It's hard to really describe because it's mostly just my brain running on autopilot with ideas. I could see the kind of horror I've been applying to regular Zootopia (Paranormal, Lovecraft etc.) and how much worse it could be in an already shitty (in terms of living) AU. It'd be easier for people to go nuts and start resorting to insane shit. I dunno, again it's just a lot of "what ifs" and ideas that'll probably go nowhere.

For regular Zootopia the horrors are the same kind of fare you'd see in human Lovecraft stories. They're things that regular people can't comprehend or handle. The characters in Zootopia are basically humans with animal characteristics.

There was another story I read before that was really good and worked with Lovecraftian themes but I forget the name and seriously feel bad about it, because I loved it.

With the Zistopia AU there's changes to the setting, there's collars and the fact that predators are treated more as a minority. Small changes but this can lead to things that would be considered strange or terrifying in that specific setting. Also since I'm shilling my stories again posting Cold Desert Dog ava.

I didn't really intend to make this whole series of crossover fics, but after the second one it started to be be easier than making a new setting or trying to shoehorn something into canon. Literally all I heard about it on the threads was "it turned into Tumblr shit" so I went back (I've been following them forever but never caught up) and uh, I wasn't expecting this. Like, at all. I remember seeing this update too and I never saw this part.

You know what really pisses me off? How Zootopia turned into a sole shipfest for Nick and Judy. Especially on tumblr it's evident that people only care about the protags. Don't get me wrong, I'd love them to be together too, but that alone wouldn't make a great sequel. It's as if nothing else is noteworthy of an entire megacity of animals that is as close to reality as it gets. There is so much more to it than just a fox and a rabbit.
I loved Zootopia for the social commentary on modern day racism and prejudice and how we all have this fault in us. Yet this subject is barely touched in the fandom (works like PackStreet are the exception). Besides that though there is also the city itself. The rich and deep thoughts that went into creating such a convincing world seemed devalued by all this "fluff". The possibilities are endless, yet the focus is put on two out of a billion of possible characters.
I know, it's the easy way and not everyone is a great artist/writer, but you could at least try instead of drawing/writing Wildhopps piece #5000. Just doesn't rub me in the right way. And yeah, there are some great people who've taken upon this task. Thank you! You deserve every ounce of praise for trying to enrich this fandom with something original. I just wish there were more of you and less of "WHY CAN'T MY PANSEXUAL OTP BE TOGETHER ALREADY?!". Don't even get me started on the crossdressing fad, that meme has long lost its momentum.

Yes, outside of here the fandom is focused mainly on the protagonists, however this is something to expect.
We were able to avoid this because we are a community, flowing from thread to thread, so it has helped us establish a 'lore'.
The Roll your animal helped it further, since it helps explore the social and historical ramifications of Zootopia, helping to see the city from another perspective. Even more so the TTs.
Here I can almost surely assure we have created an amount of content about the world that is unmatched from Tumblr, Deviantart and other communities.
We can only hope some of it will trickle down to other communities, like Savage and Sky(e).

This is because Noir plays a lot with strong opposites as a theme, like light vs dark, good vs evil, police vs robbers, etc. It also plays with the imperceptible blending of the two, like shadows, moral ambiguity, and crooked cops and sympathetic mobsters.

The protagonist of Noir stories usually is an outlier in that they can exist in each state while never being defined by either or. They can interact with the cops and the crooks, can travel through bright official buildings and dark alleyways, can use the law and their fists in a pinch.

But they're also never at home in either side. Cops and mobsters hate them both, they get screwed by bureaucrats and the mob, and victories are usually phyrric.

"The girl" might seem to be special, but she's part of the cruel world, and is usually snuffed out or let go for their own good if she is as good as she seemed, or isn't as good as they seem at all.
