I don't understand the OC meme.
>>5956800
Would be nice to learn more about her, she seems a tad possessive and is very lewd offscreen,.. that's about it so far.
Quick question for any artists: if you've got a tablet without a monitor, how does it function? Can I set it up so that it moves the cursor, and only "clicks"/applies a stroke when I'm pressing a key? Or does it hover unless I press down hard(er) on the tablet?
>>5956818
I don't understand this post, so we're even.
>>5956868
Are you talking about like a Wacom Intuos or Bamboo type tablet?
If so, your cursor moves when you hover the pen over the tablet's active area and applies a stroke/clicks/etc when you actually press the pen to the active area.
>>5956161
Is this a reference to something?
>>5956868
I depends on the tablet: some are more sensitive to the presence of the pen and other less, so for some you actually need to press to leave a stroke. Others are conductive surfaces, so they can be swayed by simple fingers.
However in the options of various tablets there should be one that leaves a stroke only when the button on the pen is pressed
>>5957107
So you are buying a new one? Budget? Any ideas? Because I'm actually thinking to upgrade from my small as fuck Wacom Bamboo Pad
>>5957135
Not really. I actually haven't drawn in years, and back then it was with paper, so this would be a first. Just got a 25% raise so I feel like blowing some cash and messing around.
Of course there's always the temptation to just go cheap because of what-if-I-end-up-not-using-it, but I've definitely been screwed by that before too.
>>5956371
More like entry level
>>5957180
Ah, then it depends a lot on your budget, because this changes a lot. I'm going for the less than hundreds of euros solutions, since I'm relatively new of the drawing situation.
I found that the Huion 610Pro seems to be extremely good, especially for the low price. I've seen nothing but good reviews.
After that you can actually consider a tablet with display incorporated
>>5957213

>>5957240
I feel like we haven't heard from Weaver in awhile. How is he doing?
>>5957276

>>5957240
Yeah, that's the kinda thing I'm looking for, thanks. Will put it on my list.
I've heard some stuff about active v. passive styluses, know anything about that?
Pic unrelated.
>>5957305
>dat honey head.
>>5957301
I think he'd mention it was him, if you wanted to talk to him directly for whatever reason.
>>5957334
An active pen contains some electronic components, allowing it to be 'felt' by the tablet even at a short distance, allowing for having one end writing and the other erasing and all short of nice things. Depending on the tablet sometimes it will require some batteries, other times is simple RFID.
A passive pen is a simple piece of plastic, like the one for the Nintendo DS. Used for capacitive touch screens.
>>5957382
Nah, I only hope he is doing good. He was worried about the state of his pc and tablet last time and he was full with school assignments.

>He push a paw on your chest, making you sit on the bed.
>He begins slowly removing your shirt.
>However you see that his breathing is becoming ragged, like he is trying to stop himself.
>He removes your pants and then your underwear, now he is a panting mess, looking at you with desire.
>It is easy to take him up among his protests and drop him with a 'pomf' on the bed.
>He weakly raises his arms in defense, without so much certainty, a poor little, defenseless bunny.
>That needs to be ravaged.
>You removes his clothes in one single motion, eliciting a fearful squeak from him.
>Here he is, nude, his little bunny prick already spurting precum.
>A little touch and he's already cumming.
>You continue handling his tiny bunny meat, from which spurt after spurt continue coming.
>After a while you have enough.
>You lift him easily, exposing to you his rabbit butt.
>You begin coating his little hole between the toned cheeks with his own cum, eliciting a moan from him.
>And then it's your time.
>You begin thrusting inside the little bun, stretching him.
>A jolt passes through him as he begins cumming again, every thrust bringing an orgasm.
>You continue pounding restlessly that ass, a puddle forming beneath you.
>You finally come, bringing the rabbit to such a powerful orgasm that he almost loses his senses.
>With your spent little bunny between your arms, you both begin happily drifting to sleep.

I worry about the people who lash out. Whatever's going on with them, whatever's motivating them to want to take others down to feel better about themselves, it must be awful.
And it turns into a self-sustaining cycle, because all the grudges mount up and make it harder for reconciliation to happen on either side, because then everyone feels like their owed something from the other.
I don't care about whether he draws art or whether he apologizes for being rude or people apologize to him from being rude or the coast guard or discord. I don't even care if he comes back, though it'd be great to see him. I just hope he finds a happy stride.

