So, I decided to write a fic about Mike and Bonbon discussing differences between their world and ours.

This is gonna be kinda shitty in spots and will have weird tangents, but here goes nothing.

You take a deep breath before knocking on the door to 87A, rocking back and forth on your heels as you wait for someone to answer the door. God only knows why you're committing to this, but-Well. Faz being the only one who knows is why, honestly. If anyone's going to take it well, it's Bonbon.
Maybe a little TOO well, frankly.
"I'm coming!" High-pitched, but masculine-that's Peanut, definitely. He comes to the door, and you look down just a bit.
"Hey, Peanut. Is Bonbon in?"
"Oh yeah! HEY, BONBON! IT'S MIKE!" he yells back into the apartment as you cringe slightly. She pokes her head from her bedroom door, then scampers up to join the two of you at the door.
"Hey, Mike! What's up!"
Deep breath.
"I've got something to tell you, but I think we'd better go out for snacks first. We're gonna be talking for awhile."
Over the course of the sentence, her ears go to full-mast, one droops, and then both droop before perking up. "Eh, sure. Let's go get a pile. There's a 24-7 nearby, I hear they've got some new Synthetic Harvest stuff."
That's a...new one.
She invites you in for a moment while she gets changed, then returns in shorts and a tank top instead of her usual Lycra onesie. The two of you set off, and you raise the first question that comes to mind.
"Synthetic Harvest?"
"Oh yeah, completely synthetic food! It's the latest craze. Made to resemble nothing in nature whatsoever, using genetically modified crops for the stuff that's expensive to synthesize. I gotta admit, the name-brand stuff is the best, but even the off-brands like Oma Gans or Foolish are pretty good. They're made to have every vitamin and mineral you need-supposed to be healthy snack food. I'm pretty hard on most snackfoods, but these ones are good for you, you know?"

"Yeah! He says there's new CheezHedrons, but I knew about those months ago. C'mon, let's go browse!"
With your previous tight budgets, you'd all been kept to the essentials-soda an occasional treat and snackfoods light on the ground. As you step into the 24-7, you're inundated with smells you didn't know you missed-shitty coffee, hot grease, and refrigerant. Some kind of bird warbles inanely about trucks and beer from a local radio station before you reflexively tune it out from long practice and follow Bonbon into the shelves.
Synthetic Harvest CheezHedrons, Oma Gans Kasestlichstab, and Foolish Lack-Toes! are your first introduction to snackfood in this world. Synthetic Harvest's bags are minimalist-silver plastic with a few colorful stripes and a trio of CheezHedrons. Oma Gans' are red and yellow with a strict-looking, schoolteachery goose with her feathers pulled back in a bun, a hole showing off even, crunchy bars of orange god-knows-what, and a banner declaring "NO REAL CHEESE WHATSOEVER!". Foolish, on the other hand, has a concussed-looking owl grinning sheepishly at foot-shaped snacks. All three are a slightly disconcerting shade of orange.
Considering, you take the CheezHedrons and the Kas-Kase-Oma Gans.
