>>2666580
I did some edits on it after taking your recommendations into account, but today I've been studying for an exam I have tomorrow mostly while monitoring the thread for occasional distractions, and those oreos of course.
That said, I'm on the fence. I really, /really/ like Desmond and Molly, but I feel like the story is currently a good self-contained unit, and anything more would be frivolous. However, considering it's a puff piece in the first place, that's less of an issue.
Still, I think I might move on to a different project first; I had a flash in the pan moment a bit ago, so I'm taking some time to storyboard it and figure out if it works, but I really won't rule out taking Dezzie and Moll to the spa for a day of cute pampering and researching what treatments an animal spa might even use.

That's a beautiful idea. You know this as well as I do, challenge yourself in your writing. My update to Short Tails is scene writing, my weakest area. I'll read your edits later tonight, I'm sure they're all good.
Maybe just write short, one shot dates with them, or
Or
Do a series where it's like 10 dates, one update per date. That'd be qt and fluffy as hell

Is this internet sexuality or real sexuality
As in, online, I jerk to all kinds of stuff. gay, straight, incest, rape, general violence, have given most fetishes a fair shot
But in real life I'm just vanilla straight and only have plain, normal sex with my wife. We consider doggy "spicing it up"

Yeah, the story hasn't changed overtly since you last saw it, so it's probably not worth a reread considering you seemed pretty thorough when you checked it out earlier, which I'm super grateful for still.
I really like the chaptered dates idea though! My worst quality as a write fag though is my non-committal attitude however, so I'm always super scared to announce anything I plan until it's basically done or half made. Maybe that's just the kick I need though. Thanks clunk, you're a super guy.

>>2666824
Well, I put down bisexual, but anyone in real life would say I'm straight.
This is because I'm terrified of people judging me differently because of my sexuality.
Everyone around me would claim that they wouldn't judge or change their opinion of me, but deep down I believe this isn't true.
Any relationships I have with other men is kept hidden, which is just unfair to them.
Its also hard to find open minded people who are OK with seeing other partners.
Pretty much all I do is have short term physical relationships with women that inevitably end when we get too close.
Sexually, romantically, I'm pretty frustrated.

I live in a pretty conservative part of the country, I'm pretty open about my sexuality (I don't tell people unless it's necessary though), I've come out to all my family and close friends (who have in turn told others) and I have yet to feel any blowback for it. My friends make gay jokes and call me faggot and such such but I've clarified that I don't really mind it so it's fine.
Maybe I'm just really lucky.

My roommate actually came out to me before we moved in together, it was funny, when he's like "Um, I just wanted to let you know... I'm bisexual." and I'm just like "yeah, me too. Whatever." Very freeing, haven't come out to every friend I have because it doesn't matter to me. Though it is pretty cool being able to just talk about dick and pussy with the roommate and call each other faggot.
>>2667124
That's tough, Anon. Don't know if clarifying would help, like "unless you have a fox dick, not interested."
>>2667181
Thanks man!
What about the title gives it away? I'd like to not give it away
>>2667218
I'm in a very progressive part of the country.
So progressive that people have been wearing their sexuality on their sleeves to define themselves.
Usually this means their either so vapid that all they have in life is their sexual identity, or they're trying to market themselves as a token sexuality. Either way, those people are known to not produce good work.
Its really poisoned the well.
>>2666674
Who else thinks that Clawhauser is solid muscle under that fat, like a sumo wrestler?
I just want a scene where one of the big animals on the force does whatever it is that really pisses him off and the fatass just straight up slams them against a wall and lifts them clean of their feet.
After that he gets mad donuts.

>>2667312

>>2667293
>"unless you have a fox dick, not interested."
Funnily enough, that is what I've said. They were all totally cool about me wanting to fuck a cartoon character, that's the 'weirdness'.
It's when I brought that sexuality to real life they suddenly got worried about the connotations of it.
>Fucking male cartoons foxes= Okay
>Fucking male humans= not okay
I'll never understand normies
>>2666815

Good to hear you're sticking with it. Keep us posted! And that does look like a fox, so you're off to a good start. I like your "fur lines" too - or whatever you want to call them, I mean how your draw the tufts of fur on his cheeks and his ears.
>>2667106
I hear ya. I'm tossing around the idea of a nap myself. What are you sore from?
>>2667124
>>2667131
That is 100% what I am worried will happen. I mean, I love my friends, just not in that way. I'm worried they'll push me away if they think I might be into them.
I mean, they can say they'll be okay with it, and they probably will be. But I just don't want it to preclude us from doing things we like doing together just because they have the wrong idea.
They've even asked me about my sexuality before, and I've lied and told them I'm straight just to protect myself. I hate that I feel I have to do that - I don't like lying in general. I just wish it didn't have to be like that, you know?

