Mirror Gem is (I believe) the first time Steven directly refuses to obey an order, and The Return displays Steven's growth in power, facing near certain doom to save his family. Jailbreak is one of the first missions where Steven takes everything seriously and not only assists in the taking of the ship, but single-handedly allowed the ship to be taken in the first place.

Uhh, what did people expect? It had a full arc leading up to the cluster being neutralized. The cluster wasn't going to actually form or Earth would be destroyed. The only potential issue that could be written would have been HW forces showing up to mess with the drill plan, which wasn't going to happen since HW didn't know about the drill.

The only real issue was CN is retarded and decided to put a 5 month hiatus right before the end of the arc, making massive amount of hype with no possibility of it ever paying off.

Malachite was the incident that got shafted, not the cluster.

I think it's a little bit selfish of you to claim that YOUR favorite character deserves airtime more than human characters that many fans, and obviously the crew, hold dearly. I'm ecstatic to see some development for the people the gems are supposed to be protecting. I would argue that Lapis getting used to living with peridot would be completely unnecessary. Sure, if the show was about her then yes, skipping that offscreen would be poor form. As it is, the important parts of it (the strain between the two characters and her eventual willingness to forgive) were already covered in Barn Mates. Yeah, it could have been expanded on, but at that point it's just more of what we already know: Peridot is annoying but Lapis is willing to tolerate her. The way they did it meant the plot could be advanced without having to focus on it. I get that you WANT them to focus on it, but again: Lapis isn't the main character and she can't be the focus of the show.

I'm not telling you you're wrong for feeling whatever, but if you're going to voice your concerns in a public forum, I don't think it's out of order for someone else to offer a rebuttal.