What if Labjer's Calvin was a total slut?
What if, after having his advanced denied to many times by Tristan, Calvin went down to a seedy predator bar?
What if Calvin was picked up by a pack of gang-banging coyotes that wanted to try rabbit for their fuck of the night?
What if Dontyote was a member of that pack?
(I still want Calvin lying on the floor, defeated, cheeks matted with dried tears and cum, and a few bills thrown on him :v)

>>5958143
I hope they know how much they're appreciated. I felt bad when Zhan was bummed his amazing Honey/Nick picture didn't garner a lot of attention.
It sucks putting effort into work and feeling like it was time wasted. I hope more artists and writers let others know how they feel, rather than decide to drift away because they're worried about some sort of lack of relevance.
>>5958234
>slut characters are just boring
What about them make them boring?
Is it because their needs are so base that its annoying to see someone whose goal is just to get laid?
Or is it how certain characters go about being a slut? Is Sam a different kind of slut than Annekke?
>>5958253
IS Annekke a slut?
Sam sleeps around a lot, while the aardwolf twins are closer to having absolutely no standards.
>>5958287
That's a good question! Its best to clarify definitions, because maybe there's something deeper about slut characters that are boring, or a different characteristic that some slut characters have that are unrelated to them having a lot of sex.
In your opinion, what is a 'slut' character?
>>5958253
For me it's mostly because the author wants an excuse to write/draw porn and they make a character solely for it. An extremely forward and lewd Raccoon who all they do is fuck is boring, meanwhile if she was all that but was shown mostly being a normal fucking mammal (and I don't mean being a normie, I mean able to think, do or say anything that isn't related to "imaslut"), she'd be way more interesting.
Let's not revision story: Sam pre-"Mark & Sam fucks around the world" was one of the favorite OCs of the thread.
>>5958217
I can't believe I haven't google searched businessman suicide stock photos. I didn't know there were so many!
>>5958332
sam has other qualities, its just that as usual anons ignore it for the sex
sam likes to meddle with her friend's lives, has no shame in doing so, and generally thinks all of her ideas are great even when they're terrible, which they often are
>>5958340
That's what I'm fucking saying, before the whole thing of her and max fucking everyone she was mostly like that, but after a fuckload of just "look shes a slut" she was reduced solely to that, which is why people started with raccoon becca and got tired of her.
If the newer comics focused on she doing stuff that would make it easier to enjoy. It's not ignoring for sex, it's labjer dumping 5~ pics in sequence of her doing JUST that.
>>5958368
whoa
my Becca is not a slut, thank you
i've worked very hard to salvage her from what Bernielover left.
PatchAnon here with a kinda question, has anyone ever tried combining Lovecraftian/Horror elements with Zootopia yet? I know there's that one comic with the camera but aside from that I haven't really seen too much? Unless I haven't been looking hard enough.

>>5958393

>>5958253
Well, yeah. Every slut is different, anon.
We have no gauge on Anneke's standards story-wise but we have to presume that they would be different than Sam's on the principle that they are two different individuals. Sam strikes me as someone with a lot of love to give while Annie strikes that sleazy, drunken fun one night stand kind of tone better. They're subtle differences but important imo.
As >>5958340 pointed out, authors and drawfags have a lot to draw on with Sam while we haven't seen too much of Anneke in the Pack Street episodes.
I love them both though. Definitely two of my faves.
>>5958343
>>5958332
Its interesting that a rejection of 'blatant authorial intent going beyond the narrative' is brought up in both of these posts.
>>5958388
Heya buddy! I have just the fic for you!
http://pastebin.com/cSD55PCR
The Shadowy Burrow, by Writeyote!
Very classical horror style. Doesn't dive too deep into the grander cosmic horror of Lovecraft-- more Shadow Over Innsmouth than Mountains of Madness, and with some wonderful allusions to Heart of Darkness.
Would love to hear your response, and the author would too!
>>5958410
You're up early.
>>5958409
Anneke and Wolter are known to get into trouble with jailbait, because they never ask anyone how old they are. They throw the jailbait out if anyone else reminds them to ask, though.
>>5958399
I could imagine things like Snakes becoming a kind of Eldritch thing if used right, I've kinda got plans with Patch that might go into slightly Lovecraftian/Paranormal territory, but nothing like World Endingly huge, just unsettling shit.

