Artists who don't constantly post about their personal lives, intentionally seek out beef with other artists, or act like such toolbags that only their most sycophantic supporters will back them up. Usually these artists have a high level of skill and/or creativity as well, since they spend more time focusing on their work instead of drama.

Yeah, I agree with that sentiment. It's mostly the oldfag artists who start/escalate drama, with plenty of the newfriend artists just kinda standing on the sidelines going "What the fuck, guys? Calm down, it's just Sonic porn." Sure, there are always some newfags starting drama (dreamcastzx1 comes to mind), but there are so few oldfags these days who aren't part of the garbage drama shit they're basically nonexistent in the fandom.

I'm hoping with the new games coming out, we see a few more high-quality, no-drama artists like SkinBark and watatanza pop up. They're a real breath of fresh air right now to an otherwise shitty and stagnant scene.

Keep your queue/schedule managble and STICK TO IT, communicate with your clients if there are delays, and unless you're making a quick piece, charge 50% on approval of concept sketch and 50% when the piece is ready.
