Barely anybody talks to anyone cause this mongolian conga ballroom documentary not a slice of life school dram. It's also horribly short, poorly written, and has been plagued by production schedule fuckups.
It's such a shame to see how they started out so well with their talk in volume one only for it to degenerate into theft as well as physical and verbal abuse by the vol 3 hiatus rwby chibi. Blake's gonna have to work hard to get out of the pound.

It's not subtext with Bumblebee though. Their relationship can literally go either way. That's why there's so much debate about it. If Yang was a boy there would be a Yang-Blake-Sun love triangle argument.
Bumblebee is one of those anime girl relationships where the potential for relationship is there and strong but they don't go for it for one reason or another.
In RT's case, they're not going for it because they don't want to offend anyone despite a large majority of people want and would be okay with Bumblebee.

I guess at like season 18 or something definitely. Vols like 4-7 or something are gonna be full of yang's training montage and going after rubes after news of fighting reaches taiyang. Sooner or later Yang's gonna stumble into Blake when their paths cross after and Yang's gonna kick the shit out of her for not only not being their for her, meh, but not being there for rubes while she's fighting the bbeg and her henchment, unforgivable.

Nothing in that scene implies that Qrow had received some kind of message telling him to wait for contact. Or that Cinder had interfered with their communication.
Qrow gets there, gets bitched out for not contacting them and goes on a spiel about why didn't they contact him even though he didn't feel obligated to contact them.
There's a difference between being being a bootlicker and being independent but everything he does during that scene is basically him desperately affirming the fact that he's still a rebel who doesn't agree with the man.
