Hey Alec, not sure if you're still hanging around, but I was wondering if Meers' food truck had a name.

Mostly curious as I like to dot little nods to the threads in my fics and there was a planned scene in an upcoming one where two characters stop at a food truck, and it occurred to me to maybe use that as a nod to you.

I had briefly considered either making it nameless and just mention that there's a meerkat working there, but the idea of it being named "Sate" also came to mind as a double gag about your signature and the idea that the food sates your hunger.

Just wanted to get your two cents on the matter. (it might actually be some time before I reach the point of writing it)

The Jaguar never lived up to its potential. So confession time.

Before the movie came out and they had the final trailers which showed that the plot was preds mysteriously going savage, I kinda thought up a dream on what the movie was about.

So it turns out that the Zoot world was actually Earth far in the future, and all the humans fucked off for other colonies. But there were a group of people who wanted to see if conflict amongst different intelligent species would go down the same way that the one-species human civilization went, so they essentially uplifted pretty much all of the animal species to sapience and began to observe them.

However, despite several millennia having gone by, every animal needs to have genetic maintenance done on them, so the various human administrations who keep up this go around and subtly abduct and return each individual every decade or so. Sometimes that would result in the various "aliens are out there" conspiracies as some animals would have some vague memories of this.

So it turns out that, during the current setting of the film, there was a small group of the human maintenance who were fucking tired of this and wanted to end the "grand social experiment", since the cohabitation that was Zootopia meant that they had to stick around on planet and they couldn't return to human civilization for at least 2 decades. So they eventually fake their reports on the animals they were to upkeep and either do nothing or make it so they went savage.

Judy Hopps becomes a cop, has to do the 48 Hours thing with Nick Wilde since he's an eyewitness. City starts going into a panic since most of the population thinks that it's the preds, and that this condition is contagious when prey even start going feral and savage.

Nick & Judy are eventually led to the secret human base where one of the loyal humans needs their help to prove that the others are intentionally tanking the experiment. If the various human governments think that the experiment is a failure, they'll pull out all the humans, and all the mammals will decline within a generation or 2 and return to their "natural" state.

So I was doing some research for a sci-fi setting I'm creating, and I found something that's sure to be a huge can of worms for Zootopia fans. It's actually scientifically possible, with the right medical attention, for one species to serve as an artificial womb for the embryos and fetuses of other species.

It's smelly as fuck and they're high energy, but a lot more fun than an overly energetic dog, at least in my opinion. Ours had a pretty big cage and we let her out to play often which I'd imagine is important on both parts, so they do need attention. They play with lots of toys and will also play with you directly, sort of how cats will play with your hand only less clawey. Despite the smell you shouldn't bathe them often and some of them might hate it, it's not necessarily good for them. Ours loved baths though.

Due to above average inbreeding some time ago they are on the whole prone to certain health problems which I suggest you google, such as cancer (leukemia) which ours died of. It was very sad to be unable to help her but I don't regret it, she brought me a lot of happiness.

tl;dr above-average maintenance, smelly, very fun still but be ready for health problems.

Were yours de-scented? Spaying/neutering and descenting helps A LOT with the smell--it won't make it go away totally, but it makes it a lot less offensive.

Otherwise I can attest to this anon. I had two ferrets who were best buds with each other and with us. They LOVE to be handled and cuddled with, and while they love to play with toys with you, they also love to steal little odds and ends from around your room and stash them someplace. Our two would stell socks trinkets in addition to their own toys and hide them underneath a bed or dresser.

I still miss them sometimes. One lived to 11, but the other lasted to 12. It was a bad two years though--when the survivng one lost her pal, she was very depressed for the remaining months of her life, and I have no doubt that depression contributed to her eventual passing.

They need LOTS of space; a big cage is key, preferably with a little ferret hammock and two or three levels. I don't know what it is about the hammock but mine loved the feeling of it and would not sleep in a normal bed. They can be litter box trained, but it's not always going to be 100% in the box. Probably closer to 90%. You'll have accidents but they will not be common.

Overall they're good pets; very active, they adore being played with and handled, and they're just quirky little guys that are fun to be around.