That's how I hope it would work out if I told them. I also come from a conservative and rural area. Imagine Bunnyburrow but with more guns and pickup trucks.
My friends like to make the same kind of gay jokes around me, but that's another thing I'm worried I'd fuck up. I don't want them to think they'd have to censor themselves, because I love that kind of humor!

I am too, and I'm bi. I'm sick of people defining me by it. I'm sick of people asking me about it. I'm sick of people questioning whether I'm more straight or more gay.
This fucking radical progressive push for LGBT acceptance has kicked out any moderates who just wanted to not be seen as freaks. No, instead its the definition of you as a person, your order on the progressive stack, your indicator for privilege, and what you have to fill in the blank for every opinion "as a _______".

It's fine.
And if they ask you your sexuality, from what I hear it's the perfect time to open up (I've always initiated so not talking from experience). But regardless, there's little reason to rush these things, take your time and ease into it, try to predict they're reactions, see how comfortable they are with difference. Most important thing, though, is to expect the absolute worst reaction, that way you will be prepared to handle anything and a positive reaction is a pleasant surprise.
Hell if doing it face to face makes you uncomfortable, do it over text or messaging, it's how I did it, you can ask them to tell your other friends and let them do some of the lifting for you. I'm no expert, but that' just advice from my own experience

>>2668092
What I find helps is classifying all your 'depressive' thoughts, like the ones that say 'you're wasting your life' and 'you're worthless' and 'you should kill yourself' as thoughts from an 'other you'.
That way, every time you think like that you can say to yourself 'hey man, fuck you' and focus on the better aspects of your personality. I know it sounds psychotic, but I've found it helps a lot with the really dark shit.
Once you identify the schism between your 'You', or your 'I Will', and the 'Other You', or 'I Can't', you'll find that depression is essentially a cancer of self that you can keep locked up in it's own little tumor.
That, or you're a Tumbrina and you're lying for attention.

Firstly, might want to shift away from pastebin for feedback, it doesn't lend itself well to communications.
Also, you actually did some super cool stuff here, I like the way you write lines for Nick especially; though maybe consider having him revert to humor when he's nervous or concerned about something primarily? Nick uses it as his defense mechanism, they can't hurt you if they're already laughing as far as he's concerned.
Nick's mom is a sweetheart in this, and my only complaint is more opinion based, in how easily she brings up the scout uniform thing, but that can come from any number of reasons; time healing wounds, Nick being far beyond it now, etc. But it's still a mother having watched her only son be deeply emotionally wounded and Judy pulling it free, so her tenderness towards her is completely fair too.
Judy, as the kind of vehicle for the story, seems to be experienceing everything with us rather than being a completely agent character in all these proceedings, but that comes with practice and some vigilance on your part; what is Judy doing? Reacting, think, feeling, all these things also occur, but can be brought out more.
And always take criticism on the internet with a grain of salt. I'm some faceless perv sitting at a keyboard proofreading fanfiction. Your own desires and style still matter.
>>2668778
It's a
romcom
where a husband's wife loses her memory in a car accident and he becomes determined to make her fall in love with him again. I don't remember if it's good or not since the last time I watched it was two year ago, in high school.

As for your story,I can't find a whole lot to complain about so far. Well, actually the dialogue could use some work. The narration was fine, but the dialogue itself was pretty strained at times. It could be just me, but I feel like both characters, especially Nick, said the name of the person they're talking about. That, and him calling her Judy instead of Carrots or some other pet name seemed of place. Other than that, not a whole lot to complain about man, keep at it.

Witnessed.
You switched between hands and paws in the first chapter, which is a little jarring. Also you have a problem similar to me, one that I've been trying to get rid of; you're too specific when it comes to which hand is doing which actions. If you say one hand is doing something and then say the other hand, readers naturally assume that the free hand is the one doing the new action. Unless it's somehow important to the scene, you can usually get away with not using 'left' and ;right' to denote hands. Or, paws in this case.
Second chapter had a good description of a panic attack, the constant descriptors and use of body parts to identify where and what was happening added the viscerality to it, which I think is important when describing something as bodily as a panic attack.
As a whole though, second chapter Judy felt a little out of character to me. Just a small margin, but I felt it. I can't pin it entirely, but part of me questions if she'd be up to the task of willfully traumatizing her best friend/lover. For something so intimate, it may be wiser to build up more history between the two, or if you don't have the time for that, drag it out longer to show how uneasy Judy is/was with the whole thing.
Ending made me laugh, though. I'm guessing they're fuzzy handcuffs?

