I quite like it, just from playing the Early Access version. The lizards look good, and instead of being dumb and tribal like most interpretations of lizardmen, they're intelligent and aristocratic.

Dunno if there's really any kind of romancing you can do, but the rest of the game is good and brutally difficult. It almost feels like playing a roguelike with how mistakes are harshly punished and strong play is rewarded.

The combat is similar in that it's turn based and you can do multiple different actions in a turn, but different in that you're not confined to a grid. The punishing difficulty is counterbalanced by saving and reloading, running away, or just avoiding fights you can't win. Many encounters that could end in a fight still give you XP if you find a way to avoid the fight.

So I ended up trying out the Adine romantic end mod, and it's...actually good. Like, it perfectly fits her character and how cute yet a little awkward it'd be for her. There's even different ways to end the scene just like in the main game.

It takes place after Adine's Good End and some time passes, so it's not immediate either.

BW1 was barebones as fuck. BW2 fixed a ton of problems and had plenty of postgame to compensate for a lack of a Battle Frontier, but both XY and SM continue the trend of making the first in each generation incredibly lightweight. The former even had a ton of potential for a Z version but they just rushed to shit out another game with fucking nothing in it.

ORAS wasn't too bad since the PokeNav thing was godlike and there was a ton of legendaries, but it decided to pull the middle finger on anyone wanting the Frontier or even any of Emerald's enhancements when HGSS itself inherited Crystal's features and much more. Gamefreak's excuse is that they think kids these days wouldn't bother with postgame that much because lol smartphones, but still why the fuck would you add something that requires Lv100 to use and only provide Lv60~ Pokemon to the NPCs to grind on?

The whole game feels like the devs threw any semblance of strategy out the window and instead went full hog on the "guerilla war, in and out as quickly as possible" aspect. Completely wrong. It is possible to calculate your next moves to insure that you will get the objective and not be in a terrible position. It is also doable to fail the 2-3 guerrilla ops missions.
