That's what I was thinking as well. The idea of multi-melee form weapons like Qrow's seem designed to negate the need for that, like the concept of transforming weapons in general. The stuff i'm hearing from other sites is the model change was due to performance issues with the old models? Can't really tell either way, I mean granted we won't be looking too closely at the models anyway in the middle of a fight, (at least until they start using in-game cut scenes or something) but it still just looks really unpolished modelwise, like they ported over those creepy 150 dollar figs from their store and put them in the game.

And seems it backfired because I have read everyone complaining that it runs worst than it used to. People seem to have huge FPS drops they didn't had before the update, and some people can't even start the game now. Not sure exactly what performance improvement they were looking for, but the game didn't even run that bad before, and I have been playing it in a toaster all this time.

Making an anime looking game run smoother shouldn't really be that hard. Just turn off all the lights and use baked shadows on the textures of everthing. Make the black lines and the bloom toggeable from the options and yhey could even get away with having lower poly models for potato settings.
