Why do authors feel the need to do this? Its such cheap drama. If you don't/won't kill your lead in the actual story, don't kill them in the fucking epilogue. That isn't the place to do such a thing, unless its like a "Dying of old age" thing.

And the worst part is the author could have killed Nick in a more satisfying way earlier. At the climax, after Bellwether realized she had been beaten, she shot Nick as a last fuck you. He could have easily died there and become a martyr to the city. But instead he survives and then gets shot in the head in the last few paragraphs of the fucking epilogue.

Ugh, Im mad. Its such a novice move I feel.
