I'm interested too. As far as I know, he became popular after he was introduced in one of the episodes because he was dressed in hot pink all up and down. Then a thread was made and more threads were made and scenarios/character development ensued from there. So really he's a fan developed character, which I think is pretty cool in and of itself.

If anyone wants to correct me or embellish, go right on ahead. And if there's a possibility of bringing up those old threads from the archives, that'd be fantastic. Always wanted to see the birth of Fizz.

As far as I'm aware, he was only ever in one episode as a background character, I don't think there was ever an episode where he was dressed in anything. He didn't even talk, I don't think.

I remember in the original threads, it actually kicked off because of this gif. It was the first to paint him as the "I'm totally straight ahahaha nothing gay here" character we all know and love, so the gif itself grew in popularity. Soon artists (myself included) started drawing him being totally straight and completely not gay because it was a super cute head canon, then threads spawned dedicated to him and eventually tumblrs sprung up and it further spread via derpibooru. Presto, you've got the crown jewel of bottom bitch dragon boys (besides Spike).

It also probably gave near everyone a closeted-homosexual-in-denial fetish due to the popularity of him. who woulda thunk it.

I have a clopfic idea for fizzle. May write it someday but if anyone wants to try here is the setup

yeah, it was a little silly, but well put together and cute as hell. there was a decent choice of music and a lot of the scenarios presented were interesting. if i had any major complaint was that Garble wasn't Garble. Sure we're seeing him from the perspective of other dragons but he was way too chill, too understanding and such even by dragon standards.

That said im intrigued by the backstories that were given for the other dragons, especially Spears. It's really made me think; A Dragon taught to distrust magic who later learns he can do magic? There's a lot of symbolic potential dealing with letting go of taught beliefs and arcane methods of thinking, i really wish that plot was expanded upon. same with everyone else really, i felt like if it could have all been woven together, the overarching theme being about how dragons can be more than what they're arbitrarily told they can be. It would certainly be fitting, especially if this was all told from the perspective of Fizzle, who is pretty much considered the unofficial outsider because of his sexuality, something he doesnt really have much control over.

I think if the story was told differently, where sure at first it starts out with Fizzle pining after Garble after slowly coming to the realization, but as he tries to stay "bros" with everyone slowly becomes the catalyst of change within the group, maybe have it react to the fact that Ember is in charge, especially knowing she'll probably be involved with the ponies, teaching love and tolerance and all that crap.

Garble would be the final challenge, after having everyone accept that they can be more than douchey jock stereotypes, confront him with how "these dragons do" do whatever it is they're told not to, have Garble really come to terms with the fact that everything he holds dear about dragonhood might be unnecessary...

He'd probably not take any of it well.