>>5957429
>>5958410
>Its interesting that a rejection of 'blatant authorial intent going beyond the narrative' is brought up in both of these posts.
It's how I see it. Every time I see a character with description of "slut" on webcomics and whatnot it ends up being a character who is just there as a porn candy and has barely any relevance aside from that.
Sam does have characterization enough to be more than just that, but in my honest opinion, the last pics were just wanking material. I'm not saying that it is wrong, but for me at least it makes her less and less a character and more of just there for porn.
>>5958554
>Sam does have characterization enough to be more than just that, but in my honest opinion, the last pics were just wanking material. I'm not saying that it is wrong, but for me at least it makes her less and less a character and more of just there for porn.
Consider Inky.
She has characters, and she draws porn of them. Sometimes obviously purely porn, like that hyper-dick percy autofellatio. But there's a clear distinction between porn and the story- it's all non-canon, and doesn't suit their in-character personalities because it doesn't have to.
I think that most artists drawing porn of their characters don't treat it as canon.
>>5958599
>hyper-dick percy autofellatio
w-what
>>5958609
Here you go, anon.
>>5958599
Inky stuff is specifically stated as off-canon, she says it herself and all that shit makes no sense on the canon. Labjer on the other hand posted those as showing how Sam and Mark relationship was.
>>5958623
Oh, the sam and mark things are canon, for sure. And I don't mind that- I think their relationship is fine. Open relationships are an interesting concept- Most people can't really handle them due to jealousy, but I wonder how it gets with different species.
>>5958632
No, I'm not against the whole relationship thing, please stop trying to redirect discussion to drown honest feedback "meanie hateanon" like this thread absolutely adores to do. The thing is for several pics it was just Sam and Mark fucking around Zootopia with different partners/different "trashy" stuff on something that previously had more than just fucking, and there are million of fucking porn comics with the same idea.
Judy booty.
>>5958599
>>5958623
I think the issue isn't canon vs noncanon. I think its the characters.
Inky's characters aren't 'perfect'. They're vulnerable. They have things at stake.
Becca has a pseudopenis.
Sam has lots of sex and goes ;D
I feel like both offer nothing in terms of what they're risking in what they do. Sam or Becca don't get their way once in a blue moon? Oh well! Sex sex sex!
If a character doesn't have anything it can lose, its got no depth. Becca seems like she can't be challenged because she's just the pseudo penis god. Sam seems like she can't be challenged because ;D
If the characters can't be invested in what's going on, then I'm not invested in the characters.

>>5958678
I'm not trying to do that. I'm not trying to do much of anything; I'm replying kind of thoughtlessly.
Yeah, you have a point, that was definitely porn. And it was also doubtlessly bait- Labjer was taunting the thread and it's love of cuck.
But it was also story, which I think makes it interesting. If the thread stopped being so easy to bait, maybe he'd move back onto other things.
>>5958695
Becca is a jock proud of her body. Once she loses that attribute, her pride turns into denial and she digs herself deeper until she fucks herself over by insisting she's okay.
Or at least, that's how I wrote her, since I actually give a fuck about my writing.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/8308027
>>5958721

>>5958699
>Labjer was taunting the thread and it's love of cuck.
Was that really his intention?
>>5958764
why else would you bring something that superficially resembles cuck near something as cuck-ravenous as the thread? It's the easiest bait imaginable, which is why I think it WAS bait.
>>5958764
He said in discord some of it was. He was burnt out on getting called a cuck artist every time he posted, so now he draws generic fantasy stuff.
>>5958699
>It was also story
That's where I disagree, for me it was just porn pics. We've had it established from starting point she was trashy and had tons of sex, and later the specification of how her's and Mark relationship worked and whatnot. That's it, we can move on now. You don't need to have 30 pics of Tavit poledancing or whatnot (unless, of course, you want to show what each mammals who hire him prefer and cultural differences, but I digress) to show how he behaves at work, but you WOULD draw 30 pics of it if you wanted to draw a poledancing hyena.
Justifying on "if the thread didn't..." is pretty shortsighted. People who were spamming it probably enjoyed it more than people who were "ok alright we get it now can we bloody move on?", and being on the latter group I can't help but be salty over it.
>>5958764
IIRC People started posting 'cuck' and he kept posting each sleeping with different partners trying to show that it was actually a swinger relationship. Obviously it helped nothing since the whole cuck spam never was about cucking to begin with.
>>5958786
Look, I don't mean to cast doubt, but "he said in discord" just doesn't seem like solid proof considering its a very 'bait'-y sentiment and something you can't prove or disprove.
And I think his arts cool, even when he's not drawing Zootopia.
>>5958748

>>5960023
For whatever it's worth, cuck was a thing way before you, and will remain a thing for a long, long time.
Give me your headcanon about Nick's dad.
We know for a fact he's was already gone for some time by the time Nick attempted to join the scout troop.

