I just study various reptiles and try to assemble the pieces where I can. The way I figured is that you've got to select some point of divergence on the evolutionary tree where dragons (or kobolds, or whatever) branch off and take more features from more closely related species. First off, I figured that kobolds and dragons are to each other kind of like other apes are to us. Now, kobolds are essentially bipedal lizards, not saurians! Fun fact, birds and crocodilians are descended from dinosaurs (or at least in the same clade) while lizards and snakes are much more distant cousins. This means that dragon skulls can't have those weird hole things in front of their eyes like tyrannosaurs did. (They're called temporal fenestrae, FYI.) At least, not in my version they can't. Who knows, maybe in your world there are draconic archosaurs! Let your imagination run free.

Where was I? Dragons! Fun fact, komodo dragons are related to monitor lizards, and all bear a striking resemblance to Omanag, so I copy their anatomy the most. I mean, look up Varanus priscus sometime. This gigantic monitor that must've scared the shit out of a few aborigines, just slap some frills on its head and give it a bigger brain and you've got yourself a basic drake. Speaking of frills, that's one distinguishing feature of draconids. Frills and sometimes horns, and also often concave-curving skulls - to the point of almost beakishness in kobolds.

What am I getting at? Well, like, just search for images of reptile skeletons on the internet and look up information on them, you know. Also figure out that wings are essentially stretched-out arms, so I'm betting the only way true dragons evolved is through some radioactive fluke creating a tiny population of mutated drakes. Breathtaking coincidence, really. Nature is a beautiful thing. And while I'm talking about arms, don't get hung up worrying if your dragon's hands look too humanish. Just look at some lizard hands! Like monitors again.

Progress on terrible scaley porn sellout game: I've come up with a gameplay concept that's slightly better than "what the explore buttons or whatever". I also came up with a solution to the how-to-handle-scenes problem, which is kind of nice.

I'm undecided on how many RPG elements I want to add. The standard model seems to involve basically making a JRPG where loss results in getting raped and victory results in a chance to rape, and I don't want to be cliche. Unfortunately I can't come up with any better ideas besides making it a text-based-adventure style game, which sort of limits the player to a singular plotline, making it harder to only see sexual content the player might be interested in. Plus it hurts the repeat-ability of sex scenes, which is an issue in many ways.
