"Wishing to be friends is quick work, but friendship is a slow ripening fruit."
~ Aristotle

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

Go out and show your tup the world. Some really neat experiences I've had has come from just letting my tup see nature and stuff outside my house.

Accidentally. Developing a wonderland came first, and it was rewarding enough. Eventually I ended up with one.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Newlytup'd Game!

The first round is for the hosts. I'm going to ask you a series of questions about your tulpa. You'll answer each of the questions without telling your tulpa, and then your tulpa will read the questions and guess how their host responded to each of them.

1) What did your tulpa think about you when they first met you?

2) If you woke up one day and found out your tulpa had lost their memory, what would you do?

3) What would your tulpa say is their best and worst features?

4) Whom would you cast to play your tulpa in a movie?

5) What is one item you like that your tulpa would love to get rid of?

6) Where would your tulpa choose to go on a dream vacation?

7) What do you think is the one thing that your tulpa likes best about you?

8) What is the most embarrassing thing you have done around your tulpa?

9) What is your tulpa’s favorite color?

10) If today were the last day before the end of the world, how would your tulpa spend it?

As for your post, I have no actual idea what you're talking about, but I guess it's because I haven't engaged in any meme-drama for months nor have any desire to do so. I made my tulpa out of curiosity, and a desire for deeper companionship. I have close friends, but I desired someone I could share more with (and spend more time with).

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to sample pizza with her, but I'm sure she'd love pepperoni + sausage + bell peppers. Also got my wisdom teeth out recently, so can't eat anything solid for another week at least. Sad days.

>>5484625
1. She says she liked me, thought I was very secure externally, but got all flustered around her. Apparently it was cute.
2. I'd probably just pick up the pieces and try to move on, assuming I knew that her memories were unrecoverable. I mean, we've already kind of gone through that once (creation process), and she hasn't been around too long. It'd be sad, but she'd still be her, so I wouldn't panic or anything.
3. She says her worst is how easily she gets flustered. I think it's cute, but she can often speak without thinking and get confused when I ask her what she meant.
4. She's a furry, so, uh, the animation team behind Zootopia, I guess. Voice actor? Haven't really settled on a consistent voice yet.
5. Room is generally too cluttered. There's a lot of digitization and spring cleaning style work going on in the house (digitizing old photos and tapes and things of that sort), so she's going to enjoy the day we finally get all the old stuff checked off and tidied up.
6. The wonderland? Although more seriously, we both love alpine environments, so Alaska, Colorado, or Switzerland are ideal.
7. Persistence. I may not be entirely consistent, but I definitely stick with my tulpa.
8. Nothing really embarrassing, as we both live in the same body. I fudged a public presentation a bit, but it wasn't really that embarrassing. So, I dunno.
9. She answered "Blue. No, green!"
10. Having a lot of cuddlesex, probably. I'd pretty much spend it all forcing.

I guess just answering the questions normally is okay too... You're supposed to give your answer without your tup knowing what it is, and then your tup's supposed to guess what your answer was, and then you compare answers and go "omg, you know me so well!" or "omg, I thought you would've said this!" and then everybody has fun and learns stuff about each other. But at least somebody responded, so I can't complain.

On to round two!
This round is for the tulpas. This time, I'm going to ask you a series of questions about your host. Just like they did last round, you'll answer each of the questions without telling them your answer, and then your host will read the questions and guess what kind of answers you gave.

1) What is the first thing your host would buy if they won the lottery?

2) What adjective best describes your host’s family?

3) What is your host’s dream job?

4) If your host had a superhero power, what would it be?

5) If you could change anything about your host, what would it be?

6) Is there any special memory about your host that you will never forget?

7) If you could describe your host in one word, what word would it be?

8) If your host could be any famous person, either living or dead, who would they choose to be?

9) What color are your host’s eyes?

10) What word best describes your host first thing in the morning?

1. I have 4 tulpa. They are each unique with their choice of form. The youngest is pictured here. She keeps swapping between an anime girl and this pony. I asked her why and she said because she felt like it. Go figure.

2. I was walking down the street just the other day and I happened to spot a guy in Pink Floyd pajama pants, sporting a man bun and massive beard, eating a gyro on his laptop outside a Starbucks. My tulpa vomited a little in her mouth and said the pretentious levels were too high. It was cute.

i would assume so
at the verry least, im sure you've experinced, or at least heard of the fact that if you sleep and something is going on (people talking, or the tv being on) then what is happening IRL can effect your dreams (the most common example of this is probably hearing an alarm in your dreams) so i assume that if your tulpa made a stink in the ""real world"" that they would appear in some fassion in your dreams.
but other than that, im sure that they could influence your dreams, if you allowed them to, or at least praticed it.

