I don't like Ivanks' art. It's either what you said or "girl to monster that doesn't look like the girl at all". And they all lose their minds and act lusty at the end, which is a huge turn-down for me. I like my transformed girls keeping their sanity and acting surprised, embarrassed or sad about their condition. It's even better when they don't even notice their transformation.

Cqmorrell is better in that regard, even though his art isn't that great.

If we go by the manga, which already has some ridiculous shit in it, Latias in the Emerald arc disguises herself well enough and appears to interact with others, though she communicates with telepathy. I believe it started with that for me but it kept going and I got hit with a full range of TF aspects before I was even 15, I think. Being an artist is already mentally draining. Having really weird kinks and pushing your stuff online, I don't think I could handle it. I already deleted my normal art once. I regret it though but it would probably happen again.

In a way, it's already becoming reality and fast.

Messing with genes so that they're different in the offspring has been a thing for a good while now.
Nowadays scientist are increasingly looking into gene therapy and that's basically modifying person's active DNA to change the genetic makeup.

So yes, TF is theoretically possible and already happening.
But it's not used to give people massive asses or cat ears yet.
It's going to be used in personalized medicine, cancer treatments and such.
Actually it's been in the news quite a bit lately.

But I bet that if this current trend of people wanting sex changes continues long enough, they're going to start applying gene modification stuff there, when the tech is advanced enough.
Also doping is going to be a big thing with gene modification.
Next 30~ years are going to be interesting as hell.

This post is overly optimistic.

As someone with an actual background in genetics I can tell you that, despite great breakthroughs being made in recent years, those breakthroughs have been roughly as impactful as the spread of iron usage in Antiquity. In essence it is a major step forward but we are still at such a low level of understanding and ability to manipulate genes that, in the larger perspective, it is a baby step.

Drastic human modification will not see the light of day for at least 100 years and probably longer. It would theoretically be possible to create furries and other anthropomorphic body shapes in newborns, but ethics concerns will likely never permit the making of such creatures; and furthermore massive form changes during adulthood is theoretically impossible, especially any modifications to bone structure which cuts out any interesting furry-type stuff.

Genetics is not the answer, look to VR to deliver this kind of shit. It's basically magic and has no foundation in reality.
