>fic that got Judy's age right, but completely flubbed Nick's, making him only a year older than her
I dunno why that sort of thing annoys me so much, but it really does. For some reason it just really gets on my nerves when people make Nick a lot younger than he is. I dunno why.
>>3519231
IIRC he's 32, yeah?
>>3519231
>Schalke
We're waiting for the other thread to hit the image limit, I take it?
>>3519263
I wasn't really paying attention to Nick's age that much, but Judy is around 24 yeah? Or at least she's that old when she's in the police academy. 9 years old in flashback, 15 years later in academy IIRC
>>3519368
Okay, I checked again, he's 32. If you reverse Judy's math it's 20 years, plus the 12 when he started.

Actually I didn't mean to post it in a dead thread. I had just gotten home and this was the first thread on the catalog so i assumed it must have just started.
It wasn't until I realized there was a few hours between the first post and mine that I realized that it was an extra thread.

>"A children's elephant suit huh? Wow."
>July was looking through all the pictures of them together
>"So, when did he join the force?"
>"I called him a cop that day, and I wouldn't be wrong either, after that whole thing he joined the force and started really gettin' hitched with that rabbit"
>"I'm guessing she was special to him?"
>"Special? Man that rabbit was the whole fuckin' world to him. Never woulda thought Nick of all people could change like that. Every other day he'd be sending me pictures of him and his girl here.
>And everytime we got together just to catch up it was like talking to a whole different person, y'know? He'd keep goin' on and on about her. 'Do you think Judy would like this? Should we get a bigg...'HACKcoughcough'...errr apartment? What if we end up having kids? How many do rabbits have?' Just a big sappy nightmare, you can probably see flat spots on my forehead and dents in the diner tables...heheheheh"
>"hahaha, it sounds kind of cute actually. Just picturing the chief being all giddy and happy like that"
>"Yeah well, in his own words 'she saved my fuckin' life'. In more ways than one he said. Wasn't for her, would've never had a brighter view of life. He was just like a kid again. Heh he-hack...Never thought Nick could be all so childlike without it bein' fake."
>"Used to figure he was keeping me around for up-to-date crime watch shit, guess he just wanted his close friend too...hack"
>....
>"They look so cute together. So what happened to her?"
>"Can't really remember when, can't really remember how. Time gets blurry when you get old kid, All I know is it happened a few months? years? after the honeymoon?."
>"So they did get married?"
>"Yeah, was his best man too. Was in the area of the night she died. Could hear gunshots and sirens just down the block. Went up to the area and saw him getting escorted out covered in blood and him screaming his lungs out over her. Figured the worst. Figured right. Fuckin' hell I figured right"

I don't understand how seeing a sad story makes people want to stop writing or drawing or whatever. I mean yeah it's sad but, isn't sad feels nice every once and a while? A few sad moments along with the general happy moments that happens throughout most these threads?
I dunno, I always find sad stories infinitely more interesting.

>She looked at the bedroom* door, seeing a shadow pass by.
>Letting out a barely audible groan, Judy looked back at Nick.
>"Nick, you molested a child. You committed sexual acts with a minor. You fucking- ate out- my sister. My underage, minor sister- that we were granted guardianship over."
>Judy was continuing with this more for herself than for the one-member audience outside the door. This was really a moment of conflict. One that she'd already decided on the action of.
>She looked into his bleary eyes and saw none of the brovado she'd come to identify her fox with.
>He squeezed his eyes shut, and curled his body around her hand.
>"Please, Carrots." that that, he let out a sob- given that he was a fox, it sounded almost like a pained yelp,
>"Please, just get it over with. I don't want to cause any more problems- so please, just-" and Judy grabbed him by the back of the neck, pulling him close to her face.
>Her eyes drawn to his lips. No visual hints of emotion or opinion.
>She brought her lips to his, dragging her long across his teeth hungrily.
>She wanted a second-hand taste of her sister.

