For the most part, sadly yes which I really do hate. I really don't like jealousy being used as a trigger for characters to get together. It seems cheap, easy, and really unfair for whatever character is being used as the plot device.

Amusingly the story is put as a [Nick, Gazelle, Judy] pairing, in which I would find funny if somehow it ended with Nick with both of them (which would also be kind of dumb.) I feel like this is going to be a slog of a story where it is all mixed signals and miscommunication until everything eventually blows up in someone's face.
