It's obvious the newer personas aren't as popular as the older ones if you visit his youtube channel. Older names he brings back from time to time and compilations of his older tracks get more views than whatever he's experimenting with now.

I feel he went to shit after the rape allegations came up and he and squeedge stopped dating. She did all his art and became very involved with all his old personas and by association, that music as well.

So when they went their separate ways he either consciously or subconsciously doesn't enjoy making music under those persona as it's going to remind him of that era in his life. He's going as far as disassociating from his gender to escape from it.

I think that Nerve's Ending may be a sign of good things to come. It didn't have the underlying melancholy that a lot of Ren's recent stuff has had, and I've seen talk that his depression is getting better, so maybe we will see a return to the more fun stuff of old. Or at least more speedcore. I used to not like it much, TQBF has steadily become one of my favorites.

God damn this brings me back. Use to listen to this shit when it was called Vulpvibe and not even Lapfox Trax yet.

It varies. TQBF was speedcore, Renard was breakcore (but not quite), Mayhem was mostly electro-house, Jackal Queenston was DnB, and FiaB was happy hardcore. Honestly that's one thing I like about him. No matter what sort of mood you are in, he's done a genre to work for it.

TBQF's early stuff was pretty crummy honestly, but Triple Piñata Dicking Amateur started pushing it in another direction. Now Lucky, Wanderlust, and Nerve's Ending have really solidified him as my favorite. Plus, he's just so fucking cute. iDoodle2Draw does a good job of making him and other Lapfox characters come to life.

Honestly, you're barking up the wrong tree with me on the depressive stuff, since I'm a fan of melancholy stuff. But you're right, when Pop hits that bridge melody atop of everything else, I always think of this great big triumphant return, that they're finally back and happy to be back. I used to attach it to TQBF's return from the dead, but now it seems like something much more.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the melancholy stuff (absolutely love me some Hyi or things like "A Little Differently"), its just that its been obvious in many of his releases that he's been hurting for a while. Wanting him to get back to the fun, more upbeat stuff is partly out of hopes that he starts doing better. Admittedly, I just want some more things like the old aliases simply because I find it damn near impossible not to be happy when stuff like TU4AR or Better Day comes on.