Don't have it on me, but if you search desu storage for "July Hopps" timeline, you'll get most of it.
I like this name more than "dead Judy AU" to be honest
>>3520099
It still did. He broke her spine with said tire iron, let her mew hopelessly paralyzed and with a broken jaw for a minute or two, and then he finished the job by beating her until she punctured her heart with one of her own broken ribs.
He murdered her in cold blood in one of the most brutal ways possible, and he didn't even receive an informal reprimand for it. You want to talk fucked up? I think that's just as fucked up.
>>3520078
Not bad.
Imagine though how Nick would react if July bring up meeting FINNICK of all animals in Zootopia.
It's like the past came back to hit you with a crowbar in the face. Repeatedly.
Please don't break the fox.

>>3520220
Stress relief
>>3520220
Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane?
>>3520177
No, because between the AU and crowbar to the spine, I'm pretty sure Nick would have chosen the crowbar. Also, apologies for misspellings, posting from mobile.
>>3520199
15 years is a long time, you get used to darkness, and it is comforting and familiar, enveloping you like a blanket. You manage to pull yourself together, meticulously rebuilding your house of cards, when a dumb bunny walks in and just opens the window, scattering poorly mended broken pieces to the wind.
>>3519839
>Nick can only stare in confusion and shock as Judy, from his view, tries to eat his face with her tongue. And her lips.
>Judy backs away, and his mouth hangs open slightly. He's reminded, for a small instant, that he would normally come up with a witty response to her abnormal behaviour- but he's just too drained. Too tired.
>Lethargy and shame take him.
>He thinks to himself, 'This was probably our last kiss, and she wanted to savour it,'
>She leans over him, her lips directly above his ear.
>Knowing how keen a bunny's hearing is, and knowing of the spy at the door, her whisper is almost inaudible to herself, but she knows it's just enough for Nick to hear.
>"Everything will be fine"
>Judy places a kiss on his cheek, gets off the bed, and makes a point to step loudly to the door.
>She watches the shadow retreat, and can faintly hear muffled footsteps heading towards Ellie's room.
>Meanwhile, Nick's shame has only redoubled. 'My actions- my shame- what is Judy even thinking!?'
>He shuffles out of bed, ready to confront Judy, his inner voice of reason slapping him, telling him 'Stop her from ruining herself! You can't let her choose you over what's right!'
>He reaches a paw out to grab her, but she quickly turns and faces him.
>'It's like she knows what I'm going to do-' She quickly grabs his hand, pulling it to her chest.
>Her eyes burrow into his, and she whispers in a tone of finality, "Sit down. I know what's going through your head. Trust me, my sly fox. I know my sister. I can get us through this. All of us."
>She reached for his shorts, sliding her hand into his left pocket, until she found what she wanted- his phone.
>"You'll get this back when I'm done," she said with a smirk, a borderline shit-eating grin.
>She went for the door, and turned around again, saying loud enough for someone in another room to hear, "and don't leave this room, got it?"
>"Fluff, plea-"
>He was cut off as the door met its frame with a clack.
>'Dumb bunny, why?'
Nick is gonna die protecting July in this dead Judy AU, isn't he...
>>3520078
Anyone else cappin' in? Gonna go to bed
>>3520093
>inject realism into this
I have no idea why people want to turn Zootopia into a grim, gritty, boring, bog-standard crime drama.
It's the same reason I can't give a shit about the moose detective OC.
>>3520240
I have many feelings, but no words
>>3520243
I doubt it would go that far. Honestly speaking, dealing with Nick's mental and emotional state is the most interesting part of the story, you don't need to have more drama in his life unless you want to break him completely.
>>3520243
It'd be less tragic than keeping him alive.
>>3520243
>Judy's dead
>Mom's probably dead
>Villains are dead
>Finnick's dying
Face it, it's a cap off to a generation.

