And when people start thinking they can do better and then try and act on it? They then see they they can't and were just talking out their asses. And instead of owning up their short comings, they abandon/delete/put it on hiatus. Instead of saying that they bit off more then they can chew.

She's not wrong. The idea has some merit to it, yeah it's hard to make it work and the conclusion more often than not is unsatisfying.

The problem with it wasn't really the collars, it was it changing the setting of the comic. It wasn't just "Judy and Nick visits the burrow", it was now "Nick savors some freedom while everyone play pretend things are OK", and the logic was just a massive storm to make it work.

Don't blame collars for that, if she had made something like, let's say: After the bellwether reveal, prey are prohibited to work on certain jobs or something, causing Judy to lose her job as police officer and live as a market seller for Hopps products, it would be just as stupid and undermining of the whole comic.

There's human bodies with a tail and a different head which is furry.

Then there's bipedal critters with human-grade sentience which is just toony or otherwise exhibits more animal anatomy than human.
