Setting options: regarding accepting kinks, attitude. Examples would be making women sluttier in general, or making women easily fall into stockholm syndrome. Maybe have them fall into heat so they experience uncontrolled lust periods. Or maybe there's some common trigger. Maybe there are classes/punishments etc for some women who just crave cock or are forced to let themselves be used by anyone/people of certain status/boon. Or maybe you want pseudozombie slut apocalypse a'la Kansen? Include many kinks and how they can be allowed to affect the world more. Lastly, some of the options may not appeal to your kinks. While you shouldn't have to work very strongly against yourself, if you want to make it a CYOA and for it to be a decent CYOA rather than your own fanwank, that will have to include many varied options, including some you wouldn't personally take.

After that you just throw in some sexy pics and are set. Personally I suggest going by things that are very vanilla in standards of looks - no disproportionate oversexed bodies etc, just cute girls and suggestive pics. This way you will avoid situation where, say, your CYOA will appeal to someone sharing your fetish but turn everyone else away.

Do you have examples? I cannot recall any situation when I felt that way but it may be because often it doesn't really matter that much to me - if companions tie with the rest like you say then it's fine we have a choice, if they don't, I can skip them as one big section I am not interested in but it's still good I had a choice.
It only bothers me when I am forced into particular choices/effects/companions and when I am explicitly told/suggested that the "barely fleshing" part of low quality CYOA is because author put in all the effort into companions and burned out. But that rarely happens.

I was thinking of having Least and Lesser spells be one choice, Greater spells be two choices, Artifacts and their upgrades costing one choice a piece(with requirements for some upgrades), the Familiar being free, but upgrades to it costing one choice a piece(Normal Body is free; some upgrades have requirements), and three free Companions.

However, I'm perplexed as to how many choices to give. My thought was for it to be forty choices(as shiny beads on a broken string). That came from the average from all the categories, with Greater counting twice, because each is worth two(30 Least, 52 Lesser, 38*2 Greater, 26 Artifacts and upgrades, and 7 Familiar upgrade choices aside from Normal Body, which is free; divide by 5 is 38.2, which rounds up to 40).

Any thoughts on anything? I know it's not specifically sex-based, but not everything in here is, and I always read CYOA Refuge Thread to mean, "the one on /tg/ is cancer," because I've been there; it is.

Chain Shot causes your shots to fork once they hit something. Teleport Shot swaps places between you and a target, leaving your shot hanging in the air for them to run into. Expanding Shot causes your shot to fill an area, like an explosion, cone, spray, wall, whatever. Elemental Shot seems pretty self-explanatory, and Hybrid Shot is dual elements, but only non-opposed elements. Piercing Shot hits a bit harder and punches through armor easier. Swarming Shot is either a shotgun blast or an airburst shot, depending on how you want to use it.

Selectivity is basically the ability to choose what does and doesn't affect your body, from a chemical standpoint; exhaustion, poison, etc, all at a whim.

Disintegrate disintegrates things. Not a lot of things, but enough to cut through walls, poof people into dust, and the like.

Baleful Trans is shortened from Transposition. You force someone to swap places with you via teleportation.

Extending Rite bumps the duration of something up(minutes -> hours -> days -> until cancelled or dispelled). Make Permanent just makes it completely permanent.
