Kind of wretched. Too much "baleful polymorph," bimbofication, transformation-as-punishment type stuff, not enough transformation-as-power-fantasy for my taste.

Yeah, I'm playing it now and you're right. There are 526 spells in the game but they're all practically identical. I don't even know what the point of animate spells are since the wild enemies will only ever use inanimate ones as a defeat condition, and you can't cast any spells on yourself. Turns also take five minutes so it's really time consuming.

There's a lot of room for improvement as a game, but it just seems like an excuse to roleplay.
