh, you've drawn the legs too long", but hard to be given the piece sans legs and draw them yourself. On the other hand, with writing, if someone notices "hey, you've spelt 'incongruous' wrong" or "your adjectives feel weird", it's very easy to take that draft and fix "incongruous" or replace "she looked extremely sad" with "she looked absolutely crushed" or "she looked depressed".
It's much easier to constructively criticize bad art than bad writing (altho if its bad enuff teh riting bcumz ez-er 2 do agen), but it's harder to correct that art than it is the writing.
Take, for example, pic related (pencil on looseleaf). Even while I was drawing it, I could tell that the head had an unnatural shape, the snout jutted out too suddenly, the horns pointed at a ridiculous angle, the breasts are passable only if you don't look closely, and the limbs and feet are clearly the product of shortcuts and hopeful smudges. But that doesn't mean I was able to fix them.
>I don't agree with "if you can type coherently you can write" maybe you can do the most mundane kinds of writing like instruction manuals, but not the actual things that make writing interesting
They can, however, be learned. It can take a long time, but there's no physiological barrier to writing well like there can be to drawing well. Bad writing and good writing are separated by mental training; bad drawing and good drawing are separated by both mental and physical training.
>>6270306

If they have scales somewhere on their body, I guess they are fine.
>>6270829
I wish there was more porn of Dark souls.
>>6270829
>>6270501
It's easy enough to correct bad spelling - a computer can do that. But I made the distinction between good writing and great writing. You can replace "she looked extremely sad" with "she looked absolutely crushed" or "she looked depressed" but they're all basically the same. It takes someone with more skill to say, "she looked out the window at the grey sky and watched the raindrops slide down the glass like tears down her own cheeks."
I'm not saying that's a professional peice of writing but someone with more skill generally knows that simply stating a characters emotion is a bland way of storytelling. Showing emotion rather than telling is far more effective. I could tell you I love you or I could explain how you make me smile without realizing it, how the way you touch me gives me goosebumps like a feather across my skin and how no matter what I do, it's better when you're around. That takes more time but it works.
The average person knows what a properly constructed face looks like. They know symmetry is important, and what colour of skin is healthy and what isn't. They don't know what a properly constructed paragraph looks like in terms of prose, sentence length. The subtle stuff.
Maybe it's just me because I put a lot more effort into my writing than my drawing.
Again, I'm making the distinction between good writing (proper grammer and spelling) and great writing (something that captures your imagination better than a picture can.)

>>6276853
The dark sword doesn't look it, but it is longer. It used to have like 50 more AR before it got rebalanced. It was back from those days where it gets the bad rap. Now it is about the same as all the others, but people still have a stigma toward it. Estoc is the same, it used to be better, but it got toned down. Carthus is just now finally getting toned down, but i dont know by how much. I say let it keep its damage but tone it down to straightsword speed.
That feel when I'm one of those autists that understands a shitton about the game, but is only about 50/50 for duels. (i lose mostly for trying to agress, knowing full well that bait and wait is the king strat)
>>6276853
Pre patch, the Darksword was un-fucking-stoppable. It did the same damage as a greatsword with a fast longsword moveset, had one of, if not, THE longest reach of the straightsword class, and it could be spammed for little stamina usage. Infuse it with anything and it's game over.
Even now, it's still probably the best straight sword, and one of the best weapons in the game. Carthus and other bleed weapons are definitely top tier right now.

Lets burn the nonbelievers together!
The new holy crusade starts now!
>>6277185
Not really, the Dank Sword had a phantom range easily about twice the size of the physical blade, that and its horizontal r1s have a 200 degree hitbox, meanwhile the longsword and LKS have about 160-170 degree.
It also had the highest AR, the lowest stam usage, and the highest hyper-armor out of all straight swords, making it the most fucking retarded weapon in existence.
It has been nerfed, less hyper armor, more stam usage, ect, but its stupid phantom range still makes it one of the top-tier weapons, perhaps even one of the most powerful weapons of the Souls series.
>>6278782
It's sort of funny how the dark sword in the first game wasn't too great.
>Dark souls 3 talk
>No mention of the executioner greatsword
>No mention of the scholar's candle for spells, miracles, and hexes
>No mention of dark pyromancy
>No mention of the purple covenant
Man, dark souls 3 was fun as fuck.
>>6278891
mound makers' signs should have appeared white by default and only purple with the red sign
>>6278891
I wish we had talk about demon souls once in a while.
>tfw it's past midnight and you're having skittles and soda
>tfw classes keep you from going to the gym and you're slowly gaining weight because of poor eating choices
I think I gained half an inch on my waist already, my pants feel tight
>>6278891
>>6278938
Man, I loved being a grapist in week one.
My best kill was one a host summoned me in by accident, but went afk. His white phantom saw me and attacked. I studied him during the fight and put on the same fashion. After I killed him, I assumed his place by the host's side, right as he got back to the keyboard, none the wiser.
A Blueberry was watching me the entire time, and did nothing, probably laughing his ass off.
>>6278950
I still think demon's is the best in the series.
They will never come close to recapturing that awe and fear of the tower of latria.

