Oh boy, time for me to gush about specific scenarios that have never ever been done.

You all really like that video game mechanics as a sign of how things go, right? I have a specific variation of that where a pred has a map of their body, with little heart icons appearing where their prey ends up cumming. When the prey comes out after a full tour, they can get occasional glimpses of the map (if the butt doesn't take up their whole view), and their gracious host lovingly teases them about how much they came in certain places, while still noting that there's more little heart marks popping up right behind them.

Strangely enough, my favorite part of vore is the gulp/throat bulge.

It adds such a morbid and perverse element to a fantasy world. The fact that another sentient being would appeal to their most animalistic instinct at the cost of another equal life.
I love it because of how evil it is. I'm all for the occasional loving pred who does it for protection. But I like stories with a lot of conflict especially when it's about how and how not we exist like other animals, and how it would complicate interpersonal relationships. Throwing in a dynamic where preds need to do it, or into a world where society has justified it for whatever reason gives even more room to explore the concept.

One style of scenario for vore I like is when pred and prey both behave pretty much as if they didn't know or understand the gravity or the implications of the situation and what they're doing.
Predator wants to eat a thing because it's delicious and the thing just kinda watches it and acknowledges "I guess this is what's happening now" sorta attitude with them.
Sure, it's pretty much what animals already do all the time but I like sentient creatures doing it like that. Willing, unwilling, fatal or safe, the stuff where prey's biggest worry on their mind is getting drool on their face and the pred's really not thinking about anything else but how they just want to eat the prey. Neither particularly gentle nor cruel about it, they just do it and become happy to have a tasty thing in their belly.

Stuff that's just kinda neutral overall. No one is fucked up for ignorance or lack of empathy, they just don't concern themselves about each other's lives enough to know, or care.

But I can relate, I've had those dreams too. A pretty weird one was where my class's field trip was to, well, go through a dragon.
Pretty much everyone got separated sooner or later along the way. Every turn of the gut was the same and different looking, the whole place was hard to just traverse through and navigation was impossible. I would find a friend, go on with them for a while and then suddenly be alone again.
It ended eventually, the whole day had passed and pleasantly enough I ended up coming back up the same way I went in, the mouth. Teacher was gathering the pupils and checking who had or hadn't already returned.

If I have vore dreams I don't think they typically stop with me in just the belly.

I was getting poked everywhere by its teeth on the way down, trashing about in pain and I woke up the moment I was fully pulled in because I could no longer breathe from the water and the pressure.
Most of the time it's more relaxed and gentle stuff though. There's this distinct focus that's either on everything right before I get swallowed or everything that comes after it. In no dream I recall I've had vivid focus on both.
The latter are the most vague and most similar ones, it's just various kinds of images and sensations of getting swallowed, sliding around in guts, getting massaged by a stomach, trying to catch any outside noises, that kind of thing.
The former I've had some interesting stuff with, like stepping out of the house to yard and there being a fucking dragon there, or giant black snake crawling up to me while I was outside somewhere at night. The yellow eyes in the night were pretty memorable.

soft digestion is actually kinda nice

The appeal is easy to see since both parties end up guilt/fear-free but prey taking care of themselves slightly undermines how submissive that role otherwise is.
On the plus side though you can give big, filling meals to preds without giving them any extra hassle.

To me, there's just something really titillating about predator consuming a prey, and even though the prey loses all hope and is convinced that they're done for the predator decides to either release them or bring them back somehow even though they could have just subdued them for good. Not so much an act of mercy, but control.

Oh, of course. One of the better methods I've found to keep some sense of weight to it is that the prey has to more or less bind himself to the pred, like a familiar. The end result being, of course, that the prey is both fully concious throughout the whole process and that the prey is unable to be more than a mile or two away from the pred at any given time.
And, of course, having the prey be in that state means that the pred has full control over the prey getting his body back. Want to leave your boyfriend as a layer of sapient chub on your gut for the next three months? Sure, what's he gonna do about it?

That's actually really good. I'm always having trouble finding my preferred balance between comfort, pain, pleasantness, inconvenience, dominance, submission...
I'm not very choosy about it because really, I can't afford to be, but finding the right balance for the relationship between the predator and the prey is rewarding. It has to be fun, but it also need to be exhilarating. Both predators that are too cruel, evil and sadistic as well as the ones that are WAY too submissive, meek, and so on are kind of a turnoff for me, though the former greatly more so.
