I have recently come up with a new concept. And no this isnt the fat ass neckbeard from 2 blocks down using my fishface art as a lame ass excuse for a zootopia fan character. This is functioning human being... Anyways. "Jackalope killer"
Murders in various districts always involve 2 victims. A stag and a hare. The bodies have been mutilated and stitched together to resemble the mythical Jackalope.
Officer Nick starts to become paranoid of losing judy. And Judy feels a mixture of her own mortality and determination to end this parade of horror across her beloved city.
As she begins to get closer to the killer. After the jackalope killer threatens to kill judy if she keeps going, Nick becomes more terrified of judys death, and tries to stop judy from continuing the investigation. This Pegs Nick as a suspect and he is put into custody. This leaves judy to find the real killer before nick is convicted as the killer and faces capital punishment.

The second is I really don't think Nick would be arrested and possibly convicted for attempting to stop his partner, who might be taking a case like that too personally, from putting themselves in danger when a different cop would probably be more level headed in that situation.