>>3520269

If anything, giving Nick one last hurrah saving July would bring a little light to this AU
>>3520260
He works because we've seen the city's underbelly. A city that's supposedly bright and happy will not devolve into race riots in just a week. The city that the moose walks in has always been there; we just don't see it for most of the movie.
>>3520260
Oh, you know why.
This July Hopps AU is actually physically hurting me.
Just the thought of Nick lying in bed alone constantly thinking about Judy, knowing she's never coming back, is enough to make me tear up.
>>3520200
you have one who will wait for you anon
>>3520299
Exactly. This is the sort of thing that's ruining Zootopia.
>>3520306
It's okay. He had gotten numb enough that he forgot he was hurting.
At least until her doppelganger walked in the door and tore open all his emotional scars again.
>>3520306
He probably doesn't.
That's really not how people cope with trauma long after the fact. He's 99% more likely to have just hardened his heart to not care anymore. Little bits of emotion left, for her memor

>bright happy movie and universe
>being ruined by edgefags
No different than ponyfags writting grimdark MLP fanfics. It doesn't fit the setting.
>>3520369
Race riots are canon.
>>3520369
The difference is the original pitch for Zootopia was very dark and grim. So it's understandable why people would latch on to AUs that follow the same atmosphere/mood.
>>3520243
I hope not.
Im still mad about Nick dying in The Unimaginable.
I want him to come to terms with Judy's death and return to his old self, at least on some level.
That would be a better ending IMO
>>3520369
The original authors think you're fucking wrong, and they have a lot more sway on my opinion than you do
>>3520381
ah there it is
>>3520306
>lets rev up these edges
>Eventually Nick gets hurt trying to protect July
>wakes up in the hospital
>Turns out, he didn't do good enough - Jully didn't make it
>The last straw
>This breaks the fox
>Resigns, secluded himself away from the city
>Animals who occasionally wander around only know that a bitter, unkind old fox lives alone, not too far away from the town
>Though nobody really cares as he continues living out his years in silence and isolation
Man, Im dissapointed by this fic so far.
Its about Nick reuniting with a sister he hasn't seen in 20 years.
The writing is amusing and I actually laughed at some parts.
But the sister is just too perfect. She doesn't seem to have any real flaws to her, and she already seems to have become friends with Clawhauser and Bogo.
Im hoping she is given a few flaws before the story is over because its a bit much at the moment.
Though the newer fic hes working on seems like its gonna be less like that even though it involves Nick's family again. Hopefully its good.
>>3520078
Since no-one else was. Hope you enjoyed the story guys, g'night.
>>3520196
Jesus man calm down, it's barely even rape on a technicality. It wasn't done with any malice and it's treated with the appropriate gravity.
>>3520375
I kinda thought him saving July would be him coming to terms with what happened in a sense that he finally got to correct the mistakes of the past (protecting July = protecting Judy in his eyes), or something like that
>>3520385
>Nick goes full 50 blessings, sick of the criminal aspects of the city
>>3520230
At least you can talk, who are you?
>>3520404
Sure, but why does he have to die in the process? No time to appreciate how far hes come if he dies in the process.
I think it would be better for him to survive saving her, come to terms with his grief, and become a mentor for July.
I want July to heal Nick's scars with her vagina.
>>3520385
And then he inflates several thousand balloons that are tied to his house
>>3520421
What, like rub it on all the scar tissue he has in hopes of having a bio-oil type effect to lessen their presence?
>>3520423
Goddamnit, anon, this is why I love you.
>>3520421
I've read that School Days doujin...
So what music would play at Judy's funeral? Presumably because being a cop is dangerous she would've made some preperations herself, but Nick could've added some afterwards too if they're married.
Let's go for maximum devastation here, people.
>>3520423
>He lands it on a hill overlooking the burrrows
>He just sits up there watching all the fox and rabbit kits play on their farms
>>3520427
...sure
>>3520433
Official funerals don't get much more than Amazing Grace or Taps if the person in question died in the line of duty.
>>3520411
There could be a variety of ending that could work, for sure.
I just see Nicks dying saving July to be a more solid one given that I doubt anyone is going to continue being interested in the AU if it revolves around Nick going back to normal and mentoring July (he'd prolly be retired too, since most cops retire after 20 years)
I just thought it'd be a nice "full circle" kind of ending, only my opinion of course. Nothing wrong if you disagree

Not the anon you were responding to, but here my idea for how it could end
>Nick saves July but gets badly wounded, enough for him to be hospitalized
>Nick has a heart to heart with July and comes to terms with his grief
>they make up and start to actually get along
>Nick eventually dies in the hospital a few days later
>he leaves a letter for July to read

Something that switches the mind's tracks suddenly. This can be a character's thoughts, a piece of dialogue, an actual interruption in story.
Something that acts like the baited hook for your readers.

