Ideally it should be both. For options there's Red and Raine over on Team B, with Sythe and Maren potentially being a thing too. And then in the fanwankish territory we have Zen and Clovis.

If Tom finds an excuse to make Mike into a girl permanently then I'd say Mike and Evals would be back on the table, but they were always more off to the side and I don't think they could quite fill the romantic tension void.

There's also Kat and Eric but they've been in the "will they / won't they" boat for so long that I expect Tom to just wrap it up almost as quickly as it's addressed rather than drawing it out even further. They've been in the comic almost as long as the original trio.

No he won't. Trying to cheat death and disturb the natural order of things is what turned Trace into a sociopathic genocidal dictator in the first place. The whole comic has had a consistent theme in that it tries to highlight the futility of trying to live forever or bring somebody back from death. He's been warned about it repeatedly by Nora, Laura, the shade of his Wife, hell even Eric cautioned him that many wizards wasted their whole lives in that pursuit. Hell Natani learned that lesson as a child and unintentionally put Keith through the same hurt until she finally managed to get him to let Laura go.

No. I honestly think this comic will end with Trace accepting what he has, and what Flora and him made rather then focusing on what he stands to lose when she finally passes on. Keith I feel will be the same way, I mean hes not naive or ignorant like Trace, he knows exactly what hes getting into falling in love with a Keidran and he doesn't care or sees it was a worth future heartache.

Yep, that was the plan. When I tossed the original greentext over on the official forums, the two complaints were:
A. It was a greentext
B. It was Anon and not someone from the actual comic
So, I yanked out Anon, swapped the random wolf with Zen, and wrote it out into actual paragraphs with a few extra chapters to boot. Don't worry, the next story will be something new (more Clovis, but in a different setting/situation)
