I rolled up a zoosona character from a chart yesterday. Thought I'd take a swing and filling out his character. Not a fan of the green text format. I have no idea how much canon I may or may not be running into.

Richard "Dick" Prong, age 41

Years ago Richard lost a young calf to Childhood Brucellosis. His marriage quickly fell apart, and after years of trying to keep it together, he and his wife finally agreed to a divorce.

Richard, wanting to start another life far away, resigned from his position as tenured Professor of History at Noted Ram University (Savannah) and moved to the city. There he found a modest condominum in Tundratown on Snow Castle Way. He picked the neighborhood on a whim. Snow Castle itself is a historic site of some importance to the early history of Zootopia, and Richard thought it would be interesting to be near such provenance. The condo itself is on the low end of Snow Castle Way, where it's just warm enough to turn the falling snow into a constant drizzle. Despite being there a few years, Richard has not yet taken the opportunity to actually visit the location.

Richard hoped to make a new career as a writer of popular historical non-fiction. A job where he could set his own hours and interact with as few as possible. Knowing he needed in-roads into the publishing industry, he first tried to apply for a job in any of the major publishing houses Zootopia is famous for. Failing this, he tried the printing business. Failing that, he finally found employment as a clerk in a used bookshop on Herd Street. Since being hired, he's been promoted to manager and put in charge of the store's Special Collections. He makes enough to pay the bills and provide child support for his two surviving children. He spends most of his free time working on manuscripts and doing research at the esteemed Zootopia Public Library.

Richard is fully self aware of his situation. A middle aged friendless bachelor with a leaky condo and a dead end job. It's crippled his self-esteem. He has never suffered fools, and will not hesitate to insult the intelligence of anybody he thinks has it coming, which is a lot of people, and he usually does so in the form of a rant about the state of modern education. He's cold. Standoffish. Prickly. This is some annoyance to those around him, as it's clear to everybody that the buck isn't a bad guy, just in a lot of pain.

Unbeknownst to Richard, some of the highly polished yet unsubmitted manuscripts he's written are actually REALLY GOOD. Best seller material. It's only his lack of connections and lack of confidence that's keeping him from publishing stardom and career success.

Richard is too careful to succumb to alcoholism, though on occasion he does like to tangle with that bull. He frequents a dive bar "The Bent Spine," across the street from the library, and usually has a drink or two after making copies. Sometimes he gets WAY too drunk. In this state, the other barflies nickname him "The Professor," unaware of his previous job. When prompted he'll go into ad libbed lectures of obscure events of Zootopian history, occasionally providing wildly original and heterodox interpretations of their legacy.

Every now and then there's a brawl at "The Bent Spine." Or a bad case of public drunkenness. The ZPD is not a rare site. If Richard happened to be present at one of these events, and a certain Officer Hopps responded, he'd like to have a word. He'd tell her that despite what they say on the news, and despite what the ZPD's public relations office likes to brag about, she is not, by any means, the first bunny to police the hard streets of Zootopia. Technically. And therein he's got quite the story to tell.

I have been single for 10 years now, but I never really had a "waifu". Right now I like/love Judy, but i see her as Nick's waifu. When I do the unspeakable, I kinda think of how hot it would be to be Nick and be with her. So at the end I'm more upset that I'm never going to be Nick. But that's just life. I've dealt with this in many level, actually that "AnAdventureInZootropolis" comic deals with the same problem, showing that the female character likes to be "in role" of someone else more than she likes to be herself.