It was pretty fun
>>6278975
Wait, I've seen that Magala before. It's a girl. (sorry for fats)
>>6278950
I thought it was awesome to have two massive dragons just laying around to BTFO you in the first area, and then the frantic dash in 1-2 to escape the fire breath.
>>6278985
>Go purple in the catacombs
>Summon in with one of those eternal flame torch weapons from that winter place
>Lead normal people through the tomb
>Lead anyone that attacked me into dead ends, or right into the path of the skeleton ball thing
Good fucking times.

bulking up now
>>6278950
>tfw no 60fps PC remake
>>6279077
Good to see another Catacomb Ghost, I loved doing that, especially with all the traps you can trigger if the host or a phantom is a cunt.
The best is when you can kill off the phantoms without betraying their trust.
>>6279137
I eat two meals a day normally but recently I've been making them really large meals out of stress
big mistake
>>6279137
>tfw not even a port to the ps4
Also
>tfw college forced me to git gud at cooking
I might have been broke at times, but god damn if I didn't enjoy the food I made.
>>6279151
I also enjoyed doing that in the swamp area before the abyss watchers, and helping people out with the Pontiff fight. That heavenly light weapon buff miracle that slowly regenerated health was amazing.
>>6278950
Ah yes, another game I bought but haven't played yet.

Bump it up on your backlog or something.
At least play through the first level.
DRAW YOUR FAVORITE REPTILE/DRAGON FROM MEDIA/VIDEOGAMES.
>>6279330
At the moment I'm going through EYE and it's pretty okay.
Did the campaign once and got the Triangular Gate ending, taking a lot of time getting lost aside it didn't actually feel all that long and now I'm wondering what else I can do because I ended up beating it on Hardcore without buying a single gun or Cyber Power, so there must be some replay value in some areas that I may have missed this first time.
Kind of want to get back into MH3U and work through it too, though.
>>6279392
My legs are ok.
>>6279417
>Wearing Heavy armor for the first time at the very last mission
Holy fucking shit it's so tanky and slow as shit with 4 Cyberlegs. Other guys were tanky too so I had to end up getting the piercing sniper rifle and exploding katana since I couldn't get the 444 yet.
>>6279373
either kalameet or adult evil cynder from spyro legends
both are dark lithe sexy beasts that kick your ass
would be fun to draw
>>6279529
The actual Kalameet fight was piss easy, what got me killed was trying to cut off the tail since I was more focused on that.
>>6279529
Did she grow up in fucking Auschwitz or something?
>>6279392
>>6279417
EYE is...certainly something different, that's for sure.
Good taste though.
I'm personally never gonna understand the implied time loop bullshit.
>>6279593
oh yea, for sure. Otherwise all you get is a dead cute dragon and a hard mode ring.
>>6279609
the DARKNESS did it to her

>>6279615
>>6279615
Gameplay wise I wasn't really expecting the very generic objectives + constant stream of enemies approach it does, but yeah the plot and lore isn't that easy to follow. With the infographics that circulate /v/ getting into the core gameplay wasn't difficult though sometimes the game is really vague about WHEN you have to hack; like the fucking Noctis Labyrinth and how there's a prompt to hack a damaged AI, I never caught onto that.
Haven't even tried the secondary maps; how do these fit in? Are they post-release content that got added in?
>>6279662
Adult Cynder with kid Spyro /ss/ when?
>>6279717
If you like western RPG's try out Anachronox and Geneforge ( As well as the other Spiderweb software games. ) real good hidden gems.
>>6279373
>>6279593
The best way to get the tail is the running halberd R1. I usually use the crystal one from Anor Londo.
>>6279789
Shit, that's pretty good man.
>>6279529
Is the "New" Spyro trilogy worth playing? My only exposure to the series was a mediocre GBA game and fucking
YEAR OF THE DRAGONFLY
it is even worse than people say it is
>>6279878
Only Dawn of the Dragon for consoles. You can try the others but DotD is the best one.
The Eternal Night for GBA was fucking great though. Definitely recommend that one.
>>6279789
Fucking nice.
>>6279878
Short answer: NO
Do yourself a huge favor and play the first three ps1 spyro games instead.
Fucking hell man, nobody should have to endure enter the dragonfly.
>>6279878
the uncorrupted version too
>>6279878
Third game 'Dawn of the Dragon' is where one anon who in a previous thread noted it for its free-flying.
Speaking of which I haven't really done much in the way of that planned infographic, just not sure if there's more games that could be mentioned.
>>6279878
>>6279930
Thanks.
>>6279967
>just not sure if there's more games that could be mentioned.
Terra Battle is a phone app where you have scalies (lizardfolk) as allies on your battle teams, some generic some characters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55VxYVGG3Ic
Chrono Cross (PS1) has dragons as antagonists, but they are labelled females and males and do look nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2sk4HSOz5Q
Puzzles & Dragons (Phone ap/3ds game) prominently features dragons as allies and foes in a rock-paper-scissors slide battles.
So what's everyone's opinion on Jasonofex? He seems to do a lot of animations.

I remember this hydra, one of my first actual faps, on Herpy.
Her art has certainly improved.
My internet friend is writing a book that's heavily focused on the relationship between a human and a dragon.
I want them to fuck so badly. Like a moron I mentioned this (he's not a scalefag but knows I am) and it was really uncomfortable.
If he publishes I'm going to write fanfic anyway though. Is that wrong?
>>6281276
Just watching videos and occasionally listening to music.
If I decide to stay up a little while longer then hopefully I can finish up some drawings.
>>6281384

No. I fantasize weird fetishes on artist scaly ocs they would never be into.
Naomi Novik is the only author I can think of who would go for

between the human/dragon.
Also if your friend finishes his book, feel free to shill it here if it is any good.
