To answer a question in the last thread, I can remember when something changed.

It was like fifteen years ago, so I was like nine. I was on a trip with my family in Wisconsin for a week to visit my step-father's relatives, or I believe they were his family, anyway. This was like all through the first week of July. We're out and about outside and my family is going inside of some gift shop to look at stuff while I'm sitting on a bench that's next to a corner, not in a corner. I was looking down at the floor tile, not paying attention, real bored.

All of a sudden, the floor had a shadow cast over it. I looked up just in time to see the back of some huge fat girl, I think she just saw the edge of the bench and was distracted and sat down without properly looking. As soon as she felt me underneath, she struggled to get back up, and her less fat mother pulled her up. That's when I could see who sat on me, thinking back, she looked like a highschooler in the 400lb range. They both apologized to me and I couldn't think of anything to say, so I walked into a nearby bathroom just to get away and got into a stall and sat down to try and get rid of my erection. Not really though. A pretty minimalist performance, kind of like his role in Captain Phillips if you've seen that.

And the film definitely has its flaws especially in the editing department, but for me, this was a story about the people of New York City who experienced this event and less about the man who caused it. Clint Eastwood is a fantastic director who messes up sometimes. One of the things I consider to be a mistake on his end about this movie is , ironically enough, the abundant focus on Sully.