Still critiquing actively. This is a very short opener but it has some great imagery for what's there. It's a little jarring to read 'his' and 'her' as many times as it appears in a few paragraphs, but I understand the idea behind it of a kind of dreamy detachment. Consider a quick snippet:
>The bunny looked back down at the fox, his paw was softly passing through the air. She gave him a soft nudge, then another, and then a firm shake, finally rousing him from sleep.
I might revise to:
>The bunny looked back down at the fox, a paw softly passing through the air as he dreamt. His new seat-mate electing to give him a soft nudge, then another, and then a firm shake before finally pulling him from slumber.
Variety is the spice of fanfiction or something like that. Also, always push yourself anon! I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Okay, so I took notes:
You need to describe the settings more; the car/taxi(?), the neighborhood, the house, the interior. Just more.
You should spend more time picking adjectives, you used lazily when something like "drowsily" may have been closer to what you meant.
The speech is a little choppy, its conversational, but it needs to flow a bit more. Use this space to describe their actions and interactions with the surroundings, intonations, there's more here.
"Miss yadda-yadda" is just clumsy and doesn't add anything to the story, either use something shorter or something easier to understand.
At line 31. That line could have been a lot more concise
53. Judy could reflect on the differences between rabbits and foxes as shown through their dwellings, would be interesting.
The tone is good, the conversation could be better, the description needs to be worked in more. If it helps, write the dialog first with scene directions, then go back and fill in the blanks. Get into the habit of describing and then work on refining.
I hope that was helpful.

Also, just going through the second chapter I'm very much interested; maybe a few characterization questions though. Come to Seattle -- it's raining jobs here. Look for a medium-sized company. Skip the Amazons and Googles unless you want to spend your IT career as a trembling wreck with no social life. Look for small teams that do a lot of different things. Then pick something to be good at: storage, networks, VMs, AWS; be "That Guy", the dude who everyone comes to for help. The paycheck, of course, is not that of a superhero. You don't get into this work for the money though.

>Raining jobs
You sure?
Mr. Pastebin Dude, if this is your fic:
http://pastebin.com/s55ZaAuP
('Carrots. Hey, Carrots)
I really liked it! Had a comf feeling to it and the dialog flowed nicely. I would have liked to have seen more of the interaction between Judy and Nick's Mom (I'm a sucker for dialog!) because I think it would have been very sweet to see them get to know each other better.
I think you could expand on this story, if you wanted to.
>>2669699
This is fine too.
>>2669697
Well, you know, sometimes you just want to gobble some fox cock. Nothing geh about that. I just want to gently nibble on Nick's cock and maybe put it in my mouth or something. I mean, like, if he he came in my mouth I would probably swallow every last drop, but I'm straihht, ya know?

Or they could keep playing an actually good game?
>>2669144
That's true... I have gotten in situations where I've lost track of where limbs happen to be and that probably left a mark.
Thanks a lot for that. I really wanted to make sure that got across, I think the description of the panic attack may have come out a little samey b/c I focused on the same things. But I think that's kind of the experience.
I think that's the kind of stuff that comes as you consume more media and I did end up rushing this more than I wanted. I really liked writing it.
Not that obvious, they're like those cheaper metal cuffs that you buy at a sex shop or magic store. Not regulation.
>>2669308
Yeah, the anatomy stuff always gets me. I need to do some Ctrl+Fs. The fic was mostly pushing myself to use only description to tell the story, using as little narration as possible. Gonna write some more before I start revising them, let them sit.
>>2669516
When Nick refers to Judy as Miss turn-the-whole-department-on-its-head-in-my-first-week or something like that. It's a mouthful and it won't leave a impression that you want.
>>2669574
Trust me, it's something I had to work on and I'm still not good at it. I tried writing a short fic, like 500 words, without dialogue. I think it was a good experience, maybe it's something to keep in mind for yourself. If you have some time but not to write, just spend fifteen minutes describing an interaction or an event without using dialogue. Might help.

I started in automation at a .com, got laid off, took a manual QA position and recently began writing Selenium regression tests again. I'm one of three engineers, so it's not a pigeonhole. I might not find the product compelling, but coworkers recognise hard work and rock-solid test plans.
The build environment uses Jenkins for Continuous Integration, and fortunately I had experience with using CasperJS in Jenkins via a plug-in. The project is all C# dependent on Redis and SQL, so it touches quite a few elements. I still desperately miss a CentOS/Linux "write it, run it" environment, though. I'd murder for Git over TFS.
I'm toying with entering VFX as a build engineer for internal tools for Katana or Maya. C++ is a stretch, but I had to learn C# for this current job. I don't know. I want to TRY after seeing "Zootopia."
I'm deadly serious. "Try Everything" has made me consider a significant career shift. This damn movie, man.
>>2669777

Also who is this walking potato?