According to all known laws of zootopia, there is no way a bunny should be able to become a cop. Its body is too small to get criminals to the jail. The bunny, of course, cops anyway because bunnies don't care what mammals think is impossible.

>So then they home and when the tv turn on it said "Judy and Nick we need your help bad guys taken over building on the city!"
>Then Judy and Nick went to building and saw bad guy and shoot him with gun and he fall off building and die

Maybe something like this?
>"A-ten hut!"
>The hippo's raspy voice reverberated over the chitter chatter of the officers in the room. As the conversations slowly faded out, Chief Bogo walked into the room and towards the podium.

Inspired by Judy, the Hopps decide to separate. After all, they settled.

Remnants of humanity, using submarines, attempt to foil his plans. They need every resource, and get the young recruit retrieve old and broken man who left the fleet years prior.

>>3521096

>>3515736
>>3520997
Writing a story like that would be weird for me just because they seem like they've got an incredibly stable relationship, and any story where Bonnie is around Nick long enough to fuck him pretty much guarantees Judy's involved in the story somehow. It'd feel weird, I think, if you basically drop the bomb that Bonnie and Stu split up because I feel like Judy would sort of be a wreck about it.
But the best I've come up with is that Stu had an indiscretion a long time ago in their relationship and Bonnie forgave him on the condition that she gets one free fuck with someone else and she's been sitting on it for a long time, but that's still pretty odd. I dunno.
>>3521092

Dude, no.
Maybe they can share Nick. Give him the good ol' Lucky Pierre.
>>3521238

>Judy
that's a really weird way to spell Travis
>>3521238
If Bonnie's going to have a try at Judy's fox friend, Stu's going to go make a pass at that waitress at the truck stop diner.
The way these threads swing really can make you dizzy
>>3521173
The story concept I'm kinda sorta filling out is fucking weird anyway to be fair. One where Nick and Judy aren't dating, and Bonnie fucks Nick but he's not a homewrecker so it's either okay with Stu or he's in no position to argue about it, and then Bonnie gives Nick cute tips on how to woo her daughter in the afterglow.
There's like three conflicting ideas here at least and I think it could be really cute if pulled off right but I'm having serious doubts about being talented enough to do that.
Gideon is best husbando. Nick doesn't deserve Judy's love.
>>3520974
Just make it anal.
What happens in prey-ass, stays in prey-ass.
>>3521299
Gideon's an asshole who waited fifteen years to apologize for brutalizing a little girl and only bothered because she was literally right there and he couldn't avoid it.
Gideon's a fucking prick.