Yes, he's a tailor. Or was. Nick still isn't sure what happened to him - one day he just wasn't there anymore. His mother didn't ever talk about it, either. Nick assumes they parted on bad terms.
At least he doesn't blame himself.
>>5960277
It's funny. Judy was the reason I wanted them.
That said Nick's looks really nice too.
>>5960329
Nick's dad is actually an undercover ZIA agent and had a one-night fling with Nick's mom while working on a case. He left once his case in Zootopia was done, leaving Mrs. Wilde to look after Nick herself
>>5960329
I don't like most interpretations of it and prefer not to think about it. Left people try to push it as Nick having abandonment issues or something worse like JiD. Dying is fine but ends up also being bad because it tries to be too much or too "epic". Falsely imprisoned pushes the "perfectly good people pushed because the gubirment is evil" which I fucking despise.

Died in an accident (muggery gone wrong, hit&run, etc.), culprit was never found. Investigation wasn't too thorough - because who cares about those bloody thievish foxes, amirte?
It happened in less than a year after Nick's birth.
>>5960504
I'll keep my own art for her entry anon, only fair since I made her. If I improve on the original one I'll be sure to ask to switch it out though.
We need more best ship green.
I love when you guys discuss characters and story elements of OC and AUs.
It's always a fascinating read.
>>5958599
I try to make a heavy divide between the two. I won't pretend I don't love drawing porn. I get on kicks where I draw a ton until I burn out, then I stop for a while. Usually.
But because I like drawing porn it's important to show that it's all in good fun and not meant to push into the story proper. On top of that porn is a good way to study character behavior. Granted I do most of that in my head, since I'm not sure how much could be analyzed from a cheesecake image alone.
>>5958739
I mean I rolled Pack Street for Hugh's job. If nothing else he's in the general area most nights.

How about if Nick's dad accidentally got shot during a robbery and got mistaken as a crook because foxes, and got shot by a cop. And Nick was old enough to remember when it happened. Making him hate cops from then on.
>>5959759
Wasn't that what happened in the original Protozoo?
Minus the shit about keeping bunny populations down and the MKULTRA collar experiments, of course.
>>5960329
Still alive and just not included in the movie for the sake of keeping the plot streamlined
>>5960843
what, does he transform into a regular fox?
>>5960843
So, does he actually turn into a swan in these?
>The first clue was the fact he left week at the same time, on the same day.
>I didn't really think about it, at first- I had a life, and a job, so I didn't keep too close an eye on what my roommate did in his free time. But as busy as I could be keeping the shop running, it was hard to miss the way he always seemed to leave in the middle of the week, like some kind of ritual.
>The second clue was the gloves. I'd seen them around now and again, but I'd never actually come across them when I was digging through the apartment looking for something- Only when my roommate brought them, it seemed. Normally I wouldn't care about what my favorite coyote wore, except for one thing:
>Yesterday, he came home annoyed. I didn't notice right away, since he was still as outwardly apathetic as he always was, but he was even shorter with me then usual. Not rude, exactly, but having even less patience for socializing then he usually did.
>And the blood. I couldn't see it, but I could smell the blood on him. When I asked him if he'd cut himself, he just gave me a curt 'No' and went back to browsing the internet on his phone.
>And now, there was this. A shovel, leaning against the door. I sure as hell didn't put it there, so that meant he must have. Why would anyone need a full sized shovel in Pack Street? This was the ghetto, not a jungle. It was all very suspicious, in my mind.
>I never suspected my roomie of anything, before. He didn't exactly volunteer information freely, but he tended to be direct when I asked him anything, even if he could be obstinate with his answers. But vanishing every week, at the same time every day? Blood somewhere on him when he came back? And a new shovel the next day after that?
>I had to get to the bottom of this. And I didn't think just asking him was gonna cut it.
>>5960544
>>5960329
I actually like the idea of him being in power in a secret/paramilitary organization.
He left his wife and kit, faking his death to save them from the ire of his enemies.
He can only now watch them from afar, trying to imagine what life would have been if he was just a fox with a normal job.
>>5960329
I like bookish, glasses-wearing Mr. Wilde from one of the concept pieces.
>>5960723
And they ditched it because it made the story better for their goal. Unlike Zistopia where the author has made clear that they want to use the story to bring awareness sexual identities, and they're willing to bend the story to do so.
That screams "I don't put the story first". I don't care what the political ideology is, I care that the story comes second to the propaganda.
If the author set out to make a story whose goal was to bring awareness to sexual identities, then they could craft a story around that. Instead, the author is shoehorning it in because its more important that we get that in there than the story remain enjoyable and consistent.