I guess a lot of people have the impression deep in their mind that females are more disposed to be friendly, agreeable and affectionate. Whether this is the case or not varies, but I think a good deal of people think that on some level.

how could this work? if the tulpa exists within your brain, then it should share all knowledge with you, right? so if the host knows what he wrote as the answer, then how could the tulpa not also know?

even if you don't know the same things, unless you held your eyes closed as you wrote then I would expect the tulpa to see it, anyway

>>
>>5549335
Because it barely does, which is why barely anyone answered that shit.
>>
>>5549335
Because a tulpa has better things to do than to always watch everything you're doing, and doesn't have access to any part of your brain that you don't give it access to. It's true that a tulpa can't see anything that you can't see, but that doesn't mean that they automatically see everything that you see, especially if they are specifically choosing not to. If your tulpa is literally unable to function independently of you, then they really aren't a separate personality, just an imaginary friend that you're calling a tulpa.
>>
>>5544453
Remember to make your tulpa orgasm violently this morning.
>>
>>5549858
I made with my tulpa the conscious decision to share all my memories with her and give her unlimited access.
After several years of doing that, we wouldn't even know anymore how to reverse that properly and don't really have an incentive to do so.
I think it is unfair to call a tulpa just an imaginary friend because of that.

Of course except you meant this just in general, but then that sentence wouldn't have made all that much sense context-wise.

Came across this thread and it seems interesting. So I don't exactly want to create a Tulpa per-say, as I don't want to deal with the consequences during the day if something goes awry, but I am still interested in controlling my dreams to the point where I can stop getting horrific nightmares that have plagued me my entire life despite years of treatment. I honestly don't care if it involves never being able to dream again or if it involves prancing in the fields with a cute 2D waifu, but I just want my nightmares to end. Do any of you have experience with this practice of Tulpa creation and its impact on your current dreams? Would lucid dreaming be a better fit for this problem? Thanks for any replies.

>Tulpa thread

Go away newbie I bet your tulpa is 2 months to a year old.

As long as you are capable of convincing yourself that you are in control, you are in control. Of everything. The trick is to realise that that actually is true. A tulpa usually does not posses that conviction by default, and if it does, then you get people with problems. (This not including people who merely claim to have such problems, of which there are plenty).

MTV is desperate for relevance, as evidenced by their parroting of IA and Metokur, so they probably wanted someone like this to drive viewership.
>>
>>5560999
actually mister trips, my oldest is over 4 years old, ive been here since the early days. the term "convincing yourself' implies that you are not in fact truly in control, merely deluding yourself into thinking you are. tulpas as we discuss them are created with that conviction in mind, and if yours is not capable then you have a servitor, not a tulpa. this conviction does not always lead to "the problems". in fact, it is a key part of what makes a tulpa a tulpa.
>>
>>5561097
There is no line between delusion and reality within the confines of your skull. That is what Fede & co. fail to realise (or admit).

Conviction equals truth. What other metric would you use? Try to scientifically assess whether or not something is true in your internal la la land? Take that to CERN.
>>
>>5561183
>There is no line between delusion and reality within the confines of your skull
since that is where all information is processed that means there is no line between delusion and reality outside of it either. which is quite frankly stupid.
>>
>>5561407
Well, that is entirely unknowable. You couldn't possibly know what goes on outside of your own perception. Brain in a jar, etc.. You can with relatively little effort make your brain hallucinate, so how can you be so certain that you can't control any aspect of your reality?
>>
>>5561622
your brain can be tampered with chemically, so how are you to know that you are in full control, especially if one of the above scenarios is true such as brain in a jar? if you are a brain in a jar, the person keeping you in said jar, human or otherwise, could be loading you up with god knows what and altering your perception subtly enough to give you the illusion of control. in short, you are seeing what you want to see.
>>
>>5561735
Exactly. THe point I'm making is that whatever reality you perceive, no matter what, is what is real. Because you couldn't possibly experience anything other than what you experience. Accepting that means accepting that you can also alter your perception (and thus, reality) in any way you could possibly imagine, because it's all in your head anyway.

What's the name of your tulpa?
>>
>>5561780
my point is that you may think this is the case, but given the fact a tulpa is supposed to be considered as capable as the host when it comes to mental facilities the tulpa in question would have equal control, because they would be equally as capable when it came to perception of the world and therefore their control would be the same as yours, provided they were actually a developed tulpa and not a half-developed tulpa or servitor. i'm not going to say my tulpas name because muh anonymity.
>>
>>5561861
Come on, I want to get a hint of who you were. I'm beige windows theme guy.