Oh, shoot, totally overlooked this.
I troubleshoot and identify errors all day long leveraging the existing Selenium test coverage as well as manual results from disparate sources across wildly varied staging environments.
I can't claim to be hot shit, but if I didn't have skills, I'd be fired by now. So maybe that's a plus!

>The round brick building stood tall before them, and opening the door they quickly went inside
>The ruddy-red tower soared above their heads, and taking a moment to marvel as they approached a large brassy door; it opened with a petulant squeak, and they hurriedly ushered in
I'm not telling anyone which one to like, but I feel one is more interesting to read at least; that said, a story is just a way to convey what you think matters. As long as you put some care into the craft, it'll show through.

> Do you have any certifications or courses or whatever, or is it all learned on the job/self-taught? I figured IT companies would rely more on a resume.
Self-taught and on-the-job experience.
BUT!
You can explore a lot of what AWS has to offer for free by signing up for their free tier service. For one year, you get a small instance you can build and destroy and free access to a lot of the services AWS offers. The documentation for AWS is pretty awesome and there's a ton of shit on the web about how to do this or that in AWS. Really, the basics are dirt-simple if you're already versed in Linux-based computers and can follow simple instructions.
If you can't show 'em experience, show 'em skills!

I asked last thread but I didn't get an answer, what's the context for this? I gathered it was a dream Weaver had but did he fug the sheep or what?
>>2669836
I totally get what you mean. Zootopia inspired me to pick up a pen and start practicing actually drawing again (with the help of drawabox.com, which i found through one of these threads, actually).
My graphics-fu isn't strong, but an API is an API, and I'd love to work on some rendering engine or animation software at some point.
>>2669895
They've got quite a few, basically everything except for a few core teams and enterprise stuff. The teams that I'm interested in are in that area, though. Which is a nice change of pace, it seems like a lot of companies put a really small subset of their core teams up there (understandably).
>>2669749
Not of the bunbun... but I did do that ravaged bellweather and a few variations of it for weaver. Image limit though so I'll post in the next thread

Semi-colon appears to be in an odd place. I've read it five times and no matter how I read it aloud it doesn't feel right.
Also I'm not sure the word 'ushered' is the one you're looking for; who's guiding them into the building?
>>2669810
Holy shit, Anon, you are golden as-is! If you were in Seattle, I'd be talking to you about a job as a build engineer right now. I wish half the fucking resumes I'm looking at had a tenth of your skillset.
"Try Anything"? Go fly that resume out there on Linked-In and see what bites you get. I'm betting there's a lot of companies out there that'd like to have you on board!
>>2669976
Well, it'm edging two years' experience on paper, and I keep hearing about how intense the competition is out in Seattle. It's true I keep thinking of flying my resume and seeing what happens. I could always stay at my sister's until something panned out ...
Fuck it, why not? I'll get some more core build experience in Jenkins with the Build Engineering team for the next few weeks and throw my resume out there. The worst I can do is "You don't meet our criteria for Pythonic experience."
Thanks, Anon. This may be the kick in the pants I needed.
>>2670059
Judy would be proud of you, Anon, Judy would be proud!
>>2669860
Woah, man, this is like, one of the three I've actually reviewed already.
I haven't caught up since V1 of chapter 2
Let's see:
I see you edited the line that Judy delivers to herself as she leaves Nick's place
Also added a reaction for Judy towards Finnick's teasing reveal of Nick love interest, thanks for that.
You need to come up with a new way to display the difference between whose text is whose. I understood who was texting what for the most part, but this set up is plain suicide. They can't all be the same bold and italicized text with nothing in between them to differentiate for the sake of the audience. The readers shouldn't be forced out of a story to take the time to figure out who is speaking
Wow Finnick's a dick
Put more of an emphasis on Nick's hand injury when he punches the door. I was a bit confused as to why his hand was bleeding at first. I don't know if that is just me being incompetent, but it seriously left me lost for a moment or two there.
>Just because she ain't dating don't mean she ain't hopping couldn't keep up with that if you tried
Suggest: "Just because she ain't datin' don't mean she ain't hoppin'. Couldn't keep up with /that/ if you tried."
"Tell you what - Tonight, we goin' out."
"... you'd love it: great variety, too."
Add commas after "but"
Capitalize "W": "we need to talk about this"
Remove capitalization after the ellipses; they're representative of hesitation, not the complete end of a thought.
Clarify beforehand that the previous comments were made by Judy. Perhaps: "With a sigh, Judy began to record her message. [etc]"
Fennec should not be capitalized
Should be "the international symbol of making bank" instead of having Judy recognize it as such
It continues with the mild punctuation issues (no commas, improper capitalization, spacing) but those aren't really critical.
I don't know what a green bar is.
That was pretty cute, anon. Can't wait to read Chapter 4
Also fuck you, I had real responsibilities to do tonight.
