Betty showed she cares, and the way she was looking after Remmy was heartwarming.

Charlie might be somewhat inapt in in the area of unspoken social rules, but she might have some developing feeling for the ram.

I personally like to ship Avo and Remmy, because I like idea of hiding behind snark and quips, to not feel vulnerable or soft.
I might be totally wrong about this, and right now there are important issues to be resolved, so there probably won't even be Avo in the next Pack Street.
Honestly I just feel like there is so much more to Avo.

Avo got probably more screentime than other ships and is on the flirting level with Remmy.
And is also probably the only girl who is Remmy's friend.
Charlie did only business with him. And that pizza apology sort of.
Annie is just person he knows. They didnt have much time together.

Avo is a cool enough character (even though her snarks/quips are her only defining personality characteristic along with her lollipop shtick), but she's horribly immature. Like a teenager trapped in the body and mind of a young adult.
Realistically, she's the kind of person who wouldn't deal well with deep romantical engagement (and should she somehow fantastically do so, it would be horribly incongruent).
She seems to be a good enough friend to Remy, but she's a bit of an unrealistic character, I think.

Remmy isn't the most reliable narrator. He has a lot of bias and assumptions about his neighbors. How often is he thinking about them attacking him?

Literally all they've expected him to do up to this point is shot a little respect. That's it. Nobody's asking him to do the Secret Wolf Harmony Dance or lick teeth, they just expect him to show the slightest passing respect to a local pillar of the community. This is a real thing people do, already, in real life, today.

Remmy's blowout is "understandable" and "inevitable" if you don't know how (or even attempt) to express yourself in a "rational" or "sophisticated" way. It's also not excusable because out of the people present Remmy went off on the worst possible person, and literally the only one there who was actually on his side.
And why? What did Al do to set off rational, enlightened, civilized Remmy?
He asked him to be polite to a woman. No wonder Remmy exploded!

He's perfectly lucent of the fact that he, too, is a simple wage-slave, working hard to get through every day, just like the Pack Streeters.
..Hell, some of his thoughts are downright empathetic.
If Remy didn't go pleading for everyone to make him a wolf from the get-go, that still doesn't mean he's at fault for anything. He shouldn't have to 'check his affluent/civilized sheep privilege' or something, for christ sake.
No matter where you are in the city, it's a damn city, meaning it's a bunch of civilized people adhering to social norms and conventions regardless of their individual personalities, race, culture, etc.
He -is- biased, though, I'll give you that. ..and he does make assumptions. But the consequences of it are fairly moderate, and he always gives others the benefit of the doubt.
The residents' brash nature (and sometimes uncivilized thuggishness) would of course lead to scared thoughts about them attacking him. Everyone entertains thoughts like that now and then. It's those that act on them constantly who are the paranoid or arrogant ones.

Remmy has been an ornery, cranky thistle since Day 1. He takes every action as a threat, every response as an insult, and takes offense at literally everything. He has problems but doesn't address them in a mature way, instead gritting his teeth and grumbling that these preds don't magically understand his problems, while simultaneously wondering how they expect him to magically understand them. He never makes an effort to learn or asks anyone to teach him, Betty has to sit him down of her own initiative, a perfect example of all the times Remmy knows something is wrong, but makes no actual effort to change it. He's incredibly thin-skinned and believes everything revolves around him. Everything anyone does is designed to make him feel a certain way. Everyone is out to get him. Ozzy could wink at him and he'd narrate it as a vicious understood-to-be-threat, a warning from the local violent hoodlums.

Remmy is incredibly passive-aggressive and judgemental. He sneers and puts down everyone around him for imagined slights. He rejects hospitality if it's presented in anything but the narrow and specific channels he's familiar with. Even though he makes no effort to understand, he will NEVER reserve judgement.

Remmy is an outsider in a foreign land. HE is expected to learn and adapt to the local customs, not the other way around. "When in Rome do as the Romans do", not "when in Rome expect the Romans to do as you do".

Remmy will happily mouth off even when he doesn't understand a situation, instead of staying out of it. He bottles up rage but pretends he's being open and rational. He is not "sophisticated" -- he is a brittle, ornery, specist grouch who thinks he's never done anything wrong. The only problem is you believe him.

Remy has been respectful to Al the whole time (as a pillar of the community, as you say), but for him the line is actually drawn somewhere.

And most of the fucking chapters someone snarls, shows teeth. claps jaw etc. at him. And he feared most during "mating dance" when he though they are going savage and when Al was snarling at him at the end of Fall Back.
And in the same day he admitted that when he moved in he wouldnt follow hiena into back alley. So he did change to some extent!

