Religion was one of the great pillars of medieval Zootopian life, enough to be considered the First estate of society. So it should come as no surprise that rabbits were by and large devout members of the church. As smaller prey mammals, the charity and power of the church could make for very powerful allies (Remember, of course, it was through the Churches involvement that the use of mammals for food was banned. Monastic orders were common in medieval rabbit life, with Dominican and Franciscan monks being prevalent, but there were a few orders that arose in rabbit kingdoms. The most notable would be the Order of St. Adrienn the Lop, who’s order professed to speak to Christs incorruptible nature. Monks of the order were to keep their ears downturned at all times to “prevent the lies of the devil from reaching pure ears”.

This heavy investment in the Catholic faith has stayed with many rabbits, with some of the tenants carrying over to secular life. The reluctance to use birth control in rabbit families can be argued to have stemmed from these deep religious roots.
