They keep trying to point out the gray and grey morality of the war and Rose's decisions but in such a safe and weaksauce way that it ends up not mattering. Even the whole "she shattered PD" reveal was blown off as "she did what she had to do" and that was the end of that as far as the CGs were concerned. Even her treatment of Bismuth. Granted, Bismuth was going too far with the breaking point but doing what she did and not telling anyone made her arguably worse. But then, after that, we never hear about it again until Stevonnie has a breakdown and EVEN THEN is kind of swept under the rug.
The show points out Rose's flaws but then not only keeps trying to justify them, but continues to have everyone suck Rose's dick. Greg and Steven are the only two who go "Rose isn't perfect" and it falls on def ears both in and out of the show.

TL;DR Sugar needs to make up her fucking mind. Either Rose is perfect or she isn't, you can't keep see-sawing back and forth.

To be honest I'm hoping the gems have a 'Peridot calls Yellow Diamond' moment for Rose.
Like it turns out all of Roses extra powers came from powdering and snorting Pink Diamonds corpse.
Or she knew the corruption was coming.
Or cut a deal with Yellow Diamond to do the fusion experiments to save Earth.
Or punched a baby.
Or something at least.

Basically so far they've gone for the whole 'Rose wasn't perfect but she tried' angle I'd say, she was moderately upstanding and I stand by what I said that the Gems are going to defend her because she was their delicious pink master, same as Peridot defended Yellow D, even in the face of 'Literally fucked the entire planet I'm starting to like, me included'