If a tulpa is capable of doing anything, it is only because the conviction of the host. If someone is convinced that their tulpa can kill them, they can. But all it takes to stop that ffrom happening, is to be convinced otherwise. There's no fancy mind magic behind it.
>>
>>5561927
no fuckin idea who you are, and im not giving up my anonymous status. the tulpa has its own convictions though. it was common teaching that tulpas could not force possession. this has been proven false on more than one occasion, no matter how ingrained this belief was. a tulpas convictions are just as strong and have the potential to be stronger than the hosts.
>>
>>5561976
You keep talking about proof, where none exists. If a tulpa grabs a body of a mentally normal person, that person will be convinced of their ability to do that.
>>
>>5562011
that isnt how that works, that is belief > evidence appears that disproves that belief. like how we dont say the world is flat anymore because we have proof otherwise.
>>
>>5562043
The inside of your brain works the opposite. That's why science is hard. That's why people to this day believe that the earth is flat.
>>
>>5562070
people today believe the earth is flat because they don't understand the science behind it.
>>
>>5562118
And they choose not to understand the science behind it even when confronted with it, due to their previous conviction.

That, or heavy autism.

If you have better sources, I'd be very happy to hear them. In lack of such, the best one can hope to do is give platform to all the views without forcing people to dig through a terabyte sized forum to find them.
>>
>>5574585
I have no sources on hand for my claims because, for those I know that claim to be able to switch:
1) Those that are heavily autistic, I have no acquaintances anymore because of their heavy autism
2) Those that have experienced traumatic with a clear cut case of natural multiples or DID events have only opened up in private and I intend to keep their anonymity.

I'm also pretty sure the DID bit was agreed on in a previous thread not too long ago but you'd have to dig up an archive for it, unless it was in this thread too.
>>
>>5574644
Well, that is but a shame. I have different experiences than you, and in lack of any kind of sources on either side, neither of our claims deserve more attention than the other. I wrote it but I'm not gonna bother putting it back in because I feel like what was written in its place actually has some bias trying to imply that switching is solely based on practice and experience rather than just outright removing it, which them makes me assume you're either elitist or have some mis-guided "professionalism".

Also, gay?
>>
>>5574779
>>5574886
Oh, to add onto this, since lots of people have different experiences just with regular brain stuff and not just with tulpas means there's a lot of highly subjective things that need to be considered and not everything can be presented as fact on a wikia. Cite the most common experiences but don't treat any single one like it's 100% and for things that are skeptic (like the entirety of switching for one) make sure people are aware of that.
>>
>>5574886
I have an interest in not being an edit nazi. I want as many opposing views as possible to be presented on the Wikia. The point is to provide a resource where different views on for instance switching are presented alongside each other on the same page.

The issue I take with your edit is, "Generally, most people who claim to be able to switch have some other condition ..."

This sentence tries to make an argument, rather than talk about an argument. That's not what the Wikia is for, that's what the forums (or guide section) are for.

>>5574952
>not everything can be presented as fact on a wikia.
Nothing should be presented as fact there.

The point is to present the most common viewpoints side-by-side. That's why forums are an OK source. That's why it's even OK to have sourceless articles as long as they're not presenting themselves as truth.
>>
>>5575093
>This sentence tries to make an argument
Switching is subjective, what I wrote is potentially subjective and it's up to the reader how they want to parse it, which is why I wrote it that way. It's educational enough and leaves room for thought.

Also, if a fucking tulpa forum is an OK source then me as a person with tulpas making enough of a conversation is a good enough source, and you should probably write in some form what I've told you. Saying "My friend was ___" is about as reliable as some chucklefuck running into the forum like Mistgod saying they did this or that with their tulpa. The forums aren't exactly barred only to people that actually have tulpas either. Same here.
>>
>>5575252
>what I wrote is potentially subjective and it's up to the reader how they want to parse it
I disagree. Merely starting the sentence with the word "generally" makes the sentence refer to a majority of cases. That is not the perspective from which you're writing, but rather you're writing from your experiences. That is fine, but in such a case you can't write as if representing a sizable crowd unless you can back up your claims. That's why one would use "some argue".

>if a fucking tulpa forum is an OK source then me as a person with tulpas making enough of a conversation is a good enough source
Yes, as long as writing from such a standpoint isn't presented as holding more weight than anyone else's claims. That's the sad state of writing about tulpa shit; there are no good ways to separate bullshit from truth. One of the few metrics I believe might be of value, is many different people telling a similar story (but that of course is flawed as well, lolguides).

In short, personal experience and unsourced articles are perfectly acceptable and welcomed on the Tulpa Wikia. I wish more people would make them. I'm just there to make sure that the playing field is kept even.

Anyone got a Discord invite?
Is there a reason for having the invites so strict?
>>
>>5596176

One time some folks from reddit found the discord and a set of them came in. One of the Discord's admins paniced and instated a limit on how many people could come at one time to avoid getting flooded with new users.

Well, I guess that's fair, then. As long as there's a legit reason I'm fine with it.

Things in tulpa chats can get pretty heated. I remember in a tulpa lewd chat back in the day this one tulpa just letting every tulpa and host in the chat take turns creampieing her and coating her with cum. This is why I stay clear of irc channels with lewd in the title.