>>5960962

of course. it's white is default. putting niggers everywhere is a relatively recent trend trying to civilise and include minorities. it doesn't work and the fad it will pass, now sod off.

>>5960962
I think its more that they try so hard to fit a racial box around the characters as signifiers. At that point, its not 'Judy' or 'Nick', its 'Muslim Judy' or 'Alopecia Nick'.
You'd hope that they try to make the designs seem natural rather than going down a checkbox of the least represented and blasting it so loud that it overshadows the character.
I kind of like this Nick, for instance.
>>5960962
I find those odd too. Especially if Nick is black. The movie is an allegory that doesn't map will to any race.
The problem is that the artist is clearly try to push a race-based theme.
>>5961002
>'Alopecia Nick'.
the hells an alopecia
>>5961002
Thats a dog, not a fox
>>5961014
the problem is the more you divide yourself into special snowflake catagories, it harder it is to have an equal number to represent
>>5960962
Anon, they're Zootopia characters as humans. That's like entirely against the whole premise of the movie.
>>5960422
Still alive. Opened his tailor shop eventually (with a porcupine or something you wouldn't imagine caring about fine suits). Hasn't spoken to Nick in years, since he feels Nick gave in to stereotypes instead of working to overturn them.
I want to imagine a happy reunion between them after the movie, but I doubt he'd be too keen on his son listening to a random mammal (Judy) over his own father when it comes to bettering himself.
>>5961011
Looks like I missed comic reading my fic... I hope it's alright.
>>5961020
It's a fox, then a cat, then a dog.
>>5961006
That reminds me of that awful video that went on for 10 minutes about how "Zootopia got it wrong" because either prey or predators were white, so that meant white people were marginalized, so the movie was wrong.
Is it that hard to understand that the movie is about prejudice as a concept and it used species as its allegory? Is it THAT hard? Do we HAVE to bring in specific races?
Of course its not that hard, but everyone loves to feel superior and smarter when it comes to racial justice.
>>5960909

Judy literally tells Nick how well "articulated" he is, a common back handed compliment made to black people. Whole movie is about prejudice against certain folks but somehow that doesn't apply to humans nope.
>>5961002
>"make the designs seem natural"
Literally any artist could draw any of the characters however they want and no one would say shit so long as they were white. Draw them any other ethnicity and suddenly they seem "unnatural." That's more to do with your perception than anything, as there are people in the world who naturally look a certain way that white people would otherwise find "unnatural"
>>5961214
This. Or at least a link. I can't stand cock teases.

One of those requests was mine, so thank you very much!
>>5963880
Not if Kat was the one who married Clawhauser, not his daughter.
...Unless Kat's supposed to be only slightly older than July was.
In that case, why didn't Mead just say that Bogo & Clawhauser got gay married and had a surrogate?
>>5963922
Why didn't mead also tell us how Judy died?
Because it wasn't important to the story he was trying to tell
>>5963922
I now want to see this gay marriage
>>5963946
In the story, yeah, that is correct.
But he made a tumblr post where he brought up how he was asked about Kat's deal, and could have resolved it there, but buried the issue.
The idea of character bios probably would have helped some things out in general (i.e. Swinton).
>>5963975
The only question is who'd wear the dress better.
Or if you want to make it more PC, they'd probably both wear tuxedos.
>>5964001
No, both in dresses.
>>5963984
how would anything related to swinton improve the comic.
>>5963985
I thought he upsetted remmy
>>5963922
I suppose just in order to avoid these discussions and focus on the actual story.
I very much like how he avoided these things and hope it stays that way. Moreover, I am hopeful we'll see something starring Sky(e)Savage ship.
>>5963845
Because Kat is better as the adopted daughter of Bogo and Clawhauser.

>>5964230
It was, Pearl Before Swine or something. Mead still took that route to make Wilde a 'battle hero' and completely make everyone forget all the negative propaganda so it could end up with him a Mayor, though.
>>5964230
As far as I am aware, Mead chose to have Swinton's off screen fate match the fic:
eaten by (probably Nighthowlered snake)
>>5964284
I think it was just the normal ambassador snake, not a nightholwered one.
