I take it you don't browse furry art wesites, because that stuff is the minority. If you don't actively go looking for furry art then chances are that most of what you see is on 4chan, and similar websites, posted either for shock value or because this is one of the few sites that people can post that kind of art without people complaining and/or deleting the art.