>Jack Savage is not an asshole
>Just sharp and a bit like Barney from HIMYM
>Total bro with Nick
>Carrots is not his style, sees her only as a friend (& there's the bro code)
>Sitcom ensues
As requested, tail floof snuggling, with added butt fluff and mostly no clothes!
>>3521327
The basic idea I'm sort of working off is that Bonnie knows that Nick likes Judy, maybe even that Judy likes Nick and doesn't really realize it. I'm still not really sure why she decides to bang Nick--maybe as a test, or because she wants to help "instruct" Nick on what rabbits like and she's not sure when she'll get another chance--but the real sticking point, I suppose, is that Nick doesn't seem the sort of guy to bone a woman he knows is married, so there's gotta be some sort of explanation that isn't just "what he doesn't know won't hurt him" because that'd scare Nick right off. He ends up caving, because Bonnie's eyes and Judy's eyes are more than close enough to get him going, and all the little tricks Judy uses to coax Nick into doing stuff she learned from Bonnie so she's basically got a back door.
I don't fucking know. It's late.
>>3521391
>not carrot shampoo
>>3521371
There's a scent gland at the top of the tail.
>>3521378
If they were real bros they'd record videos of themselves frotting to send to Judy to rile her up. Then after a few hours they'd head round her place to help her unwind all that tension.
>>3521420
Nick_and_jack.jpg
>>3521414
Judy brings Nick round after they become partners at work to introduce him to the family. They just see one another as friends for the moment, so Bonnie sees her opportunity for FOCKS cox
>>3521464
Well, sure, the question is what kind of explanation Bonnie could give Nick that would make him willing to fuck a married woman that doesn't amount to "rabbits are huge sloots"
Did someone cap the Nick, Judy, Ellie posts? Did it get finished?
>>3521500
>that doesn't amount to "rabbits are huge sloots"
For the monogamy defence force that's loudly infesting this thread, no such explanation exists.
Okay, been reading through this fic, and if the author's around, I've got a few of my thoughts.
http://pastebin.com/0hKqpY1e
1. First sentence seems a bit off, maybe have the couple emerge from their apartment and then describe the rain having eased off; rather than the other way around.
33. The mention of Easton cutting off Jason... its position seems weird at the end of the sentence. I''d thought the next sentence was the interruption and I'd misplaced the names.
One, to make it clear he's interrupting, I'd use an m-dash instead of an ellipses in Jason's previous comment.
Second, because the interruption shouldn't need to be pointed out, maybe change the focus to how Euston reacts. I mean, he cuts Jason off, but is it with anger, with embarrassment. Maybe elaborate.
39. You shouldn't be using parenthesis there, it's A: not the correct use, (think of them as something that is part of a sentence for elaboration, but isn't necessary,) and B: kind of weird to see in spoken text.
Maybe break the sentence in two, for example: "Yeah for tonight, and the next few times you come." Jason dropped his voice to a mutter "If you do come again."
85. You have a large paragraph which uses "The rabbit" several times in quick succession to start sentences. Might be an idea to find some way to rephrase them, if you're not wanting the name to be given out just yet.
Other than that, my only real problem with the fic is Jason not letting Euston know he's leaving. I would have thought that'd just be good courtesy.
>>3521378
>Jack Savage is not an asshole
>Just sharp and a bit like Barney from HIMYM
Wait, so which one? I mean Barney was awesome, but he was an asshole.
He just wasn't a terrible person like Ted.
>>3521562
By that I mean sharp, suits erry day, but not Archer tier type of a guy.
Probably a womaniser, always on the run from his multiple girlfriends, with Carrots and Nick bailing him out more than once, including feigning his arrest.

>Judy's mind was storming with unfamiliar thoughts and feelings. All of which had to do with her partner and lover, Nick.
>While quite a few involved her little sister aswell.
>'I can't- won't- lose Nick,' this was the prominent thought in Judy's mind.
>'Ellie didn't seem that traumatized by what happened after she calmed down, too,' was the major convincing factor in her mental struggle.
>'But, it's my sister- my family! If I allowed this, what kind of sick standard am I setting?' was also a convincing factor in her mental struggle.
>The idea behind both being to protect the one she loves. She leans against the door frame, contradicting thoughts getting the better of her.
>'I love them both, and I won't lose either- that's that,' she'd decided this in her and Nick's room, and she fortified that thought now. 'Morals be damned in this case- Ellie's happy in the city, Nick's a great officer, this can work! It will!' and she was convinced.
>Judy entered Ellie's room and closed the door.
>Ellie sat there for a moment, a look of wondar and a bit of sadness before she looked to Judy.
>Ellie spoke first, "Listen, please," and Judy continued doing just that. "I know Nick's important to you, and I know things are gonna get awkward between us if I stay-" she was kicking her feet slowly at the edge of her bed, looking to the ground for answers.
>"I know what he did was against the law," at this, her ears sagged, and she let out a defeated breath.
>"I should go back to the farm- and I won't tell a soul- just, please, don't be mad at eachother over me," and Judy's heart skipped a beat.
>Judy looked down at her sister, a momentary flash of confusion and concern on her face. She placed a comforting hand on her sister's back, pulling her into a hug.
>Placing her lips on her sister's head, between her ears. Giving a deep inhale, readying herself for what she was about to do.
>"Ellie, she me where he touched you,"