Remy is a bit stuck-up and defensive, as I'd wager everyone moving into a new neighbourhood would be. Apprehensive.
The people in the place he's moving to are brash, thorny and snarky, used to a completely different social call-response dynamic than he is.
Considering this, his way of thinking (particularly in the early chapters) isn't abnormal at all.
Here's a thought experiment: Compare how he acts and thinks during his acclimatization, with how a pred from Pack Street would act and think in a completely inverted prey-dominated neighbourhood. He's not really acting out his thoughts that much, and eventually, his thoughts and concerns mellow out.

The Pack St denizens are so different from what he's used to, of course he doesn't want to immediately let them shear him, etc.
You're taking Remy's personality and boiling it down to a very grim and thick syrup here..
An important contrast you need to make, is between his internal monologue, and how he behaves towards others. There's a discrepancy here that isn't unusual in ordinary real-life people.
He's not a perfect person, no one on PAck Street is, obviously.
..but you're pretty much skimming off the most extreme impressions you have of his character and amplifying them to better fit your sentiments.
(I suggest reading through the entire thing with the things I've said in mind. I'll do the same vice versa.)

Remmy is a flawed, selfish character who doesn't understand but also doesn't try to, and it causes problems. Over time he clashes with his neighbors, but these clashes also help both sides realize things need to change, so they both take steps to be more understanding. Remmy generally needs to make more changes than they do, since he's the outsider who moved into their home turf, but by and large the story seems to be following an up and down progression where things get worse, then better.

Like, isn't that the whole premise?

Well, if you say that every thing they say to him is just him making shit up you can justify almost anything. I will say that, while unreliable at times, most of the things Remmy narrates are what had happened.

I didn't say that Remmy is in the right, in the chapter the only ones completely in the right to me are Rex and the gym bag, but you should consider how Al behaved. Take this part, for example:

"Cut the shit, both of you," he booms, teeth bared. Avo instantly backs off in surrender, stepping behind him with her muzzle toward the ceiling in another display of wolf deference or whatever. "Avo, you know better. Cormo, you obviously fucking don't, so show some respect when you're talking to a lady."

You can see that Remmy is pissed however Al doesn't try to say something like 'calm down and let's talk', he's ordering him around. This is probably out of habit, however it is not the right behaviour for someone that is not even considered part of the pack.

This was a lovely synopsis that I think quite well captures the point of the story.
He is, however, not (portrayed as) a sufficiently flawed and selfish character for him to warrant a "totally in the wrong" stamp, as some anons here like to think.
A core point of my argument is that the social dynamic of the Pack Streeters is unrealistic at times, and that they might be the ones who has to change more than Remy, if they're to have any hope surviving in the 'civilized world'.
It seems to me that in the civilized modern world of Zootopia, things like ancient racial (hierarchial) norma of behavious would be a counterproductive anachronism. (Which makes me like the story even more!)

When Remmy came into the apartment he was 0% at fault. If he'd been reasonable and level-headed, he would've come out smelling like roses.

Firstly, Remy wasn't the only one to exhibit irrational emotional behaviour in the room.
Second, he exploded because of everyone thinking he was guilty of something he couldn't be guilty of. He crossed lines because he was hurt and angry. People try to hurt others when they themselves are hurt and angry.

Here's where it gets interesting, though:
Remmy didn't go above and beyond.
He lashed out at Al, and Al couldn't take it. The implied disrespect towards an 'alpha' made the others pissy (and made them--seemingly anyway--ignore the misunderstanding at fault). Also, the things Remy said to Al was all things that could easily, EASILY be cleared up during rational talk afterwards (it was, in essence, another misunderstanding, between Velvet and Al, after all).
..but the Pack Streeters let their innate way of life get in the way of clearing up the misunderstanding, and thus paving way for an apology.
It's like they're thinking "No, Al is always entitled to being angry, since he's the alpha. Remy isn't, and hence he's always in the wrong, whether be it from ignorance or emotional outburst."

Bottom line:
Things between Al and Remy could have been squared rather quickly and rationally. ..but Al is immature and spiteful (naturally, since he was hurt!). ...and no one is going to contest him, because he's the 'alpha'.
He's entitled to being angry, because he deserves the pack's respect.
This is where the asymmetry lies.

It would be interesting to see some calamity or grand event forcing the Pack Street gang (the wolves, especially) to confront their way of living. As things are now, it's like the outsider is always wrong, somehow.
